SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, May 15th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun May 15, 2016 3:10 am

Good Morning!

Lots of birds up early this morning. and making sure everyone knows it! lol! And my cats are sleeping through all the cacophony!

Not a lot going on here lately. I organized everything in my sewing room that I could think to organize. I have a lot of patterns and pictures in binders and I went through those and some of them I have to wonder - What was I thinking?? lol!

CHICKIE - So happy to hear your mom's interest in sewing has perked up again. I have that magazine (BLOCK) and I like that pattern she is doing! But think they could have come up with a catchier name for it than "Four-patches and strips". lol!

JANA - our Andrew (Drew) has no interest in cooking, but his brother, Alec has loved cooking since he could stand on a stool and stir a pot. He's now finishing up his first year in culinary school and still loves it!

BECCA - the brownies sound good! I like to add a big scoop of peanut butter to mine. But they will have to wait. I have my annual physical tomorrow and I still need to lose 30# and drop my cholesterol probably about 40 points before then. Maybe on Tuesday . . .

I made hamburger buns again yesterday. Such an easy recipe that Judi gave me. and they are so good! They have a 'nose' to them, so as you bite into your burger, the bun smells so heavenly. But now Bill doesn't want to go back to store-bought! Judi warned me this would happen! I also made potato salad so it was a big 'cooky' day for me!

As for today - I'm not sure. I might put on a pot of chili as our weather is cool here this week. But I also - OOPS! This just in!! Bill just crawled out of bed and I told him I was doing Supper Club and outlined his options. He voted for the last pasty in the freezer. I'll make a salad to go with. Problem solved!

I hope your supper problems are solved just as easily.

Good morning,

Gracie is looking at me sideways and will have nothing to do with me - I have curlers in my hair and she is wondering what alien replaced her grandma! LOL

Dinner is a corned beef with the trimmings. It's in the crockpot to be done after church.

I posted a set of pictures of Ethan - he is with Daniel and the fire truck. No happier little boy on this planet!

Time to get rid of the alien and ready for church,
Enjoy,
Jana

There were about 50, and now down to 17 and a cormer full of fabric. Caroline 1947, one of grandsons, packed up your box of fabrics, however, I am wondering its it would bhe cheaper to use the post office boxes? Will check in AM. Sean also set up mu new wireless HP Officejet 4650 for me. Have had for sa month or so and never got it done, cuz I didn't want to show my ignorance--HA. Have bought quite a few patterns over internet since I have lost 130# - know I will never get them all done, hope my Mother doesn't mind my getting EZ ones. HA. She was such a beautiful tailor. BECCA: How do you do. Trying to ans. a few from this text, as I never can seem to get it done, BECAUSE I always hit the bar or something and erase. Did that before I came on with a POST to Shelly, which I will type over later. How do you save texts? Have a lovely week. And after I eat at Janna's can I come over for brownies. YUM!

CHICKIE: HI! I have a couple of BLOCK magazines. Really like them, think I will buy a couple at a time and save on postage. Hope you had a nice weekend. Was gloomy most of weekend, had 2 younger grandsons Sean 11 and Sean 12. Latter from marriage. Both are no trouble and first Sean loves to clean for me. Vac's and dusted soon as he got in apt. HA. Older DGS finishing up first year as CSU. He is coming home next Sunday, not sure if he will go back and work at his job in Target in Ft. Collins, CO or get transferred here for summer in Denver area. Great student. His tuition is a mere $22,000 a year. Parents pay, which is nice. Know tuitions are in other states.

Hugs

HI CHICKIE: Bring your mother over and we can quilt together. After 10 years am going to try Shelly's Affairs of the Heart. It is not I do not like the others you all have posted over the years. But, I think I have the book you say Helen, now how many books would that be---I will never tell, however if you are ever in need of a book, let me know. Have lots of quilting mags, and tons of PIECE WORK.

PURRFECT LADY-LADY. well, did it again, erased your text. My daughter and I have my DSIL bread, roll, bun bread recipe. Kathy doesn't share it anymore after one of colleagues at school sent it I n to the RAPID CITY Journal Newspaper, (SD) and said it was her own, the recipe had not been handed out anymore. DD is a wonderful cook, I, myself would rather sew, read, or ETC!

Have a great week.

Hugs,

Helen

well, now it is 4th time I have erased a message, yours 3 times. If I had brains I would be dangerous, si I will type this very slowly. My daughter makes bread, buns, rolls, etc from DSL MGM maternal GM's recipe from before the pioneer days. Kathy always made bread, roll, buns, etc for her colleagues at school, were she taught. One time one of the teachers asked for the recepi, so Kathy being the giving person gave it to her. Well, wouoldn't you know, not to soon after this, the recipe showed uo in the Rapid city, Sd paper - RAPID CITY JOURNAL as her PERSONAL recipe. Kathy was not very happy and quit giving it out. So one day, I asked her if I might happen to get it, and I would sign under oath with legal representation, etc. My DB must have coaxed her, but then I do not blame Kathy

Please excue typos, I do not want to lose this. Hugs,

Helen
