Supper Club - Feb.17, Wednesday
Good morning! I’m going to set the table today because it’s hard to get back here later…
Jana—know this is a BIG day for you and your family!
Lady Carol—Now I feel a connection to the pancake races in England, not just in Kansas through you! Small world!!! Oh, we have the “IDIOTS” here, too!!! Always ready to jump in and squash the fun! The cheese rolling would be funny, too. Sounds like something Wisconsin communities might do here. Fat Tuesday may be a name that is more connected with Mardi Gras and the food and festivities before Lent… a day of gluttony with Bacchus the king of libations.
Irish—we had pancakes here on Sunday. Grandma used to make them for supper when we were growing up. They are the ultimate comfort food! Who can’t be happy with pancakes! So sorry for Terry’s problems with “her”… So sad for the boys, too! Hope he gets to be closer soon! That’s just so sweet about the eagles in your area!
Mary—I know what your dinner is… such great news about Jim!!! Isn’t that just a miracle!!!
Tonight we are working through leftovers. I think mashed potatoes will be repurposed into potato soup with side of salad and hushpuppies—left from you-know-what and them… DGD’s request because she doesn’t get it at her house. It’s all gone from here now… just the hush puppies are left… so good!
Enjoy!

Good morning!
He is finally here! Baden Michael, I hope, arrived safely and weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz and 21 1/2 inches. He is healthy and doing well and so is his mom. I will get my hands on him later tonight.
So that will make dinner out! After having all five of the little grands here today, I will need it! LOL
Here in this family, I have 4 children, 4 spouses, 10 grand children and the two of us - you would think that the birthday spread throughout the months would be fairly even - nope - we have 4 in January and now 5 in February. Well at least we get all the parties over in a hurry! LOL
Baden arrived on his cousin's birthday - today is Gracie's actual birthday.
Enjoy,
Jana

Chickie sorry Tasha had to go home, you sound like you have such a great time together, I really hope they don't move just because of that.
Our supper last night was good but no leftovers.
Tonight's supper will be a small steak cooked on the grill and we'll split it, salad and maybe a baked sweet potato split.

Good morning from another dreary, cold, SW. Pa...I think the weather people are predicting something but not sure just what! Just know, it's sure not spring.....
Well, good morning Chickie...So happy to see you get the table ready and the coffee/tea started.....I also have found, if I don't come here kind of early, I'm off the rest of the day and never get back, most times....I did have the weather on this morning and it looks like your area is going to have some warm temps but they did give fire warnings...Always something to worry about....
I keep telling Terry, going through this mess will just make him stronger and the future much better....But, it sure is hard to hear or see him hurting....But, this too shall pass....
There sure isn't much happening in this household today....Jim has been trying to talk me into going to Walmart (he needs a couple things)...He doesn't want to go out, he just wants me to go but it's not going to work...Maybe if the sun comes out tomorrow...Now if I needed something from JoAnn's, that would be a different story, right???
I have a feeling, I'm going to stay in my "playroom" all day, which is great....
As for our dinner, there is still a lot of veggie soup left from yesterday and I know it will taste much better tonight..Jim did eat the last of the goodies so I might break down and bake, maybe.....
Hope everyone is well and staying safe and warm....
Happy eating..............

Congrats Jana on your sweet bundle of joy.So happy Mom & baby are fine.
That is a big family.Ours keeps growing.
Hello everyone,Sunny here today & in50s.Supposed to get warmer each day.
Sounds good to me.
Surgery is cancelled due to U TI.Said bacteria could go to eye. After talking to DD I think I am waiting until Summer or Fall & see what happens.Sometimes it progresses & sometimes not.He said I am legally blind in that eye.The problem is there is no guarantee how much vision will be restored.Such a big decision but I feel it may be best to watch it for a while.Sorry to write a book.
Chickie Do hope DGD stays at least as close as she is now. Those visits are so great for both of you.I had one close but DD has never lived closer that 2 hrs away. Now she is 3 hrs.
Irish I understand your pain about DS.One of our DSs is going thru a very rough 3 yrs now.Sad to see a family break up.It has been heartbreaking for us to watch. After so many years together.Sending you sunny thoughts to make your day brighter.
Tina Happy to hear Preston was fine.Know it was a relief.
Yesterday I made spaghetti in prep for my being gone.So we will have that or the leftover beans.Cherry pie for DH......Becca

Re: Supper Club - Feb.17, Wednesday
Good afternoon! The dogs and I returned from our walk, and I was taking a little break and checked in to see “baby status”.
Congratulations, Jana, to you and your fine family! So glad everyone is doing well! Yes, you definitely deserve dinner out with a bit of hands-on with Baden! DH had three boys—all with April birthdays. There were some family jokes about “once a year”… April is definitely the popular month here with several more in April among the grands and other family.
My DD shocked me by announcing that SIL had applied for a job six hours away. I think I may have told you… Of course, he MAY NOT get the offer… If they move, that will kind of put a stop to meeting half-way… only 30 minutes for the long weekends. Guess it would be 3 hours half way if that happens… sigh!!! This is the farthest DD has lived from me… I don’t know how my Grandma stood it with Mom living in CA and she living in KS. We got together in summers… love those Santa Fe and Union Pacific trains!
Irish—I think I still have some goodies here for afters and DH’s sweet tooth. I never think of dessert—you’d think after almost 11 years with DH, I would remember that unless steak is involved that’s the most important part of his dinner!
Tina—did I tell you how glad I was that Preston was o.k.? That was a great report; he’s definitely thriving!
Becca—Oh, that’s too bad about the cancellation… if you can wait, however, the weather should be much better. We will be hoping for a remission miracle!!! I would be devastated if the move happens, but guess I’d get used to it.
I told DH I’d be back to help him load wood, so guess I’ll fill up a water bottle and head over to where the cutting is happening. I love this weather!!!

Re: Supper Club - Feb.17, Wednesday
Good afternoon!
I am so late. Mea culpa x3! We have been splitting and stacking 1-1/2 cords of wood at Jim's and with a storm moving in, we wanted to get over there early to try to get it finished to surprise him when he got home - which is tomorrow!! As it happened a family friend stopped by and started to help and soon after that here came my nephew, so many hands made the work happen much faster. We beat the storm! Now we're home for lunch, showers, and then off to Costco and grocery shop before going to get pizzas to take into the hospital for supper.
JANA - congratulations!!! A new baby! I bet you can't wait to get him into your gramma arms!
Got to rush. Tonite is turning into a celebration and my nephew is coming along now, too, riding with us. (nephew is 50 yrs old).
I'll catch up tomorrow!
