SUPPER CLUB - Wed April 6

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Apr 06, 2016 3:20 am

Good Morning!

I had this all typed and suddenly I was on Facebook!! And my post was gone. Bill claims when these things happen it's 'operator error', but I know it's gremlins in my computer. Microsoft hates me.

TINA - you made me chuckle with your "don't fall for that vacuuming trick . . " remark! lol! But the sheet is a good idea! I even have a sheet designated for this very thing but never remember to use it! Insert Gibbs head slap here!

JANA - Ah, so the kids DID find something to do yesterday . . . And poor Ethan got the chair for it! lol! Glad no permanent damage was done to anyone. I got whacked with a lot of things when I was a kid. My sister really had/has a temper. Wish my parents had had a 'chair'.

IRISH - a long lost cousin is coming to visit today? What fun! And did you say you're making lunch? How about quiche? I love quiche. In fact, maybe I'll make it for tonite . . . . Bill likes it, too. Despite being a man! Hope your new restuarant survives. It sounds good.

CHICKIE - I'd be joining you at the pasta bowl and leave the ribs to Doyal. Ribs are too much work for too little return. lol! Hope your winds settle down. Though I know Mary Q would love it if you 'dropped in"... ;o)

BECCA - How is the dryer working? I guess I'll checking my own dryer today. Ugh. And what fun for you to plan a special meal for your hero with all his favorites! Hug him for me! I love hearing about your deer and foxes in your yard. I get a very pastoral visual in my mind.

I know we'll probably have one or more CAROL's joining us later, so good morning to you ladies, too!

Yesterday I pieced 18 football blocks for my DGS's Seahawk quilt. Hope to finish those up today, do some wash, and maybe weed another flowerbed. I have so many dandy-lions, but their cheery flowers are so pretty I hate to pull them. So I'm giving them a pass for another week.

Tonite's supper will either be chicken on the grill or the aforementioned quiche. I will let Mr. Bill make the choice. If we grill, there will also be rice and a veggie of some sort.

Have you got a plan brewing yet?

Good morning! Mary, you don't have gremlins, you have devils in your Microsoft!!! Crazy!!!

The wind calmed here, and we had three drops of moisture this morning... nothing measurable--just an evil tease. There was rain and storms all around us all night, and we got... NOTHING!!! I can miss hail, but some measurable rain would be welcome.

As for dinner... more of the same. Who knew a partial box of pasta would make so much!!! I am really enjoying it!!!

Good early afternoon from a sunny, warmer SW. Pa....Maybe just maybe spring is back....

Well, Jim's cousin couldn't come for lunch but will here about 1:30, so I didn't have to decide what to make, lol....But, I did bake a cinnamon swirl cake with the help of my good neighbor, Donna...I had everything mixed up, ready to mix up the cinnamon/brown sugar swirl and had no brown sugar...So, Donna to the rescue....And as soon as it's cool enough to cut, she will get the 1st couple of pieces....

Mary, I agree about the evil person that lives inside the computer...Mine gives me fits most of the time and I know it's not always "operator error"....Boy, you're really going to town on that quilt, aren't you.....It takes me longer than that just thinking about it....Will be waiting to see the finished product.....And I also agree about those pretty "yellow" flowers. We have lots of them and I think they look nice..But, if you'd see Jim...You'd think our yard was special the way he attacks those things....

Jana, I can just picture poor Ethan sitting on the "chair"..Thank goodness there was no "real" damage...In our house of 4 boys and 1 girl, our chair was much used along with "the look"....

Well, I guess I'd better get moving...Need to run to Donna's and then get my clothes changed...I do have to make a semi good impression, I guess.....

As for dinner, left overs from last night...I started making chili, then kept adding and then it turned into my version of home made Hamburger helper....Jim wasn't thrilled but it was filling...And, you know, Chickie, you right about that pasta...I ended up with way too much macaroni, lol.....At least we'll have good cake for afters.....

Happy eating................

Good afternoon,

Yes, Ethan gets the look as well. After awhile, Emma went in to Grandpa's office and gave Ethan a big hug. All is well.

Dinner tonight when the boys get back from running around will be meatloaf, baked potato, asparagus, and all the trimmings for the potato. I am making a batch of brownies for afters.

It's good for these guys to get together. They were friends before BIL married in the family and they still are, even after the ditsy sister. My kids all love him, he is favorite uncle. Matt named one of the boys after him as well.

Matt and family are traveling to SoCal today - San Diego to go to Seaworld, zoo and beach. They are going through Stu's mission, so I have a hunch they will stop off and see him for a minute. Stu will be easy to find as he is eorking out of the mission office. I'm a little green eyed, but it is fine!

Time to get dishes done from this morning,
Enjoy,
Jana

BIL is good company, I only have to feed him a couple of times, his conference is taking care of most of his meals there. He leaves on Sunday night.

Good Evening All......Rain banging on the windows.....and...no...I wont let it in....

We were very late getting home yesterday from seeing the Bristol family......blimey.....those girls haven't half shot up.....Lilly is well on the way to being a teenager.....and Willow is now looking so much better.....her hair has stopped falling out(due to medication)and is now beginning to thicken up.....of course most of the time was "wedding talk".....I honestly didn't realise how much time you had to book everything in advance.....Claire and her partner are not getting married until feb.next year.....but quite a few of the venues were already booked up......never mind......all is now sorted....apart from the last minute bits and bobs.......
so we never did get around to doing my "photo" techie bit with the "very" smart phone or the Tablet......keep telling myself.....never mind......just grow an extra brain cell.....and all will be revealed......

Today I have been cutting up some more "jelly roll" strips.....not all day of course......just whenever I can sneak off when Sir is otherwise engaged.....
no Maryz....they are not for anything in particular.....just that I do use a lot of 2 1/2" white/cream strips......and the colours will come in very useful......and you know what that means......another trip will be in my future.......providing the bank balance is in my favour of course.....

todays menu........Shepherds Pie....carrots and cabbage.....fruit and cream for afters.....

Lady Carol........

Hi Everyone!
I have been trying to apply for SS online. After a phone call I still cannot open a "My Account" so I can see a statement. I think I will wait until tomorrow and see if it resets itself.

Tonight's dinner I think is a bit of a mystery. I took some sauce from the freezer, but I am not really sure what it is. lol I am trying to clean out the freezer so I can get better about identifying things.

Think I had better run to the store.

Carol
