Good Morning!

Yesterday was a surprise to us! Bill and I were standing in the garage about 9:00am, talking about something long forgotten now, when the tall particle board shelving unit next to us suddenly collapsed! Junk fell everywhere! What a noise! We just stood and gaped, then looked at each other and started to laugh. and so started our day. I began to clear away debris while he ran to Costco and got a new, steel 6-foot tall industrial shelving unit. Of course, this meant more cleaning and rearranging other things in the garage to make it fit. You know how these projects snowball. What a day we had! the good news is that those extra wine glasses we were storing in the garage? We no longer have to give them space. They were the only casualties. Boy, was I sore last night! It called for a long hot bubble bath. I probably should have added a cup of vinegar. My parents swore that a cup of vinegar in your bath water helped achy muscles.

IRISH - nope, my eye and dental appointments are still about 3 weeks out. Sorry Nick's team didn't win, but what a coup just to get as far as he did! How did your dr appt go yesterday?

TINA - happy anniversary to you and Frankie!! How many years? He seems to be a keeper. ;o) Hugs to your dad - for so many reasons!

CHICKIE - yes, I guess scones are fancy biscuits. The recipe I used called for sour cream and egg in them and sugar sprinkled on top. Next time - and there will be a next time - I will set them close together in the pan for baking so they have softer sides. I think they would make excellent Doyal food!

JANA - your scones sound like our fried cakes. Mom would take bits of homemade bread dough, pull them out flat and drop them into hot oil. Fry until golden and sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar. I haven't made them in years but oh, they were so good!

BECCA - and our fried cakes sound like your funnel cakes! lol! you have sure been seeing a lot of your family. What memories you all are making! Taking a lot of pictures I hope!

Well, today is my clear liquid diet. No cream for my coffee and I can't do black, so I'm having orange spice tea for breakfast. Sigh. Lemon jello for lunch and Gatorade for supper. And of course, dessert will be The Stuff I have to drink. At least it's only 64 oz now and not the full gallon it was last time. Still . . . . oh well - in 26 hours I will be sitting in a restaurant devouring some hashbrowns, bacon, eggs, and toast. DH promised. I can smell it now . . . . . Mmmmmmmm... . . . .

Good morning! Today I'm having lunch with my DD and doing a bit of shopping before picking up chicken for dinner...

Jana--your fried scones sound like sopapillas.

MaryZ--hope everything comes out o.k.! Truly!!! Sorry for the rotten pun. I've had a couple of those procedures, so I feel qualified to make idiotic puns. I think I had two pint bottles of some kind of citrate liquid and two Ducolax tablets.

What an ordeal with the shelving!!! That's good that very little was damaged, but what a mess!!!

The scones sound delicious! DH will eat most carbs. He likes all things with blackberry jam spread on them!!!

Irish--the boys did great at the robotics competition! That's really something to go so far with it. Congratulations to Nick!!!

I'm going to get my truck packed and start brunch for when DH returns from his geezer coffee. I'm going to skip mine and save room for lunch with DD!

Chicken... yum!!! I'll call Mom and see if she wants me to take her a dinner on my way home.

Good late morning from sunny, sunny SW. Pa...Not real warm YET but it's moving in the right direction.....

Mary, you seem to have all the excitement! But, just think, that's one more thing cleaned, whether you had it planned or not....And speaking of cleaning.............Will be thinking of you and of course there will be extra prayers.....Like chickie, I've had a few of them and each one is easier but still, no matter what, nasty.....Just keep thinking of that breakfast.....

All this talk about scones is making me hungry...Each one is a little different and each one sounds delish!

Chickie, you sure have a great day planned don't you? And then top it off with Mom and chicken.....The mention of Ducolax just gave me shivers....When I took it, it made me sick and along with sitting on the throne, I was upchucking in a bucket....Oh the memories, lol.....

Becca, Having a little one on your lap and then to tell you they love you, has to be the best meds in the world...Don't you wish you could bottle it up? You sure are making great memories, for you and those little ones.....But you got me this morning with Fresh corn and strawberries! We did have some strawberries over the weekend but CORN! Sounds like you're having a picnic....

Well, today is another doctor day...See, Mary doesn't have all the excitement! Today is foot doctor for Jim, so this is an easy trip...Then we'll stop at Walmart for cat food (fur babies are starting to give us the look) and after Walmart, who knows where the car might take us......
And by the way, my check up was spot on....I thought doc was going to do hand stands when he saw my BP reading....120/70 if you please! I told him, it's all the stress free living I'm doing....And then he thought I'd flipped my lid when I told him when he was tired of his tie, I wanted it for next year's eggs...

So, not much happening in this household or in my yard today...But hopefully, tomorrow, I'll get something done even if it's wrong.....

Not sure if I'll be cooking but, I cleaned out the frig and we have no left overs....If I have to resort to the freezer, I could always find a nice steak or 2 and throw them on the grill....But, I'm still hoping the car makes that decision......

Happpy eating..................

Way late - went and tried a new restaurant- Zaxby's. Very good chicken - had a Caesar chicken salad. Very good. Very large too - one could be split between both of us. Michael had their house made fresh potato chips - oh my yummy!

Mary- enjoy that breakfast you earned it!
