SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Feb 19th
Good Morning!
I found another foodie quote you may find interesting: "It is illegal to give someone food in which has been found a dead mouse or weasel." - Ancient Irish Law A weasel??? Really???? Was that such a problem they had to make it a law????
We've got rain here. And lots of it. We are on the way to breaking the record for the rainiest (recorded) winter of all time in the PNW. Right now, we're sitting in third place, but only a fraction of an inch to go to win the "blue ribbon". Time to get out of Dodge! Jim is home, stable, and happy. Our friends, who live full-time in their fifth-wheel, are in So Cal, near Salton Sea, broke down. In 80-90 degree weather. So in a very sudden decision made yesterday afternoon, we are leaving Sunday and headed south to help out for a few weeks. And if we're honest here, helping out is merely the flimsy excuse we're using. We'd be going if DH had to go down there and puncture their tires to provide an good reason to "run to their rescue"! lol!
BECCA - I think it's a good idea to explore ALL options before submitting to surgery - especially on your eye. I have seen (and experienced myself) some amazing things with holistic health practices.
CHICKIE - Do you like working in the wood? I do - especially in nice weather - though there hasn't been much of that here lately! We've had a warm, wet winter. I do pray for the best possible outcome for your DD and DGK's and for YOU regarding their maybe move.
JANA - So nice of the Ward to bring food to your son's family! How far do they live from you? And when is Daniel coming to visit? I've forgotten. Was Daniel considering moving to Utah? I've forgotten that, too.
IRISH - Our rescued eagle looks like she has permanent damage to her talon. Not good . . . . A prayer to St. Francis of Assisi seems to be in order for her.
Tonite's supper will be leftover meatloaf, cold or hot yet to be determined. And I made an extra baked potato to cut up and fry with lots of onions. Add in the leftover green beans and a salad and we'll be in fat city!
What's the food story at your house for tonite?

Good morning everyone,sunny & to hit 60 today.So happy!!
Maryz Your plan sounds like a good one. After all the stress & company a rest is deserved & you are on a mission to help.So happy DB is able to be home.
Jana That is wonderful the Church is stepping up to help.Makes the new baby time easier.
Sorry to hear about the eagle being injured.Sad to know they can't be free again.
DDs SIL was going to bring our Dinner to motel the day of my surgery.I thought that was so sweet. She lives in the town.
Still have food cooked here.DH told DD she would have to come help eat it up.Suits me as I don't feel like cooking anyway. There is Spagetti and chicken pie.We can take our pick.
Happy eating everyone......Becca
Our heat pump got finished last nite about 7:00. Sure happy to know we are not using auxiliary heat.Do dread the bill coming.

Good morning!
Ha, ha, ha!!! Wonder if that’s where the song “Pop! Goes the weasel” came from??? Rats in a trap!!!
Our wind has subsided today. We had whitecaps on the pond yesterday!
I think you do need to get out of Dodge! Have fun!!! Any excuse is a great one!!!
I do enjoy helping with the wood—when it’s nice. When we burned wood, we did a lot of it in dead of winter wearing HEAVY coveralls and gloves and hats… not as much fun. I’m happy now to do it “whenever” and not “BECAUSE”. It’s fun now, not a chore.
I haven’t heard if there are any interviews scheduled… I don’t want to be selfish, but it’s o.k. if you are selfish for me!!!
We have steak again. There is one bowl of potato soup… might save that for tomorrow. I’ve talked myself into Brussels sprouts, baked sweet potato, salad and steak for DH…
Tina—I’m ALWAYS up for Mexican!!!
Lady Carol—your massage sounds like a bit of heaven!!! I just gain weight and fill in the wrinkles!
Becca—glad your heat source is fixed!!! Be sure you sit down when you open the bill!
Need to run… DH is back early today.

Good late morning from dreary but getting warm, Sw. Pa...We are having a mini heat wave, going into the 50s today and for the weekend so I won't complain, too much.....
Mary, Ancient Irish Law, huh? I'd say, they probably thought up that law after a long day at the local Pub...How nice of you and Bill to rush to the aid of friends...And then I was thinking, I feel "broken down" and could use some aid, what do you think????You don't even have to poke holes in my tires.....And your dinner has to be an all time favorite, especially the potatoes with lots of onions...I really should send you some of my relish to go with cold meatloaf sandwiches, nothing better, so Jim says.....How sad for that eagle and sad for it's mate...I know what Harriet went through when Ozzie didn't come home and it's terrible...
Becca, I can only imagine what you're going through, wondering what to do about your eye...But, you know, maybe the delay in surgery was the answer to all the prayers being said...Will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers...Things will work out, I'm sure...And how nice to have someone offer to bring dinner to the motel...And happy to hear you have the heat pump working.....
Lady Carol, a massage, that would be heaven....Had to laugh about being wrinklely but so agree....Also laughed at you telling Mary you would be a good girl if she'd take you with her..Think about it Carol, it would be fun to be with Mary but would it be fun if you were a good girl???Just sayin........
I need to get busy....Not real sure at what but something...I told Jim, I can't seem to shake this "weird" feeling, almost like I have a hang over but darn, hadn't been drinking...So, maybe if I tackle Mt. Washmore or something, I'll feel better....
For our dinner, it will be new food but not sure just what...But, with Lent, you all know that means some form of "mac n cheese"...Might talk Jim into walking down to the fire hall and bringing back dinner...Have to support the local firemen, right????
I am going to bake some zucchini bread so we'll have afters.....
Happy eating............
