SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 21st
Good morning! Do we have rain today! But there is a little break coming up so I think Scottie and I will dash out and try to get a walk in.
IRISH - I think all of us think of you whenever we see eagles anywhere! lol! I'm loving watching the "The President" and "The First Lady".
JANA - I'm with you on them tearing down your dad's bridge.
On bridges, my first time in a driver's ed car I had to cross the Tacoma Narrows Bridge so I learned early. But when I was 16, and had my very newly minted drivers license, my parents, younger sis, and I went on a trip back east, hitting lots of states and eastern provinces. The folks thought it would be cool if I drove at least a little bit in every single state. Well, I got stuck in the driver's seat somewhere near Toronto with dusk coming on, no place to pull over and change drivers, and suddenly a HUGE, very tall, very steep, 6-land bridge loomed ahead. I was scared to death. I think my parents were, too! No help for it but to gut it out. My eyes were so glued to the road, and my hands to the wheel, that I never noticed the big 3-car pile-up blocking the three on-coming lanes. All those flashing red lights never even registered with me!
BECCA - I'm so sorry your hubby isn't doing well. As I watch my brother decline, I think of you and send a little prayer your way.
CAROL - happy birthday to your hubby! All the best folks were born in March, you know. Ahem - March 23rd is the best date of all! ;o)
CHICKIE - your hooligans have to live up to their name, you know! I love Odie!! Scottie gets all barky, too. Raccoons here.
got to run. Dinner tonite is Moroccan chicken in the crockpot, over rice. and salad.
What's on your menu!

Good morning!
Mary - we now know you are not one of those rubber neckers on the road at accidents! Hope you got your walk in. Hope the leak is repaired quickly. March 23rd is my niece's birthday - the one that lives across the street.
Dinner - after skating most of the week, I will cook something good. I have chicken, so will see what I come up with.
Easter dinner will be at Matt's house. There is a running joke with my DDIL, about how to make a family dish, we call it Aunt Sarah's salad, for DH's great aunt, so I make it. Most of the rest of the world calls it funeral potatoes. DDIL has a variation on the recipe, but my kids are traditionalists. LOL
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone,Spent the morning at Church quilting.Sun is out but we had snow yesterday & last nite. All is gone now.Great.
Ahem March 22 is the best Maryz.lol My DB called me today with early wishes. He is the one getting married in May.After talking to him I feel better about it.Just hope it works out for him.
Oh the talk on bridges. When we used to cross the Tampa Bay one I only looked straight ahead.Never at the water.Maryz You had to be gutsy to do that but guess there was no choice.Jana I agree on the tearing down of things.Think they should be saved if possible.
It is too cold for my walk so have to get on bike. Not my fav.We had 7 ladies today so we got a lot done. They give out 64 last month. It is amazing how many we get done.
Think today may be black beans over rice with green onions on top.Or DH may want his bacon too.Anyway we will eat. Becca
Happy Birthday to your DH Carol.March is a good month.lol

Hi
) I haven't been on much lately, been a little crazy around here. LOL But never fear, we've been eating.
Tonight looks like Carne Asana, probably tacos for Frankie and salad for me and guacamole.
My oven is fixed now so I'm planning Easter dinner. I was making it but just not sure what became I didn't have my oven. I was just going to do a ham on the grill and cold everything else but now I can make scalloped potatoes and a pie or 2 plus cold salads and stuff.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 21st
Good afternoon from a cold, almost wintery, SW. Pa...We had our snow and hopefully, that's it! So sad to look outside and see the fat robins digging in the snow looking for their dinner..And then the green shoots that are starting to come up and probably wondering what happened....Sure wish Mother Nature would get her act together.....
Mary, it is so nice to come and see you getting the coffee/tea ready...It was really hard trying to get this group to eat while you were gone, lol...Sure am sorry to hear about the water leak but I'm sure "Handy Bill" will have it fixed in no time...Glad I'm thought of as the eagle lady, it could be much worse, lol.....And the robots didn't do as well this weekend..During 1 of the matches it started to smoke and Nick had to redo part of the system...But, they did make it to the quarter finals...From watching the robots AND the eagles hatching, my eyes are crossed....
Tina, your life is always a whirl wind, I don't know how you do it...Sounds like you're going to have a feast at your house, could you set an extra place for me?
Carol, Happy birthday to your hubby...Today is 1 of my lunch buddies birthday's also..She is a twin so it's an extra good day...Are you making a special dinner, with cake, for the birthday boy?
Becca, my heavens, you and those ladies are sure putting out the quilts...What a good deed and I'm sure very appreciated...How is your DH doing today? I often just look at Jim and wonder how this could have happened...It is terrible to watch someone who had been so active and vibrant, go down hill...But, dear friend, know, you are not alone....
Well, today being Monday, means wash day, right? So keeping with tradition, laundry is almost done, carpets are vacuumed, again and now it's time to play with my machine...After seeing the spring (tulip) runner in the photo section, I have to make one or attempt it...
As far as dinner, I'm thinking maybe a pot of chili...Seems like a good day for something like that..But, who knows, something else might fall from the freezer....And once again, baker is on strike...I baked more shamrock cookies on Sat. and there might be 1 or 2 left for afters....
Happy eating..............
Eagle update:
We do have a hatch in the nest near me and possibly a Pip in a 2nd egg but not sure...Mom eagle is very stingy about giving us a peek...Anyone wanting to see the nest can just google the Hays eagle cam....it will be quite a show when all 3 are hatched. Mom and Dad will certainly have their talons full.....

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 21st
Good afternoon from the windy plains. We have wind and fire advisories, so it's more than "normal" windy Kansas today. We had a trip to town to pick up our tax returns and get a back adjustment and Rx for DH. The Hooligans piled in after we returned from walking down to visit Ava earlier. There was no way they were coming inside after DH had left the car in the driveway! They just KNOW it will be leaving soon, and they can't miss it!!!
I didn't have to pick DH up off the floor or bring out the smelling salts at the accountant's office when he read the bottom line... thank goodness!!! It always hurts, but it could have been much worse.
Jana--our church had funeral potatoes for every funeral dinner, and I've seen it listed in church cookbooks as funeral potatoes. So funny! I think it was the only thing they cooked in DD's cooking class in what passed for "Home Ec". The sewing portion was just a big of a laugh. They may have sewn one seam.
All this bridge talk... I have closed my eyes and "went for it" more than once. We also had a lot of the one lane country bridges made of iron with wood plank floors that rattled like Ichabod Crane riding over them when we drove. MaryZ--the one at Aaron's was rescued from demolition when the replaced it with a concrete bridge years ago. They were happy to put it in Aaron's yard rather than haul it somewhere for disposal. Those bridges were interesting if a plank (or more) were broken and you didn't know it before driving over it.
You are right... Eagles/Irish... it's a thing! Always!!!
Tomorrow I WILL find my sewing room!!! I have some new thread to match my 30s fabrics, and I can't wait to catch up on Bloom! I didn't get last week's block made with DGD here.
Tonight... I think I can luck out and have one last night of smorgasbord. Tomorrow I will have to cook. Sigh!
Happy eatin!
