SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Dec 19th

Good Morning! It's still dark here, but I don't think it's raining! Hallelujah!! It's been so gloomy here that our outdoor Christmas lights are coming on at 2:30 in the afternoon!
I gave Warren his quilt last night and while he doesn't show much emotion on his face or in his eyes since his stroke, the look he gave me said how much he appreciated that quilt. Brought tears to my eyes!
IRISH - Tell your sis I really like her a lot! If we could just do Mexican now and then instead of Chinese . . . . And a new grandkitty! and black and white - the best of the best! I'm jealous.
TINA - I bet you really needed Calgon to take you away last night! Even I was exhausted just reading your post! Glad you got to go out to eat.
BECCA - Are you making your sugar cookies into shapes and decorated or simply round and sugared? I won't be making any this year, though I have a recipe I just found for pinwheel cookies made with chocolate and vanilla dough. I think for Christmas it would be fun to make them red and white instead. The recipe was in a cooking-themed paperback I just finished. I may try that - next week. I'm also thinking of making Mary Q's Mom's Cranberry Bread.
Today is our family Christmas so I'll be putting on a turkey dinner. Just turkey breast as no one here likes the dark meat. And Bill HATES the smell of a simmering turkey carcass. So I no longer do an entire bird. We'll also be having mashed potatoes/gravy, dressing, succotash, green beans, pineapple casserole, and a tuxedo torte (from Costco). And the usual tray of pickles, olives, and cranberries. And I got a text from my Dd last night that said she was bringing a blueberry pie. I think we'll be well fed! Both my DD and DIL want to bring appetizers, too.
Anyone who is in the neighborhood, feel free to stop in! We've got plenty!
