SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, May 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue May 03, 2016 3:17 am

HI, there!

Well, the Big Visit is coming to an end this morning. We will be leaving about 10am to take Mary Q to the airport and Ken & Sue will start for home in their trailer. It's a 3-hour run for them. They live about a mile from the Canadian border. It has been nothing but total enjoyment having them all here! We hate to see them go - though we do have one more quilt shop to visit - my favorite - on the way to the airport. There should even be room for Ken to park the trailer!
thanks for the offer of the collection for bail. It's good to know you friends have your back. I'm sure that $1.98 plus Jana's 2 cents would have gotten me out on my own recognisance. Too bad about Mary and Sue, though . . .

IRISH - I think you better check out that Quilt Lessons sign! Maybe you've been signed up to teach some classes and they forgot to notify you!

CHICKIE - I'm still working on skating UPHILL. Isn't that against the law? Like the law of gravity?

BECCA - Debbie Macomber's town is Port Orchard, about 17 miles north of here, but they are very similiar towns and look very much alike. If you watched the show, Cedar Cove, it depicted both towns pretty well.

JANA - Your Perry hearing the cat's meow on TV makes me think of when Scottie hears dogs barking on TV. He comes running from wherever he's at in the house, barking and looking for the interloper dog! So funny! He can usually narrow it down to the TV and stands there, watching and barking at the TV dogs.

Tonite's supper will be leftovers from the Mexican restaurant. and Sue's leftover pork chops and pasta salad because she doesn't want to take them home. It's been such a good visit. The house will seem so empty today!

What's going on your plate tonite?

Good morning :)
I'm still taking it easy, I get winded.
I have pork chops thawing for supper and if our corn on the cob is still good we'll have that and a salad. Not much going on here.

Good morning,

Must be pork day. I have a pork tenderloin roast, small, that I will be butterflying and stuffing with ricotta cheese and spinach, then rolling it back up. I am experimenting with the filling.

Laid back day here, the HVAC guys are delayed one day, due to a part being shipped late.

Ethan played his first official t-ball game last night. He got a new glove and ball - one excited little boy! I can't wait to hear how he did - from his perspective.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from another semi dreary SW. Pa...The grass and weeds are growing like crazy but it's not quite warm enough or dry enough for me to get out there and do anything about it.....One of these days!

Mary, all good things must come to an end, well, maybe not all good things, right? So glad you had a good visit, just can't imagine it would be otherwise......I always hate the day or 2 after a visit when the house does seem extra quiet.....
I had been a Cedar Cove watcher and loved, loved the scenery...Sure is one beautiful part of the country and you're very lucky to live there.....

Becca, been thinking of you and Denise, wondering how the house hunting is going...I'm sure you're enjoying your walks.....

Our lunch yesterday was great...We sat for over 3 hours and gabbed, ate and told more stories...My friend and I met close to 65 years ago, went to school together, her sister and my sister also went to school together and would you believe, our mothers also went to school together..After now being in touch, I found my friend in Florida about 2 blocks away from where I was...We both had been going to Florida all those years and never ran into each other...Life is strange but good things do happen.....

Not sure just what's going to happen today....I might try to talk Jim into going for a ride with me to pick up new glasses...Could always do some heavy cleaning but not in the mood....My sister was helping her DGD clean out a house she was buying and found pairs of drapes like you can't imagine...So, I came home with the trunk full of gorgeous drapes and I'm sure we can find a home for them....Of course my sister who doesn't know a needle from a seam ripper asked if I'd cut a pair off for her.....
But, if nothing else, there always a quilt that needs done before August.....Maybe I should just lock myself in the sewing room.....

As for dinner, I found a casserole of Shepherd's Pie in the freezer so, pop that in the oven and we're good to go....My sister even gave me a freshly baked loaf of banana/nut bread, so we have afters...(I always thought I was a fairly good baker but my DS is the really, really good).....

Happy eating...................

Hello everyone,
Maryz It is hard to see company leave that you enjoy so much but you made great memories to cherish.Glad no bail money was needed.

Irish I just talked to Denise. The house she was going to see got a contract 1 hr before she got there. She called to see it last Wed & they said they wasn't ready to show.Down there you have to move fast.I told her I think she needs to spend the nite.I know there is one waiting for them & I keep trying yo reassure her.

Tina Prayers that you soon get well & up to par again.I imagine stress is playing a big role in this.

Jana Our little Sawyer plays t- ball this year too.zhe told us last wk he hit a home run.

We have plenty of meatloaf from our meal out yesterday.I will add brocolli & carrots.

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Tonight's dinner will be Mediterranean Chicken. I found the recipe on Betty Crocker. It calls for Olive Tapanade. I found a recipe for that on the Internet as well. It was easy to make. We will have salad, potatoes and peas to go with the chicken. I made the salad and prepped the potatoes this morning.

Hope all are doing well.
Carol
