SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Dec 17th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Dec 17, 2015 3:46 am

Good Morning,

Thank you all for your prayers for Jim. the news is both good and bad. Cancer is in his prostate, bladder, and urinary tract. They removed some, but couldn't get it all. Labs will be back within a week as to what kind of cancer and what state it is in. Doc led us to believe that it's probably not curable, but is manageable - at least for a few years. Which is pretty much what I expected to hear.

IRISH - I could feel your vibes coming from the east. thank you. that shopping area sounds so cool! maybe one of these days . . . .sorry your Omaha steaks place is gone. But you can order them, can't you?

CHICKIE - haha! I saw that article, too! The only one I knew I WASN'T was the one who had a bunch of projects in progress. I rarely start one project while another is 'on the table'. I just have no room for two or more at the same time.

BECCA - I've been working on yo-yo's to make more garland for our tree. But today, I think I'm going to make a sample of one of those ornaments you told me about.

TINA - You are probably either running around like crazy or sleeping the sleep of the exhausted! Only one more babysitting day after today!

JANA - I think that sleigh idea to hold all the presents is brilliant! Not to mention absolutely cute! Put that with the train and the kitty and your living room must be magical! I have my collection of big ceramic cats under my tree, perched on top of gifts.

I haven't heard anything from Lady Carol for a long time. sometimes she's on FB, but I'm seldom there myself so if she's posted anything, I've missed it. I wish she'd stop by! I, too, miss her witty posts!

Tonite, we are having two couples over for supper. So I'm going to make lasagna. I haven't made it in a long time, so cross your fingers for my guests!!

Do you know - only 5 days until the days start getting longer again?

Good morning,

Mary - glad that you now know about Jim. Yes, I do know the days will be longer soon! I want to rearrange my bedroom to look towards the south, but Michael keeps reminding me that the sun would be in our eyes. We will see.

Dinner - stroganoff with noodles.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good late morning from a very, dreary, sunless, soggy, SW. Pa...Yep, we knew it was coming but we sure were wishing it would stay away....But, those people in the know are saying, Christmas day will be back in summer like weather...Hope Santa has his shorts and tee shirts ready.....And boy am I looking forward to the days being longer even if it's just a minute or 2...Gee before we know it, spring will be here...(I can dream a little, can't I?)

Mary, sorry to hear about the cancer but as I've said before, you're a family of fighters and with all the prayers being sent his way, don't rule out miracles.....
Our day yesterday was great even if Omaha had closed it's doors...Yes I have ordered on line but boy do I hate to pay their shipping...I did notice, if you order a larger "package" the shipping is free and you still don't get as much as the deals you get at the store....The kids might have to do without their steaks this year......

Today is a "stay inside" kind of day....Going to do laundry, tackle the last of the throws and hopefully get the tree up and decorated...
I "fringed" one last night while watching the Survivor final and thinking of Joanne...I wonder if she still watches that show and hoping she not having problems with her hands...Do miss my "next door state neighbor".....

As far as dinner, that's really up in the air...It's a good day for soup so, that might be happening....Should start baking cookies but I really don't see that happening so Jim might have to resort to graham crackers......

Happy eating..............

Good afternoon! Mary—that is good and bad news, but manageable is good considering his other health issues. That’s just way too much!!!

Ha! So you did see the article—you are definitely Organized Olivia. You have seen my sewing room, so you know I am all of the others rolled into one Chaos Cathy!!! I’m definitely Messy Mimmy!!! I am REALLY going to try to do better… it’s just that those shiny things are so attractive… sigh! I need to keep off social media, out of print media, blinders at the LQS… (at least until after Christmas)…

Irish—we are chilly and gray here, too. I’m so ready for the longer days!!! My phone weather says snow, but it must not be hitting the ground. It looks and feels like it could dump on us. Just what I don’t need for a road trip tomorrow! I didn’t know there was such a thing as an Omaha Steaks store. I’m so sheltered. They advertise in the local paper this time of year.

Jana—I miss our east bedroom! I got up earlier when the sun was in my face. Now, we are on the west…

The dogs and I had a very brisk walk down to play with my great grand dog today. I’m ready for warmer weather! Yes, I do know we haven’t had winter yet. Sigh!

Dinner tonight is Cajun flavored ham and black, white and black-eyed peas beans tonight with cornbread. There are a few chocolate chip cookies for afters.

It IS snowing… barely… just a light sifting of fine flakes…
