SUPPER CLUB - Mon, April 25th
Good Morning! A new week and new opportunities!
Yesterday I really got into the uglies and even washed some windows, light fixtures, and picture frames. I have my living/dining/quilting room finished. Today, some fine-tuning there and then I'm doing the family room downstairs. I can't have Mary Q seeing the 'real' Z's! And I even got in an hour or so in the sewing room. That probably won't get cleaned. When a quilt is in progress, whaddaya gonna do? It's messy, but not a mess. I'm sure you all understand that concept.
IRISH - I can picture Nick in my mind's eye. He's sure handsome! I hope he goes for the red roses and the black shirt. Do they (and you) skype? At least they can send you pictures instantly these days.
TINA - so happy you are able to be with us! I know it's been tough for you this past week. I hope today brings you some good news. I'm so concerned I'm even letting the "banned food" slip by. Oh yes, I 'caught' that . . .
JANA - so scary to hear that news about a vehicle and occupants matching your sons! What a relief it wasn't but I know you said a prayer for the family it was, though. But how odd that at the same time Matt WAS hit by a car! I hope he has no leftover aches/pains/bruises today. God was smiling on your family yesterday!
CHICKIE - I know bad storms are skirting you. Keep the Hooligans safe!!
DH opted for the pasties last night. He really likes them. They are big enough for us to share one. And we had the last of our fresh asparagus, too. I think tonite I'll make that chili relleno casserole. I have leftover Mexican rice in the freezer and we can have refried beans, too. I am all out of salad makings. A Costco run is on our calendar for later this week.
Do you have a plan yet?

Lol I can't get anything by you Mary
and thank you so much!
Becca, sounds like your day was so happy and fun!
Mom is going home today!
I just talked to her and she has a blood clot they're trying to dissolve but so far she hadn't bled since before the weekend
We didn't go over this weekend, Frankie wasn't up to another trip and my back was bothering me too much to drive myself. Everybody else went though. Dad stayed home Sunday, he wasn't up to another drive either. He's getting xrays this morning and then will go get Mom and then they'll grab a burger for lunch and head home.
Thank you all so very much for the prayers, We all appreciate them so much!
I'm going to thaw chicken for supper and will have a salad and a veggie too.
Tina

Good Evening All.....a bit chilly and a little rain today......
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-
Coffee keeps me going until.......its time for Wine......
spent all day trying to crawl out from under the avalanche of magazines.....tried so hard to get going......but I had to make sure I wasn't getting rid of something I "just" may need in the future.....mind you...that's how I got in this mess in the first place......must stop buying all those mags....and all that fabric....but you know what....that's not going to happen anytime soon.....however I can now see a little bit of my carpet.....shame that little isn't yet a lot......
MARYz....you have mentioned making PASties....think you did some a few weeks ago too......heres a little background to our PASties.....the Cornish Pasties were the miners lunch/dinner meal while they were working......the Savory meat and 2 veg. were one end of the pastry.....and the "afters" were in the other end......the meal was prepared in pastry.because of their dirty hands and was discarded when they finished....the West country (Devon and Cornwall) were known for their Tin mines....I don't recall hearing of Coal mines

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Mon, April 25th
Good afternoon! We had a fun ATV ride yesterday with friends on all the trails on the farm. The dogs, of course, went along. Boomer was EVERYWHERE—chasing rabbits and imaginary varmints, calling all the while for the other Hooligans to join him. Tinker Bell sometimes fell for his cries of “wolf”, but Odie being the eldest rarely fell for the come on. He rode in the cart and would jump down and explore and jump back on when he decided he’d had enough chasing. It was a fun day with the Jack-in-the-pulpits, May apples and buckeyes in bloom along with various other wildflowers. The day was a perfet 75 or so. Of course… loads of yummy food when we returned—enchiladas with ALL the trimmings (toppings, acompaniments and salad makings), chips and cheese dip, guacamole, lemon cookies, cinnamon rolls and mixed fruits.
Today is a quiet day. DH went to work on the rental after brunch. Before he came back from coffee, the Hooligans and I had gone to Cherryvale (KS) to the Vet and picked up a ransom-worth of flea & tick applications and worm/parasite chews. Fortunately I was able to come home and file for some rebates to help the co$t.
I finished the twin quilts and made a couple of burp cloths to go with them. The quilts are in the dryer now. I hope to deliver them to DD tomorrow if it works out timewise.
We are overcast today with storms forecast, but who knows??? Hope they don’t materialize into quite the craziness that is in the predictions. So far, so good this spring.
I have lost count of the projects I have going all at once. I really hope to catch up some day, but I keep having “need now” projects inserted… Everything has a place… ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! It would drive sane minds crazy, but I learned to work in chaos years ago during tax season at an accountant’s office—my first job out of high school after the dime store and babysitting jobs during school. We had piles of multiple projects going on at all times. It kind of set my whole work style for life.
Becca—Charleigh sounds so beautiful! Laurel must be a special joy, too. I enjoy hearing of all the babies—none here anytime in the future.
Tina—thanks for the update on your folks! They/all of you have to be totally wiped out with everything going on with the both of them. Hope they can get home and settled in and build up some strength for your dad’s fight.
Lady Carol—thanks for the history of the pasties! I can’t imagine discarding the pastry, but it’s a clever way to keep hands clean and not have trash that wasn’t biodegradable. Wonder if any of the guys ate dessert first??? I have your “someday I may need” affliction, too!!! Excellent weekly wisdom!
Jana—that’s always scary to hear! Hope Matt has made a complete recovery!
Irish—are the eagle chronicles about over until next season? I’ll miss your updates! Of course, it’s spring… how’s your Schwann’s man?
Tonight’s dinner will be some re-runs from the fridge… salad with choices of soup, enchilada, or fajitas. I think I’ll go for soup and salad and give DH is preference. Cookies for dessert.
Enjoy!
