good stormy morning! It's pouring rain and windy today. I think being a weenie, my morning walk will be cancelled. Even Scottie didn't want to go out this morning!

We have CAROLS!! Two of them! So happy you are back among us, Ladies!

CAROL 7, in this group, you ARE a celebrity! Bask in the glory and congratultions on that quilt!

LADY CAROL - so sorry you've been under the weather. I hope you can enjoy your weekend. Sounds like you could use some R&R!

IRISH - I checked out the link you posted yesterday. There are two babies in the next and still one egg to go. Such fun to watch them! Such gentle parents. Happy cat sitting! Will the kitty come to you or will you go to the kitty?

TINA - sounds like your mom resents any attention given to someone who is not her. How did she manage to raise a giving, generous DD like you?? Hope your dad is able to get out of there soon. Maybe he would like his guitar? He plays, right? No housekeeping on weekends?!!? Our state would shut them down! I used to work in such a facility before I got the 'baby gig', and it was spotless - every day.

BECCA - hope you can get off your mountain today. And then hurry home so you can sew. I LOVE hurrying home to sew! I've been called an addict. . . .

CHICKIE - haha!! I'm trying to picture my sis sitting up in bed with her coffee - at 5am - and smiling and chatting as I sew. lol!! Not if I value my life! She is younger, but always beat me up as a kid. She is so not a morning person! and I sew am!!

JANA - how is all that baby sewing going? With Ethan's help you should have no problem, right?

We are ready for company except for a last minute vacuum and a few loads of wash - all tomorrow. So I am free today to sew - R/W/B swap blocks. I would love to get them finished before the sisters arrive.

Thank you all for the prayers for my DB. He needs them. But so do so many others in our group lately. Teresa's DH is having open heart surgery today and Judi's DH is having shoulder surgery next Tuesday and Mary/Rosebud's hubby is very sick, too. I pray everyone does well.

Supper - we'll, we've still got half of that meatloaf hanging around in the fridge. Not sure if DH wants it reheated, cold in a sandwich, or crumbled in spaghetti sauce. But he will get it in some form.

what form will your supper be taking tonite?

Good morning,

Mary - your storms are aiming at me - snow coming until Monday. I stocked up and we are ready! It will be nice to have your family there for support.

Ethan does help - in a good way. He has learned to start the embroidery going on my machine. The only problem is that I have to wait for him each time I change threads or he gets upset at me. He loves to help.

Groceries, tp and eggs are in and so are my new cabinets for me to build. I have enough to keep me busy through the snowstorms.

I got a chuck roast yesterday, so it will see the crockpot today. Will probably add browned rice instead of potatoes and green beans to grace the rest of dinner. For afters I have a piece of hay pie, better known as coconut cream pie. DH swears that they add hay, hence the nane. He is not fond of coconut.

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone,Sunny today & melting the snow that remains.
Irish Wishing I could share. It makes my day brighter. Those little babies take their time.Coming out to face a cruel World.

Maryz We did get off the Mtn for the first time in a wk.Got restocked & had shots. And ran by Quilt shop.
Know it is nearing the surgery day.Prayers will continue for all.
We do have a lot of needs in our group.

Jana Your Ethan sounds like our DGS used to be.Now he is grown with 4 little ones.He was a real help even up until he moved away.If we had rain,Wind,Snow or any kind of weather he would call to see if we needed anything.Such a sweetheart.

Carol Sure hope you get to go on outing.

Carol7 Congrats on your quilt.Quite an honor.

DH wants HDogs, chips for him.Homemade soup for me.Our trip to grocery almost caused a HAttack..We needed a lot of big items & it all adds up. Becca

Good afternoon!

Carol7—I definitely agree… you and Lori are celebrities!!! That’s a prestigious honor to be accepted! ENJOY!!!

Great idea to give Tina’s dad his guitar! He might never want to leave the rehab, because I know he would be a celebrity and his music enjoyed. I can’t believe she is Tina’s mother, either!!!

O.K.—bad idea about coffee with your sis in the early mornings. I’m no longer a morning person, but I could be to get to spend time with you!

I saw the cutest post on Clover and Violet blog about sewing with kids. It might be fun for Ethan. They glue down scraps that you cut, then you sew them and make a bag or quilt for them. They think they did it. He could “make” something for baby!

Our meat loaf and stuffed peppers was excellent last evening. There is enough for dinner tonight. Brown rice sounds like a good side and something green. DH dug into the poblano pepper and said it was really good. I’ll get him hooked on Mexican food yet!

Jana—it’s un-American to not love coconut cream pie! I guess it’s one of those things—coconut: you either love it or hate it. I don’t know many people that are indifferent. I LOVE!!!

Have a super day!

Mary, sadly I can't take Dad's guitar to him, they keep their house locked and I'm not privy to the key. Mom didn't use to be like she is. I always used to spend as much time with them both but Dad was usually outside so me and Mom used to spend lots of time together and it was always enjoyable, we used to be really close, I guess that's why it bothers me so much now, she's a totally different person. Dad told me the sadest thing the other day, he doesn't think Mom will be around much longer, he's doubtful she'll be here this Christmas :-(

I think we're having chicken fried steaks for supper. I'll have salad with mine, I'll make Frankie fried potatoes and then some kind of veggie.

Once again it was more important to cook dinner than write about it. Tonight's dinner is in the oven and almost done. It is Parmesan Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli and a salad. There is ice cream and cookies in the freezer and oranges fresh from the tree to choose from for dessert.

Jana - So sorry about the lady in your ward. My prayers for her and her family. I know you will all help to make up for the loss.

Becca - Glad to hear you were able to get off the mountain for restocking! We may not enjoy going to the grocery store, but far better than having no food.

Maryz- Sounds like you are ready for a family visit. You also sound excited to see your siblings, even if the circumstances are not the best. Prayers for your DB and his wife.

Thank you all for your words of congratulations. It was quite wonderful.

I have been in a second grade class this week because the teacher is pregnant and 5th disease (also known as slapped cheek or parvovirus) is going around. It is very dangerous for pregnant woman and compromise immunity. The blood test showed that she had never had it.
