SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Dec 20th

Good morning!
We've got our wind back this morning. I hope we don't get much blow-down this time. I'm tired of raking and picking up branches!
Our family Christmas was very nice! I personally thought my dinner turned out awesome! My chef-in-training DGS even complimented my dressing! But boy, was I pooped last night! Everyone seemed to like their gifts, especially our 22 yr old grandson who now has $4,000 saved up towards his first fixer-upper house. He was so excited to receive a Skil circular saw from us! My gift was an "oil" portrait of my three kids, made from a photo and printed on a canvas. But the centerpiece of our day was when, after I set the table but before the family arrived. I had the empty bread basket sitting on the table and looked over and there's our Foxy cat with his big old self crammed into that basket, all curled up, his tail and a couple of legs spilling over, sound asleep! We just couldn't stop laughing! Even when all the granddogs arrived, he just blandly stared at them, never moving. of course, both Bill and my DD got it on Facebook immediately! So I need to get a new bread basket now. The cat has definitely outgrown this one! lol!
JANA - sorry the big game wasn't going your way. But if you don't drink, it might be a good time to start! lol!! I hope your 'Niners do better for you today.
TINA - congrats on getting that quilt finished! What a marathon for you! And sounds like your day yesterday was jam-packed, too. But I bet your furr-babies are all sparkly for the holidays! Is everyone coming to your house on Christmas Eve or Day? or Both??
BECCA - I think sugar cookies, cut in simple shapes like bells, stars, and trees, and then sprinkled with a bit of colored sugar, would be really festive! We used to decorate them when the kids were little, but for me - frosting made them too sweet!
CHICKIE - you really know how to pack a lot into one day! The highlight of your day, for me, would be the yahtzee with the DGS! I love games with family. How was the lunch with Anna Mae's family? And what games did you play there? (can you tell, I'm a game freak! Bill and I both LOVE games!)
IRISH - I hope you got your take-out yesterday! The way I feel this morning, I can't even stand the thought of someone else having to cook let alone me! lol! and yes, those black and white kitties! Ours was such a hoot yesterday!
Well, it's Sunday. That means breakfast with my DB and SIL. We thought they might not be up to it after the week they had, but on Friday he seemed livlier than ever - for him, anyway. So off we go this morning. And supper, of course, is in the fridge. Leftovers of everything!
The countdown is really on now. What are your plans for your holiday meals?
Go 'Hawks!!
