Good morning!

I have singing birds and a barking dog. Sounds like 'daylight in the swamp', as my Daddy used to say.

I saw my brother yesterday and he's starting to look better. He said for the first time since his Feb 1st surgery he felt a tiny little hunger pang. And he's gained back one pound of the the twenty he lost. He slept through most of their visit but that's probably because we started talking sewing machines. lol!

IRISH - I'm still laughing about your card party that wasn't - and then was! Too funny!! Out of all the card parties you've ever gone to, that one will be the one you remember! haha!! I didn't realize your Kathy had MOH surgery. Skin ca, right? Praying all goes well for her!

BECCA - I bet your family was tired last night when they got home. From the airport to Hoodsport is about a 2-hour drive if traffic is good, though the second half of it is on pretty country roads. And Frick and Frack were at your house? Again?? Seriously, though, glad your hubby wasn't hurt! But it must have been scary for you both. When you said two cedars fell, my heart stopped. I was afraid your house was squashed! We are surrounded by giant western red cedars and it takes at least two people to stretch arms around their trunks. And I was picturng you dragging them off to your slash pile!! What a woman!

CHICKIE - how was the birthday party! and ham and beans cooked in the cast iron over the fire is my kind of eatin'!! Add the cornbread (make mine jalapeno, please) and I'd be in culinary heaven! I KNOW that party was a rockin' good time! I've been in your party barn and party'd with all your people. Such a fun group!! I bet your cake was the hit of the night!

TINA - I know your day went to heck in a hand-basket yesterday with your mom in the ER. I hope all is OK now. Doesn't your dad have his bone scan this coming Monday?

JANA - got snow, Hunny?

Today I will be baking again. I know! Odd for me, right? But we "need" cake (white with choc frosting) and cookies (choc chip) for camping. Then I'll pack the last of the perishable food and we'll be off tomorrow morning for four nights.

We made a quick run to Costco yesterday and found they had pre-seasoned chicken breasts again. Garlic sesame this time. I think we'll grill that tonite. There will also be salad and either green beans or au gratin potatoes.

I won't be here until next Friday but here's the menu for the week: BBQ'd burgers with capresi pasta salad and chips; tacos, rice, & beans; and our friends are doing ribs one night and chicken one night. We will be rolling ourselves home Thursday afternoon after all that!

Stay cool! Stay fed! See you on Friday!

Good Morning Everyone!
Maryz - Have a great time camping. We will miss you.

When we go to the Grand Canyon we will be staying in a hotel. I used to go camping alone before I got married. DH has never been camping, maybe someday I will talk him into it.

Irish - Your card party was certainly memorable.

Becca - Sorry your family left, but glad they came to create those memories.

FarmChick - It sounded like you made a cake instead of your famous Birthday Cookie?

Jana - I saw on the news where you sent the snow onto Colorado.

Tina - You have your hands full, prayers are with you.

I finally completed the SS application online yesterday. I then went to the SS office to give them Marriage Certificate and get code to open My Accounts. All is well now. It took a bit of time, but I wanted it to be finished!!!

Tonight will be chicken, salad, pototoes and vegetable.
Carol

Good morning from sunny, gorgeous Sw. Pa...Another purrrrfect day in the "burgh".......

Mary, I didn't realize you were "running" again...You and Bill sure don't let any grass grow under your feet, do you? Years ago, I tried to talk Jim into "sort of" camping but he said, he had had enough tent living in Korea and if he traveled, he wanted a big bed...So, the extent of our camping was going to Cook Forest, in a cabin with all the fixins, including plumbing, although they did have an outhouse....Of course the boys liked the outhouse and many, many times, they loved pretending to be a bear when it was in use...Kathy had always been a camper and loved it...But, I sure do like to hear about your travels, my way of seeing the country....
And so glad to hear the good news about your brother....1 pound might not sound like a lot but that is going in the right direction...Good for him....
Safe travels, we sure are going to miss you.....I do expect a "check in" along the way.....

Becca, so, Frick and Frack is alive and well and living at your house, lol....We haven't had any episodes lately but, as you said, at this age, you just never know....But, so glad neither of you were hurt....And you my dear, deserve a rest...A put your feet up, glass of something good and have a smile when you think of all the good memories, kind of rest....

Jana, SNOW, yikes....But, I'll be surprised if we've seen the last of it...Around here you just never know...We normally don't plant anything until Memorial Day because of the frost and/or snow....I hate to sit and watch the Memorial Day parade wearing a heavy coat and boots, lol.....Hope your hip is feeling better...

Carol, are you also traveling? If so, need to share some pictures....I've never been to the Grand Canyon so I "need to see it".....

Well, today is a "clothes on the line, window washing" kind of day...Jim is outside trying to figure out the lawn mower which I'm sure he isn't able to do...I've already called to have someone come and mow, he's just not able...I do have a little electric mower and maybe, I'll be able to do some, maybe....Don't be surprised if you see me write about running over the cord, lol....Part of the "Frick and Frack" duo might be still around at this house....

As for dinner, it's going to be Jim's favorite, hot dogs and baked beans...That grill on the patio isn't going to just sit there and act pretty, it's going to earn it's keep.....

Happy eating.....

Kathy texted me yesterday...She was back at work and said, she had no customers, scared them all away....But, is feeling fine.....

Good afternoon,

Hop Along Cassidy has nothing on gimpy old me! My hip is doing much better. At least I can now lift it into my bed. Sleeping in the recliner isn't much fun. My bed is quite high from the floor. I am still using my cane, but I am getting better.

Baden is coming to play at Grandma's house tonight. The others may be here too, so we will see. So if I have all, we are doing chicken burgers, macaroni salad and rice kripy treats for a goodie. If it is just Michael and me, he put a steak in the basket while we were shopping.

Tina - hope all is getting better for your mom.

Mary - enjoy your trip.

Becca - be careful with all those tress down.

Irish - oh, Frick and Frack are alive and well here at this house too. Snow has come and gone, but we are still cold. Next week we will finally get into the 70's

Enjoy,
Jana
