SUPPER CLUB - Sat, April 9th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Apr 09, 2016 3:58 am

Good Morning!

Can you believe that April is already almost a third gone? I wish I could slow down time! Yesterday Bill and I got our covered deck ready for summer living - brought out the rugs, cushions, and quilts for the furniture, cleaned and filled the fountain and turned it on. And got pots ready for planting some flowers. We even have a TV we can take out there and spend balmy evenings, which we have been doing this past week.

CHICKIE - I love wisteria. There is a restaurant on the OR/CA border that has outside seating under a 100 yr old wisteria that entwines itself over a huge pergula. There are tiny white fairy lights in amongst the flowers. It's a magical place to have dinner. That was quite a tumble you took yesterday. You know, there are easier ways to be checked for osteoporosis. You are like my younger sister, Teese. She trips over shadows! always has. Her nickname when she was younger was Flounderfeet. This is the sister that fell in Walmart parking lot 3 weeks ago and fractured her elbow. She didn't pass her osteoporosis test . .

IRISH - how did the eye appt go? I have mine in about 3 weeks. I have a pair of frames that I got about five years ago, and promptly lost so I ended up having to get new ones. Of course, then I found the lost frames. I hope I can get new lenses put in those. Hope Jim had a good visit with the eye dr! lol!

JANA - I hope you had a great day in The Batt Cave. What were you working on?

Today I will make another fused Seahawk Peyote Hawk for my quilt and then I'm off to a girl luncheon. After that, we're going to costco. Possibly not all in that order. No real yard work today. Whew!

I think supper tonite will be pork chops cooked cranberry/onion sauce in the crock-pot. With rice and salad and maybe green beans. I haven't made a REAL meal in a while, so we're due something a little bit more substantial than the fried egg sandwiches we ended up eating last night.

Do you have your menu planned yet for tonite?

Hello all, sunny but in 40s for hi today.
Maryz Your place must be in ship shape by now with all the yard work & fixing the deck for Summer.Sounds inviting.

Chickie Sure hope there are no more spills. They can be trouble. One time that cushioning comes in handy.Dont know if you have any.

Jana Glad DBIL & DH can be such great friends.

Irish Sure you are busy today with something fun.

Oh my yesterday was such fun.The little grands played out & even went to car waiting on parents.Said they were tired. With the time change it wore them out.DD & DSIL come too & it was a great day for all.

Good afternoon from a wintery SW. Pa...We have snow again and it's darn cold, and I mean darn cold! I'm not sure but I think I have my calendar on the wrong month, lol....But, it's gonna get better.....

I was thinking of our Joanne last night and wondering if she was watching the ball game....You would have thought it was the middle of Feb. the way it was snowing, sleeting and a little rain thrown in for good measure...But, our Pirates pulled it out in the 8th inning by hitting a grand slam...Quite exciting!

Mary, as Becca mentioned, your place must be looking fantastic...Right now, I'd love to be able to be outside...I have a cute little rake that needs to feel wanted or needed....I too love wisteria but haven't been able to get any growing..There is a house on the way to my sister's that has a huge one growing and I manage to slow down and enjoy...Funny about your sister, love the nick name but not happy about her self diagnosing....Not good! And with all the work you've been doing, nothing wrong with fried egg sandwiches....Does sound like you're going to have a fun day....

Chickie, I agree, let the doctor run the tests...And from the few pictures I've seen, you don't have much cushioning....Hope all the aches are gone...

Becca, you have no idea how much I'd love to jump in the car and drive right up your drive way...I don't even need the leftovers, just one of your hugs (if you have any left)...I can imagine the kids would be tired out, that is quite a time change....
And I am doing something fun today....Back in front of the computer watching another robotic competition...This is for the state championship in Charlotte...If the kids do well, they'll go to St. Louis..So far it's iffy, but we have all afternoon...Thank goodness for the heart pills, lol.....

My eye appointment went fairly well....Cataract is growing but no surgery yet, dry eye is worse so more drops, yuck, and a minor change in the RX so I decided, what the heck, go for it and get new glasses...Jim enjoyed his "visit" and I was happy the doc was able to squeeze in my exam, lol.....We then stopped at a couple of stores and ended up bringing home a pizza, my kind of cooking....

As for today, a little of this and a little of that....Left over pizza and a zucchini that I might bread...And there's always fried egg sandwiches, lol....

You all have a great day...
Happy eating................

Good Evening All.....another lovely day.....with that cold nip still in the air......,never mind NO rain.....with apologies to those that want it......
Sir has been a bit under the weather for a couple of days.....so the old nurses hat has been on and off like yo yo....but hopefully has been put back to bed for a while......the hat....not Sir....

Now.....do you remember I was doing a lot of cutting out......I don't know if any of you follow M"liss Hawley.....well she has had very serious health problems for a while.....and a photo of her in her hospital bed with a lovely Ohio Star quilt came up on my FB.....so as madame was already cutting.....I started to cut out the Star.....and did a couple of blocks....so pleased with myself.....then had to stop to be a nurse.....and then when I got back to it....do you know what....I had a brain freeze....just could not remember how to do the 1/4 triangles.....I watched tutorials....I looked through my books and mags......and it took ages for anything to make sense......so.......Sir has now been banned from going sick for a while....and....he so agrees.....and yes....he thinks I"m nuts too........

todays menu......there isn't one.....we went out for full English Breakfast......so it will probably be Coffee and Cake later tonight

went to town yesterday for veggies....and did a quick nip to the LQS....before everything is moved to the new warehouse....just for a "few" fat quarters you understand.......I did slap my wrist....

Lady Carol

ps......still having to sign in everytime........

Good afternoon,

Thought I had posted here this morning, so you know what thought got!

The boys are off and so I will fix a easy dinner of spaghetti, salad and garlic bread.

Tomorrow night BIL leaves on the train for home in California. Matt and family are on their way home from San Diego. So tomorrow before BIL leaves, they will be out for a visit with him. So I will have enough dinner to feed them as well and strawberry shortcake for a treat. More than likely all the kids willbe here as well.

Monday will be a nice long nap!

Enjoy,
Jana

Checking in. If you hear an explosion from the general region of the farm it is me blowing my top! Too many supposedly adult children trying to kill their mom! Son and fiancee who will not lift a finger are taking advantage. I take them to and from work every day they work, which is maybe 1-2 days a week. They are both on unemployment and are planning a wedding for July 22, 2017 with 12 bridesmaids and 12 groomsmen. Son went shopping in my jewelery box for her engagement ring.My health is still questionable. Rheumatologist gave me a diagnosis though- I am old. I am 53, fall all the time, break easily, have been diagnosed with PTSD thanks largely to hubby 1 and death of the love of my life hubby 2. Have lost 44 pounds though and am having a consultation Monday for breast reduction and a panniculectomy. Question is DDD to a B or C? Lol! Robbyn is in love - her boyfriends goes to boot camp the Monday after graduation. He also shopped in my jewelery box for a "promise ring" - my $573 diamond quasi eternity band from Hubby 1. Robbyn would wind up with it any ways.

Have been making and hand quilting 3 twin sized disappearing nine patches quilts and quilted bibs for my best friends who are having grandchildren soon.

Other than that I am still fighting with disability. For dinner tonight: a pot of Manhattan Clam Chowder - only 91 calories for a cup.
