SUPPER CLUB - Wed, May 4th
Good Morning!
The girls are gone and so is our sunshine! Not a metaphor. Those little thieves took our warm sunny weather with them! Left us with 60* and rain. But, like the old saying says, when you have lemony weather, you make a quilt! Right?
TINA - I hate to hear that you are still feeling punk. I'm sure BECCA is right and that stress is a big factor. Stress usually manifests itself physically. So how are Mom & Dad doing?
JANA - it seems that we were just all excitedly waiting for Ethan to be born and here he is playing ball! I love T-ball. It's better than the majors!
IRISH - how funny that you and your friend were so close so often! And your sis is funny. Maybe you should sign her up for those sewing lessons you saw advertised - as a birthday gift, you know? Or at least trade her some of that great cooking she does for your great sewing . . .
CAROL - that Med. Chix sounds delicious! I might have to look that up! Was your olive tamponade black, green, or mixed? How did you fix your potatoes?
BECCA - that's too bad about Denise losing out on that house by just an hour. But maybe she wouldn't have liked it anyway . . . . Perhaps she needs to expand her area she's willing to relocate to . . . or maybe she needs a different realtor. One who's a little bit hungrier . . .
Speaking of hungry, I'm trying to figure out something for din-din. Carol's Med Chix is tempting me, but we still have one more cooked pork chop and some macaroni salad. We could have the salad for lunch and make pork fried rice for supper. And then do chicken tomorrow. I think that's my plan! What's yours??

Good morning
Mary, Mom and Dad seem to be doing ok, she's been calling me everyday because I haven't been calling them. She's asking everyday about properties to buy, she's got my older brother and sister in law looking too LOL. At the moment I can't look so I'm no help.
We didn't have pork chops last night so that'll be supper tonight. We had to go to town for aparty for the cooler and a prescription for me so I talked Frankie into eating out, it wasn't hard LOL I had a big salad and he had chicken fried steak.
Becca, I hope they get this house
I hope I feel like sewing today, I feel like I'm wasting my vacation time being sick!

Good morning from a dreary, dreary SW. Pa...I think we're even to get some thunder boomers later today which means, it's an inside kind of day.....And as Mary said, we all know what that means.....
Mary, I like your idea of trading my sewing for her cooking...But as far as the lessons, I don't think she can fit anything else into her life...All her kids have homes on the farm property and naturally navigate right to her kitchen table at meal time...It's like the cartoon with the kids calling Gram to find out what she's cooking because they don't like what Mom has made....And on Sunday's, the whole family will be there.....
Tina, sure hope you start to feel better soon...I agree about the stress, sure does knock the stuffin out of you.....
Becca, I'm a firm believer in things happen for a reason and maybe there would have been something wrong with that house, just wasn't meant to be...BUT, that perfect one is just sitting waiting, she'll find it!
Yesterday, Jim did go with me while I did the errands....And then I did get outside and got my hands dirty...Had to work on the weed whacker but got it going and did a number on some weeds (and non weeds)...Was hoping to get back out today but will just have to stay inside and work on Cari's quilt.....
As for dinner, the elusive chicken ala king just might make it to the table tonight.....It should be "must go" night but don't think there's anything edible left in the fridg....AND for afters, we stopped at that bakery and a box of those pink snow balls jumped in my cart..Unfortunately, Jim doesn't really care for them (yea for me) so he'll have to satisfy his sweet tooth with some very good ice cream and store bought cookies.....I don't think he'll mind.....
Happy eating...............
Today is Nicky's birthday...Can't believe my little boy is 17......

Good afternoon!
Yes, my little Ethan is not so little anymore. He loved playing t-ball and is counting the days until the next time - which is Mondays. I love watching those little characters playing, out in the field picking grass or watching the birds fly by, anything but the ball! LOL
The HVAC guys are still at the shop fabricating the parts, then will be here. Hurry up I want this done!
Spent time cleaning the upstairs, now on to the Batt Cave.
Dinner - humm, ate the leftover tacos, still have the salads from the other night, or I may have to cook. We divided the salads in half and left the second half undressed, so the lettuce would not be soggy. They are huge salads.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Well, I know a few of you read the day before! lol
Mary - I purchased Kalamata Olives to make Tapanade. (I did not use anchovies in my Tapanade.) It was very easy to make in food processor. The recipe was very good. We had red potatoes and they were simply boiled with a little butter. I thought that was enough with such a tasty chicken dish. i think I was right. I did not have enough cherry tomatoes so I cut up a tomato and it worked perfectly.
Becca - My last day is June 3rd so I have 4-1/2 weeks.
Tonight's dinner is a repeat of last nights feast as Erma Bromack said.
I have carpal tunnel that is bothering me today so I will not type any more. Forgive me for those I did not talk to.
Carol

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, May 4th
Good evening! Sorry I’m so late and didn’t make it to the table last evening (leftovers… no big deal).
Before I forget… dinner tonight is stir fry—beef, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and udon noodles. I have a feeling DH will pick out the beef and maybe a few carrots and I’ll have the rest. Oh well, I like the noodles, mushrooms and broccoli! I think there is a piece of cake for dessert… at least I’m hoping there is.
Tina—I echo the so sorry you still feel like poo. I agree that it must have a lot to do with your stress.
Mary—so sorry about your sunshine and the girls! We warmed up here compared with Sunday and Monday… 72 today! That’s 20 degrees warmer than Monday! Yep, still UPHILL. When you live halfway up a steep hill, what goes down must go back up to get home. I loved roller skating and pretty much lived in my skates all day. They were the strap on ones with the key I wore on a ribbon around my neck. I hated Kansas with gravel streets and old rough brick sidewalks. I learned how to ride a bike (an ancient Schwin) and kept those big thighs by riding the gravel streets. I must have been in high school before they paved mom’s street.
Sorry this is short. I’ve been trying to work on the blocks for Tina as well as all the other stuff that jumps on my to do list. I’m having brunch here Sunday for everyone, so I’ll be cleaning house on Sunday and prepping food on Saturday afternoon/evening. I can’t believe how early Mother’s Day is this year.

Carol--what a sweet little bird! Our house finches are more rosy red--like a light red wine. I looked them up in my Peterson's Guide, and the color varies from your orange to my rosy--depending on diet. So interesting!!!

Chickie - Thanks for verifying for me! I did look it up too.
