SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, March 23rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Mar 23, 2016 2:46 am

Good Morning!

Today is March 23rd, my whole birthday - not my quarter birthday, or my 7/12th birthday, but my whole birthday! and it's not all bad. Like my mom always said, "it's better than the alternative". And I go on Medicare! Becca and I were almost twins! I'm glad we're both here to celebrate with all of you! Our "besties"! :o)

BECCA - I hope your day was sweet! Glad you got a walk in. Here, I can't walk in wind. We have too many trees. Your trip sounds exciting. I sure hope you get to go. You so deserve it! And I have heard that Queen for a Day was on the radio, but I have no memory of it. But I do remember the TV show!

IRISH - Thank you for the birthday wishes! One can never have too many cats! Wish I could convince Bill of that! lol! Glad your snow is finally gone. Hope it's for good! And I'm happy that your breakfast buddy has found a companion. Warms my heart!

JANA - sounds like your Ethan is going to be a big guy! He's so lucky to have a family that can sew him clothes to fit! He'll be stylin'! Hard to believe he's already four. Seems like he was just born!

CHICKIE - Happy anniversary 6 months late! Better late than never! Wish we were close to you. You'd never notice Bill, Scottie, and me melding into your Easter crowd! What's the main dish going to be?

CAROL - The Moroccan Chicken was a sauce in a packet, not dehydrated. and no artificial anything. Campbell's puts it out. I can't remember everything in the ingredients list, but there were green olives, paprika, cilantro, garlic, and "spices". There was no curry. It was spicy, but not too hot. DH doesn't like cilantro (a new 'dislike' he announced about 3 yrs ago) but he loved this dish. I bought this seasoning packet in Texas. I'm not sure I've seen it in our stores, but I'm going to look. There were other flavors, too, if I remember correctly.

TINA - today is your day off! What's cookin', girlfriend?

My day is going to depend on weather to an extent. Yardwork beckons, but not fun to do in wind and rain. I did get some petals made in a new applique project I just started. In 30's fabric. I might work some more on that today. Tonite we are meeting my DD and SIL in Bremerton for dinner at an Italian restaurant. So no cooking for me!

I hope your supper is delish tonite! And life is uncertain. Eat the cake!

Good morning! Mary—happy birthday!!! Your card is in the mail, but you probably won’t receive it today… hoping for tomorrow or Friday—you can keep celebrating as long as the cards and wishes roll in!!!

Just come on over for Easter dinner!!! DS1 is making a big ham, and there is always plenty to go around. There will be loads of sides and desserts.

I made banana nut bread yesterday, and this recipe is a keeper. I baked it in a clay baking pan, and it got the nicest crust on it… my favorite part!

We still have wind warnings today. Temps are going for 78, then sliding to the 50s tomorrow and rainy for Easter. If it rains on Easter, it rains for 7 Sundays after…

The Moroccan chicken sounds good! I’ll have to watch for it. Men sure have funny tastes… My fried chicken efforts last night were actually delicious. There is a piece left for DH for his dinner tonight. I may make fried rice with the leftover rice.

Last evening Ava and her parents came down for a visit. Her mom and I went outside so the dogs could romp, and some of the cows saw us. They came to the gate and begged until I went and got the bucket of range cubes for treats. Most of them no eat from my hands, and it’s so funny. I told Meagan that the dogs beg me for treats, the cows beg me for treats, and humans beg for treats as well. It’s a good life!

I can’t walk in these high winds. I need to take a Benadryl today so I can get out.

Have a super day!

Good late morning from a very sunny, warm, SW. Pa...Yippee, spring has sprung, maybe......

This is going to be short and hopefully sweet but needed to stop by and give our Mary a BIG HUG!
Mary, you mean you've reached that magic age??? Hope your day is extra, extra special.....

I just had a call from Terry and he and the boys will be coming tomorrow so that means, "get with it"...I'm making my list and hoping to get the shelves stocked for the 2 never filled boys....It will take them most of the day to drive up so I can do the cleaning in the morning.....

As for dinner today, if I'm shopping, you'd think I could find something to put on our table today, right?? But, if not, I'll let the car decide.....

Happy eating.............

Eagle update:

Our 2nd eagle has hatched and already there is "bonking" for the food...The oldest is only 2 days old and has taken over as the leader...The younger sibs always have a hard time getting their share but it always trains them to be survivors...Normally, if there is a good supply of food, then the bonking isn't as bad but in nests where food is limited, the youngest might not survive...But, with having the 3 rivers, we have ample fish, thank goodness.....So, 1 more egg to go, probably in a day or so......

Happy birthday Maryz.Enjoy your Dinner with DD & DSIL.
It is painless to get older,A state of mind.My DB always says it is better than the alternative.

Jana I find it hard to believe Ethan is four. And Gracie's should be about 4 months I thought. That shows how time flies.Ours are all growing too fast.
Sawyer had an accident, fell down the steps with his ball cletes on & knocked his front teeth back in his mouth.Had to have them pulled. He just turned four so he will be without teeth a while.Did really great with the Dr they said.

Chickie Oh I too would love to join in the gathering.Sounds great.Sure my DD will haven us a special meal.My DGD will be there too.

Irish I am SO happy for you that your DS & DGSs are coming.I can feel your excitement and joy over them coming.Just enjoy your time with them.

Wow I got a lot of cleaning done this morning. All the floors,Bathrooms,& dusting. Its all shining for Easter.
We have left overs & I want the refrigerator cleaned for our trip. Will be no cooking for me.Think we both are still full from yesterday.Ate too much.Have a great day to all.

Good morning,

I am singing, you may not like to hear me, but, Happy Birthday Mary! Italian for dinner is yummy!

Dinner is leftovers from yesterday. I really need to do some grocery shopping. We are out of many things and snack for my termite!

It snowed in the morning, melted off, snowed in the afternoon and most of it is gone now too. Just lots of gray clouds and a peek that there is still blue sky. Cold too.

Irish - what fun at your hoyse - Terry's coming with the boys. How long will they get to stay? So good to have them sooften.

Becca - ouch for Sawyer. He will get to want his 2 front teeth for a couple of Christmases!

Chickie - we had those winds a couple of days ago. What is coming your way from me are not that bad.

Time to head to the Batt Cave,
Enjoy,
Jana
