Good Morning! I can't believe we are already closing up March. It's all going too fast!
CAROL - So who looks forward to spring break more - students or teachers? lol!
LADY CAROL - families is what they is. If you can't laugh, you cry. I say go for the laugh!
CHICKIE - Boomer is going to get you guys into trouble yet! lol! What a story! When I was growing up our two main dogs ("Singer" and "Clancy") were the same, only about mountain beavers. Singer was the digger and Clancy was the encourager. And Clancy always got the 'prize'.
BECCA - I bet your DH was exhausted, but happy with himself that he was still able to do a productive, 'manly' thing. And you're right - your dryer was a much bigger deal than ours was!
JANA - I am going to try to look up your Nativity scene just to see what you are working on next.
Our soup last night was still good. I dropped biscuit dough into it as it bubbled on our wood stove while we watched the news last night. Excellent dumplings! Still a bit of leftovers but they will be relegated to lunch status and we're moving on to new food tonite which I think it will be pork chops, baked potato, and salad. If it's nice enough we can grill or else we can use the oven.
What's the plan at your house tonite?

I had to check out what some of you girls are doing so I went on-line.
JANA, I found Art to Heart nativities but wasnt' sure which one you are doing. There are choices! but I liked them all!
IRISH, I am going to now be looking for silk ties in thrift shops! I have to try that method of 'tie-dying' eggs.

Good almost noon from a gorgeous sunny spring like day in Sw. Pa...Purrrfect weather for going something but of course my something will be going to the dentist later this afternoon......
And to top it off, I had forgotten to call the doc for my pre-meds and now need to stop along the way to pick up "whatever"....It's everyone's thinking that, even though Chris was premedicated at his last cleaning, that's what lead to the infection in the valve, so I don't want to take any chances.....
Mary, you are very creative in the kitchen aren't you...And it sounds like your creations are darn good....
You would have laughed at Nick and I and the ties...We only found 1 tie so had only done 4 eggs at 1st...And then when everyone started seeing them we decided, we needed to do more...Of course, we told everyone it was a major process (which is was, we had to go to at least 3 different stores for the ties)...But in fact, it's the easiest thing to do...Cut a piece of tie, big enough to fit the egg. Wrap the good side of the tie next to the egg and tie it at the top and then wrap it with a piece of sheet or light colored cloth and tie...Fill you pan with water, enough to cover the eggs, put in 1/4 -1/2 cup vinegar, bring it to a boil, take off heat and cover for 15 minutes or forget them as I do....When they're cool enough, unwrap and you'll be in for a nice surprise.....
Becca, I can see we have another "Frick and Frack" at the table...You know if you had been taping your episode, you probably would have won lots of money.....Thank goodness that project is done, right? And saved you money.....
My lunch yesterday was great...We met at a new buffet and sat for 3 hours, eating and gabbing...It's kind of funny but how come someone who is the same age can seem so old? This gal and I were best friends, I was her maid of honor but boy has she aged...Of course made me feel good, lol.....
Tonight's dinner is up in the air...Jim and I both have dental appointments and I know we'll get out of there late this afternoon but will either of us want to eat...I know the car will want to stop but we'll see.....
I was thinking of stuffed peppers but that might be held over until tomorrow.....
Happy eating..........
Eagle Update:
so far the 3rd egg hasn't hatched and now we're thinking it's not viable...But, it's a blessing to have 2 very active, healthy "bobble heads" in the nest....We have to accept what nature gives us.....

Good morning!
Mary - the Art to Heart Nativity that I am doing is from the packet - it's called Joy to the World. It will be a wall hanging, but I am missing some blue star type fabric for the sky. I have everything else to get it started. And since I am one of those who need to have several things going at the same time, so that I can overwhelm me, LOL, I am starting a Fons and Porter kit that I bought called Ginger's Flower Garden. It is from the 2008 magazine, July August. Tells you how long that I have it! I bought the disc from Fons and Porter awhile ago that has all the magazines from the beginning of them. So I can just pull it up on the computer. Besides, I saved all the magazines from then as well!
Irish - love the eagle report. Not too far from me, just up the canyon a little bit is a eagles nest that you can see from the road. It is fun to drive by and see them sitting in it. In downtown SLC, there is a perrigrine falcon nest on the side of a former hotel, now church office building with a cam so you can watch.
Dinner - well I am really going to cook tonight - chicken over a bed of dressing with cranberry sauce and green beans.
Well time to get tracing off some of the pieces that are needed -
Enjoy!
Jana

Good Evening All.....its like a lovely spring day today.....sun shining....not too nippy....golden daffodils waving gaily in the slight breeze.......
today....I went to the new(ish) fabric warehouse.....oh boy.....such a large choice....where to begin.....now that thought didn't last long........eventually I was able to make my choice(s)....all I can say.....I am pleased Sir wasn't with me......and even more pleased I have my own bank account.....no tell tale credit card post to arrive.....now what to start on first.....it would probably be a good idea to finish what is under the needle first......but I am bursting to dive into the new buy......
perhaps now the events of the past weeks are behind me....I should be able to catch up on all your news.....I know Maryz has been travelling but is now back home.....Irish has her feathered friends back again......Jana has a new granddaughter.....and I am hoping Becca"s eye problem is now sorted.......give me a couple of days and I should be up to scratch with everybodies news.....
todays menu.....Steak and Onion Pie (home-made) creamed Potatoes.....Peas.......Rice Pudding for afters.......

Good afternoon! We have storms threatening, but they seem to be south of us. The Hooligans and I got sprinkled on and thundered at when we walked down to see Ava awhile ago. We hustled back! I don’t melt… I just swell up like a sponge and seem to retain the “fluff”.
Oh, yes! Tinker Bell is the encourager, and Odie is the back up encourager. Boomer is the hunter/worker. They are so funny! I just hope they don’t get hurt, and I do keep up their rabies shots and vaccinations!
You said it better than I did to Lady Carol about families. I used to have to tell my mom the same thing when my aunt with dementia used to embarrass her. I had to insist that the nurses, orderlies and ministers were all very familiar with her actions and were not embarrassed. Mom just needed to laugh at whatever it was that had taken over my aunt’s inhibitions, ‘cause it sure wasn’t her—the prim and proper one! They seem to be the ones who “cut loose” the most when they get dementia! LOL!!!
Jana—Hope to see your quilt! I like the idea of the disc… too bad it doesn’t come with the subscriptions!!! A lot of time newsstand purchasers get bonus CDs that subscribers don’t get.
Irish—I always like to hear of your “foodie” outings!!! I am going to save the Easter egg dyeing “recipe” and look for silk ties for next year! I thought they were so cool when I saw them on The Kitchen. There is an old lady in my mirror, too! I just can’t believe what I see with friends and classmates, either!
I was planning on vegetable soup tonight. DH of course said, “With huge pieces of meat.” I told him I was going to make plain vegetable soup, but for him I would put chicken in it. (He really only tolerates fowl—BEEF is what’s for dinner!!! according to him.) I think I’ll take a page from you, Mary, and add the biscuits… that should be a compromise for both of us… chicken vegetable soup with dumplings!!! I’ll make enough to save and bake for breakfast… biscuits, that is.
We are dark and hundering. Hooligans are nervous, so guess I’ll go sit with them a bit. I’ll not be too close to Tinker Bell… she has found some choice remains for rolling in. There’s a certain unpleasant aroma about her.
Enjoy!
