SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 9th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon May 09, 2016 2:51 am

Good Monday Morning!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. My fur-kids treated me extra purrfectly yesterday! But then they always do because I hold the secret to the can-opener!

I sewed my heart out yesterday and finished up 3 WIP's. I was going to post photos since I finally learned how to clean out my overflowing Photobucket account. But I couldn't get into PB yesterday. I finally gave up. Maybe today . .

Today will be piecing two quilt backs, cleaning my sewing room, spending some quality time with Gramma and Grandpa Maytag (they are so old, they've earned those honorifics!), and doing so uglies. And maybe, just maybe, I'll have another go-round with Photobucket. But I'll have to eat my Wheaties first.

JANA - if you get that bathroom and a cot, you'll never have to come above ground again! lol!! How is Stu doing? Has he been gone a full year yet?

BECCA - my nephew and his wife have a mountain cabin in Idaho north of Boise. They started feeding the wildlife and now they have raccoons, possums, squirrels, foxes, coyotes, and bears coming to their door. It's starting to cost them some real cash!!

CAROL - glad you have good coverage through your husband. Many years ago one of my co-workers retired two days before her hip replacement, never giving a thought to the fact that her medical insurance ended, too! I am excited for your trip!

TINA - glad you had a nice visit with your parents, and that they seemed to be doing OK. And that mom was in a good mood! Did you get your movie? Was it good?

We have a large cooked chicken breast and some rice leftover. I'm sure I an devise something from that for our supper tonite. We haven't had a casserole in a long time. and one of my uglies today is to clean the fridge . . . also, we have a lot of lettuce, but nothing to put with it for salad, so maybe a short grocery run will be in order, too.

What's happening at your house tonight?

Mary, have you thought about having just a PB account for your quilt photos? You can do a Yahoo or Hotmail email account that are free and have that just for getting a new PB account. ....I have 3 email accounts Lol Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail. ... my Yahoo used to be what I used for online things, my hotmail was just for family and the Gmail I had to open for my Picasso account.
Supper tonight will be round steak with green chili and all my other things I smother it with and a salad.

Hello everyone,nice day here.
Maryz Your Niece must spend quite a bit .I don't want to attract bears or coyotes not close to house.I used to never throw anything out due to them. We have seen both a couple of times but they found no food so never returned.

Tina I was happy Dad & Mom are willing to live close now.And I wondered how you did your handprints & how did they turn out.I googled & found some methods. Was curious about them.I tried it once in my class at school. They turned out ok.

Carol Oh what a fun trip you have planned. Will be happy for you.Sounds wonderful.
Oh we have had lots of nest & birds over the years. We have Pileated Woodpeckers that come regular too.Love seeing them. Our little wrens build in our shrubs every year.

Irish Hope all is well with you & Jim.

Jana I know it was a joy to get to see Stu..And to see Ethan singing in Church. The children are the cutest.

We have chicken pie left & Cole slaw. Will add some green beans......Becca
Going to get DD some berries this afternoon. Will freeze them for her.

Forgot !! Today is our DS1s Birthday.He is 57, wow .

Good afternoon from a dreary, looking like rain, SW. Pa...After our gorgeous day yesterday, I guess we can have a semi yucky day today.....

And speaking of yesterday, how was everyone's Mother's Day?
I wasn't sure if my idea of having brunch here would be a good one but it was great...Jim used to do most of the cooking but he stayed clear of the kitchen...But, I had all burners going, made a Denver omelet, waffles, sausage and bacon and had all kinds of fruit and blueberry muffins and banana/nut bread...And then Kevin's wife brought a pound cake and assorted donuts...AND of course those mimosas......I loved doing the cooking and better yet, loved, loved having everyone around the table and just listening....

But, we did have some sad news....Just as we were about to eat, my sister called..One of her grandsons had been in a terrible accident and had been life flighted to one of the Pittsburgh hospitals with head injuries...They're still trying to figure out what happened, if it was something medical or something wrong with his truck...He ran into the car in front of him, that car came up over the cab of his truck and then rolled a couple of times, he then ran through a parking lot, hitting 2 other cars before coming to a stop...The family in the other car were all injured, Mom and 2 little kids, are pretty bad but the Dad seemed OK....Witnesses said, it looked like my nephew was having some sort of medical problem right before the accident...So many, many tests, scans, broken bones, you name it, but they are all alive you just never know!

Becca, I'm with you and putting things out for the animals...I had always fed or left dry food out for the feral cats but have found, it's not the cat that eating but a big old raccoon and I'd rather not have him close to the house...But, if I have apple peelings or something I think the deer might eat, we'll take it out, far away from my garden and house...We always fed the chipmunks and blue jays until they practically started knocking on the door and buying big bags of peanuts was getting expensive....I had a red bird that would come when I called and would catch the nut in mid air....Ah, nature.....

This morning was spent, once again with the "slicer and dicer"...But, he got away easy this time, Regis got it all the 1st time...And they removed stitches from the last time and fixed up his arm...It was the skin graft that was stuck to the bandage, Yuck! But, he'll survive and we get to go back next Monday, hopefully the last for 6 months.....I did tell them I needed to start collecting a check for being their "greeter"....

Other than that, today is going to be a very lazy day....When I go upstairs to change my clothes, that bed just might jump out and grab me...Sitting in a doctor's office is worse than working a full day....
And as far as dinner, I have probably enough left overs to feed us and then tomorrow, on to new food.........We certainly do have enough goodies.....

Happy eating................

Not so good Eagle Up date.....After the nest in Ft. Myers fell, the 2 eaglets started sleeping on the branches, as most eagles do after awhile....The other night, during the night, an owl, swooped down and knocked both eaglets off the branch and the youngest eagle hasn't been seen since...Not sure if he/she flew away and can't find it's way home or maybe it was injured and can't come back...Once again, Nature!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Tonight's dinner will be Fast Hash, salad and green beans.

Tina - I have two e-Mail accounts and use one for guild and quilt stuff and the other for other stuff.

jana - Know you enjoyed hearing from Stu. Glad he is happy and healthy.

Becca - Thanks! DH and I are both looking forward to our vacation. Yesterday we talked about stopping by Hoover Dam on the way. I have seen it, but DH would really enjoy.

Irish - I knew you would be enjoying the day and your family yesterday. I was thinking of you. Sorry for the slice and dice! Prayers for your nephew.

Maryz - I have some leftover chicken cut in cubes in the freezer I need to use, so you can share your ideas with me. Congratulations on finishing your 3 WIPs!! Quite an accomplishment.

I need to go get some exercise. We had a lockdown at school today that was not a drill. Trying to keep everyone quiet and in the dark for any amount of time is difficult. It was only a little more than an hour though.

Carol
