Good Morning!
Yesterday was a surprise to us! Bill and I were standing in the garage about 9:00am, talking about something long forgotten now, when the tall particle board shelving unit next to us suddenly collapsed! Junk fell everywhere! What a noise! We just stood and gaped, then looked at each other and started to laugh. and so started our day. I began to clear away debris while he ran to Costco and got a new, steel 6-foot tall industrial shelving unit. Of course, this meant more cleaning and rearranging other things in the garage to make it fit. You know how these projects snowball. What a day we had! the good news is that those extra wine glasses we were storing in the garage? We no longer have to give them space. They were the only casualties. Boy, was I sore last night! It called for a long hot bubble bath. I probably should have added a cup of vinegar. My parents swore that a cup of vinegar in your bath water helped achy muscles.
IRISH - nope, my eye and dental appointments are still about 3 weeks out. Sorry Nick's team didn't win, but what a coup just to get as far as he did! How did your dr appt go yesterday?
TINA - happy anniversary to you and Frankie!! How many years? He seems to be a keeper. ;o) Hugs to your dad - for so many reasons!
CHICKIE - yes, I guess scones are fancy biscuits. The recipe I used called for sour cream and egg in them and sugar sprinkled on top. Next time - and there will be a next time - I will set them close together in the pan for baking so they have softer sides. I think they would make excellent Doyal food!
JANA - your scones sound like our fried cakes. Mom would take bits of homemade bread dough, pull them out flat and drop them into hot oil. Fry until golden and sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar. I haven't made them in years but oh, they were so good!
BECCA - and our fried cakes sound like your funnel cakes! lol! you have sure been seeing a lot of your family. What memories you all are making! Taking a lot of pictures I hope!
Well, today is my clear liquid diet. No cream for my coffee and I can't do black, so I'm having orange spice tea for breakfast. Sigh. Lemon jello for lunch and Gatorade for supper. And of course, dessert will be The Stuff I have to drink. At least it's only 64 oz now and not the full gallon it was last time. Still . . . . oh well - in 26 hours I will be sitting in a restaurant devouring some hashbrowns, bacon, eggs, and toast. DH promised. I can smell it now . . . . . Mmmmmmmm... . . . .
