SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 28th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Mar 28, 2016 3:23 am

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. Ours was good as well. My brother was exhausted after 3-1/2 hours here but I think he enjoyed it.

LADY CAROL - You have had some busy weeks! That's a lot of gardening! I haven't even started on spring work outside yet.

JANA - With your happy family, it would be hard not to have a nice gathering. So happy the leg of lamb got vetoed. When I was five, I loved my pet lamb so much that to this day I cringe when I hear of people actually eating lambs!

CHICKIE - sorry about the rolls. I'm sure they over-rose because you were busy elsewhere being a good hostess. And I'm sorry, but I'm laughing about your SIL's casserole! We have a 'friend' who, when we have a dinner and everyone brings something, she arrives with a grocery bag of ingredients that she plunks down on my counter and says, "Hope you've got a plate to put this on". Then she goes into the living room to join everyone else and leaves me to assemble her salad, or appetizer, or whatever.

TINA - how did your day go? I know you had a crowd, too!

BECCA - is your hubby doing any better today? Hope you get your dryer fixed easily. That's what you get for cleaning back there!

IRISH - Did your boys return home yet or are they able to stay a while longer? are they staying at your house? Lucky you!

So, who isn't having leftovers tonite? lol! My swiss steak will morph easily into veggie beef soup. And we have rolls leftover to go with. Easy peasy!

Good morning,

Mary - happy to hear that Jim did well yesterday. Yes, we had a great time with the family. Even my niece and her husband were there. Lots of snuggles and giggles!

Well, it is snowing here, need something warm and comforting for dinner. Must be easy too, I am recovering from yesterday! LOL So banned noodle cassarole, fits the bill.

Heading down to the Batt Cave to start a new project and DH will follow and work on the connections for the new computers.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from a very dreary, rainy, chilly, SW. Pa...Yesterday our temps were in the high 70s with lots of sun, today it's only going to be in the 50s....But, the weather suits my mood...It's a sad day here in the burgh, the boys are gone.....

Mary, happy to hear DB Jim was able to come and enjoy the day with you...He sure does sound special....Yes, the boys stayed here, along with 1 dog...The house is small but everyone fit, lol....Yesterday, it looked like a used car lot in front of the house, almost needed a parking attendant...

After early Mass then breakfast/brunch, we went to DS Kevin's and nibbled on munchies and Cindy made me a mango margarita...Doesn't take much for Cindy and she had the giggles after a few sips...Had a great visit and was worn out last night....Terry and Nick left about 7:30, got home about 3:00 this morning and Stephan left at 9:00 and was going straight to school, texted me at 6:45 this morning to say he was back...Boy, I hated to see those guys leave....

Lady Carol, you've really had some adventure...Thank goodness everything is OK...And all that gardening, wow...I look out the window at where my garden will be, hopefully, and think of all the work...But, in a way, can't wait to play in the dirt....

Becca, been thinking of you...Hoping you had a good day and DH is feeling better.....

DGD, Jackie, just stopped to pick up some things and then was headed back home, near Philadelphia...She is Kathy's oldest and sure has inherited her's mother's love for travel...She has taught in China, last summer visited England and France and this summer is going to South Africa...Told us, she plans to visit all the states, has 17 yet to go and wants to see all the continents....

My day will be doing the washer waltz...Looking at Mt. Washmore, I might be friends with the washer for days...And the boys had been doing laundry but I honestly think the neighbors brought some in....

As far as dinner, we do have left overs...So, along with the ham, there are a couple of left over baked potatoes that can be cut up and fried and who knows what else I might find in there....OH, almost forgot the eggs and beets.....AND I did manage to find the silk ties to use for dying the eggs and they came out gorgeous.....And everyone wanted to know my trick, lol.....

Happy eating.............

Eagle Update:

We had heard that the 3rd egg was hatching in our nest but so far, no new baby...The other 2 are getting big and if there is a 3rd, I really feel sorry for it...The parents are having a hard time keeping the 2 babies under them when they're sitting...There's always a head or 2 popping out....So funny to watch......

Irish Glad your boys got to stay the full time with you.Know it was fun.And those Eagles probably have to be tough to survive.

Maryz If you only knew what we got in with the dryer vent.We just finished & what a disaster it was.Frick & Frack trying to make it work. Will never attempt that again. But the line sure needed cleaning. We replaced the whole works.

We are having chicken pie DD gave us.I still have 1 left in freezer.Sure have enjoyed them. And Cole slaw.Lemon bars....Becca
