SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Feb 8th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Feb 08, 2016 4:01 am

good Morning!

What a great game! Sorry, BECCA, but everyone in our house is pretty happy with the game. But thought the commercials were mostly duds.

TINA - I hope your folks can get some Meals on Wheels delivered. It doesn't seem like such a reach to drive a few extra miles, especially if they re dropping off several days of frozen meals.

Not a lot of time this morning. The swiss steak yesterday was voted down so it was pasta last night. Tonite, our friends asked if they could bring a couple of rotisserie chickens over and visit my sisters. So I am doing a big salad and lemon rice pilaf. Another couple is bringing dessert.

It should be good eatin'!

Good morning everyone,We are getting snow but the temp is 37 so no sticking.Hope it stays that way.

Maryz That is the first Super Bowl I have ever been interested in & it may be the last.lol I told my DGS that you never know until the game is over.Maybe another year.
Enjoy your gathering.

It was a great visit with my BF yesterday. We laughed & DH told her she could have her own show. She kept us laughing. And she brought me a gift & DH banana nut bread which he loves. We have been friends forever it seems & enjoy the same interests except she doesn't quilt.

Tina Do hope the people will drive the few miles if they bring a weeks worth.Yours sounds a lot better than what my Mom & Dad would have received.

We have ribs left. Will add oven fries for DH.salad & a green veggie for me.Banana nut bread for afters. Becca

Good morning from a semi sunny, not too cold, SW. Pa....We're not getting the snow from Becca until later today.....

Mary, During the game, I kept thinking, bet your house was jumping, even if the "flying sibs" aren't football fans...that was quite a game and I was so happy with the outcome..I certainly hope the nasty things that have been written lately about Manning prove to be wrong but in my mind, he's a good guy....

Becca, how nice to have a visit from a good friend and for that friend to bring goodies, makes it even better....And it's never too late to get her into the quilting....

Before the wet stuff decides to fall, I need to make an Aldi run and a few other errands...We have a little group at church who makes meals for new parents and we have 2 brand new babies....So, need to get some fixings for a couple of dishes...At one time, I had made a bunch of baby quilts and each new baby would get one but I've been very lax in my projects...Need to get back to it!
Other than that, I have nothing planned for the day but I'm sure something will find me.....Even my cat sitting is over, DGS got back from Jamaica late last night.....

As for dinner, whatever I decide to make for the new parents will be on our table also...I am thinking of stuffed shells, Italian bread and a salad....Sounds pretty good, and easy.......

Happy eating..............

All of your suppers sound soooooo good! Irish I haven't had those for ages but when I read what you might be fixin I could just taste em :o)Becca, we have a freezer with quite a few loaves of Banana Nut Bread and Pumpkin Cranberry bread, Frankie loves having it on call :o) Mary, I was wondering how your flying sibs liked the game, I bet your house was rambunctious, ours was very quiet LOL

We have leftover veggie soup and that will be supper and I'm so glad because today is Monday which means the Bloom block was posted so I can get that done tonight Woohoo!

Good morning,

Sorry Becca, but it was a great game. We enjoyed watching it. Even Ethan was learning to cheer with Grandma.

Mary - glad that there is improvement still. How much longer is everyone staying?

Yesterday at church we were asked to be a host house for a Ward dinner at the end of the month. It's just adults and we will have 8 - 10 for dinner. I supply the main dish and the others bring the sides. Then after dinner we gather at the church for games and dessert. Should be lots of fun. Now to decide on the main dish - I have a couple of ideas - pot roast or a beef roast. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Tonight I will do a chicken something, maybe enchiladas.

Chickie - while we were at the grocery store on Saturday, I saw something just for you - siracha coated popcorn. Watch for it - it was in a prepopped bag.

Enjoy,
Jana

Jana--it sounds delicious! Seriously. I have made my popcorn with a squirt of sriracha in my kettle corn--sweet and spicy!

I took DGD home this evening. We stopped at Mom's on the way and showed her the Mondo Bag that we made with her FQ purchases from the LQS on Saturday. It is modern brights and really chic. Mom really liked it. DGD was too funny. We had added six or so FQS from my stash to make the bag. Today when she was packing to go home... DGD took ALL the leftover fabric --including mine--and packed it to take home with her stuff. That's her way of stash building!

On the way home I realized I seriously needed fuel, so I swung through town and picked up dinner at Braum's... steak sandwich for DH and grilled chicken salad for me. Then I went to get gas. To save dinner for DH and i, I had to put the dinner sack on the hood of my truck. You see, I had a cab full of furbabies. All three dogs accompanied me to Pittsburg. They miss our girl! Since we have been home, Bomer has been looking all over for her.

Guess we are back to "normal" here tomorrow.

Good Evening!
This is a report of what we had for dinner. We had leftover pork chop skillet supper. I made it yesterday during halftime and we ate during 4th quarter.

Today I got a call at 6:15 to work. It is a short day so got out at 1:30 by the time I left it was almost 2:00. I had a dental cleaning appointment so I got home at 5:15 to reheat dinner. It was a busy day!

Becca - Glad you had a friend visit. I am sure you enjoyed it!

Irish - It is so nice of you to think of those young families. I am sure they really enjoy the meals.

Tina - Your house sounds like ours - quiet.

Jana - A nice dinner to prepare and friends to make too. Sounds really good!

Chickie - Sounds like a good idea to put dinner on the hood while you were getting gas. Didn't the dogs eat your dinner another time?

Have a great day Tuesday!
Carol
