Supper club, Feb. 28th, Sunday.......

Post by Irishgram » Sun Feb 28, 2016 8:04 am

Good afternoon from a gorgeous, sunny, slightly chilly SW. Pa....It is really a super day here in the "burgh"......

I thought I'd better check on you gals and see if you're still eating....And then I noticed, I forgot to check in yesterday but we did eat...But, we went to early Mass and then on to breakfast and met up with 2 grand kids and Dan's girlfriend...Cari was here from Carlisle and I got to hear all about the her wedding plans...The girls have all picked out their dresses, she has all the center pieces made and all the flowers and the cake are taken care of..AND then she told us, she and Matt have been preapproved for a house...Things are going so well for the 2 of them...And I often think back when her "dad" made the remark, she'd not go far...Her company just gave her a promotion and a $4100 bonus....Apparently he didn't know his daughter...But, it was a great start to a really nice day......
We then came home and yep, you guessed it, read the paper and both fell asleep......I'm thinking a walk might be in the making.....

As for our dinner, I had made some hot sausage and sauce yesterday and Jim can have that tonight...Me, better stick to a salad...That hot stuff and my tummy just don't agree......And for afters, Girl Scout cookies, lots of them..........

Now, you all know, you have to eat...We can't have Mary stopping in and finding an empty table......
So, what's it going to be? Who's cooking tonight???

Happy eating...........

Good afternoon!

Irish, we too have been eating - everyone is here at the house, so we make room at the table for 19! My Daniel and family are leaving tomorrow morning for California. It will be back to quiet, well sort of, just Ethan.

We have had pot roast and trimmings, orange stuffed french toast made with croissants, and tonight will be enchiladas, rice beans, and tacos. Matt is bringing the majority of dinnrr, I am making tacos.

The weather is perfect here too - nice snd warm during the dsys, even up to 60.

Enjoy
Jana

Hi everybody, We will have homemade chicken strips, dirty rice and a salad for supper. Girl Scout cookies sounds like a great dessert. Our vehicles are yellow with pollen already. I really think this week I may have to plant something. Anything with roots! Good cooking and eating to all. "Past the lips, past the tongue, look out tummy here it comes!" Abita

I’m here! We’ve not been starving… far from it! Last evening was steak for DH and grilled portabella mushrooms for me. Salad and asparagus were the “sides”.

Tonight will be pulled pork from the crock pot. I put a tenderloin in earlier. I’m thinking I’ll have salad and Brussels sprouts with mine. DH will have the rest of the asparagus and a salad… probably a bun and BBQ sauce.

I’ve been doing laundry, hanging it out and in between pulling some weeds from the flower bed next to the clotheslines.

DH wanted pancakes for brunch today… pretty normal for Sunday. I made egg foo young for my plate, and it turned out wonderfully! I got some when we had Chinese take out a couple of weeks ago. It just wasn’t good at all! I was so disappointed.

Yesterday we went hiking on the federal lake property, and I fell in a hole and sprained my ankle. What a dumb thing to do!!! In my defense, the hole was covered with leaves, and I was using a hiking stick, but it missed the hole. Poor Tinker Bell fell in it after I did—very well concealed! I’m cripping around today with an elastic brace/sock on my ankle and wincing at the pain. Oh well… The weather is beautiful, so I’m not letting it keep me down!

Abita—I always like dirty rice and haven’t had it in ages. I know, “a moment on the lips, forever on the hips.” I have some weeding—does that count as “roots”?

Becca—I have a few jonquils blooming! I can’t believe it—such a happy little flower!

Jana—That’s a full table, and I know it will be full of food on top, too!!!

Enjoy!!!

Hi Everyone,
We have been eating here too. Yesterday was Fast Hash and Broccoli. Tonight will be pizza after we get back from the gym. (Wonder why I go?)
DH and I both gave up afters for Lent.

I have been making a rather complicated block and think I will continue at a slower pace. In the evenings it is difficult to get motivated to sew such a complicated block and I think I would sew more if it were more simple. I saw a Quilt in a Day Show last week where Eleanor showed Summer Porch done in batiks and black sashing. I purchased some yesterday and am now cutting it out. The batiks are in blue, green, aqua and purple, with just a little red. If you have Quilts through the season you will find it on page 185. I added purple and hope it will work out.

Have a good day everyone!
Carol
