SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Dec 7th
Good Morning!
Remembering Pearl Harbor today - even though I wasn't even born. What an impact on our country, the world, and thousands of families who lost a beloved hero that day. God bless them.
And it's also opening day if you are in the SS swap! I have my package ready with the box cutter for when Bill wakes up. Wakey, wakey, Billy-Bean . . .
bean . . . hmmm. . . . beans sound good - a pot of pinto beans and ham. Over boiled potatoes. But I haven't got any beans. Or ham. I guess it will be chicken parmesan, rice, and salad. Or homemade pizza. Where ever I can use the rest of my spaghetti sauce.
IRISH - how are you feeling?? I'm guessing not up to cooking - right?!
TINA - I always wondered how to use those dried red chilies! We've bought a bunch a few times when going through Hatch and gave them to my Mexican friend. Wishing your family good luck today in Kevin's court.
BECCA - those ornaments you made - what size circle did you begin with? Did you put anything in between the circles - like batting or flannel?
CHICKIE - your impromptu supper using the pitchfork sounds fun! I was thinking yesterday how nice a campfire would be - but it was mostly pouring rain outside here. Except for the short window when we went out to cut wood. How's the sewing coming along? Are you going to make it?
JANA - Is the decorating all done now? Do you have any sewing to be done for Christmas? I'm sending you all the makings for snow that I can. The rest is up to you.
ABITA - congratulations on the upcoming GIRL baby! What fun! We haven't had any new babies for more than 18 years. We keep hoping, though.
Today will probably be woodcutting. And I'm starting to make a list of winter sewing projects and gather up fabric, patterns, tools, etc. for projects to work on when we are in Texas in February. I'm even doing the cutting now if I can because then they take up so much less room than yards of folded fabric.
Meanwhile, back to supper plans - got any?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Dec 7th
I'm still sewing... need to get in there in a few minutes. I'm still hoping to get finished in time. I may be down to the wire, but what's new with that? I used to sit up sewing right until opening time on Christmas morning and pull an all nighter. Oh, to be organized and efficient!!!
I think tonight will be some stuffed poblano peppers. They jumped into my cart Saturday--deep rich shiny green... I'm really craving Mexican flavors again. Poor DH... maybe he will eat the stuffing... I'm sure he will survive.

Good morning,
Mary - yes, there is always something to sew here! Sarah is making 2 rag quilts for her in- laws and a pair of jammies for Ethan. I will no doubt be involved! As decorating goes, I still have my tree - the lights being changed are right above the tree, so it had to be moved, hence, I still need to put the ornaments on.
Chickie- love mexican!
Soup is finally gone - so probably will make something mexican - tacos or enchiladas.
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello from sunny NC.Nice day & 56.can sure live with that everyday.
Maryz Some of mine were 71/2 & the bigger ones 81/2. They can be any size you want.I put no batting in between.Wouldnt turn good if you did I am afraid.
Tina Prayers that all goes well for DS.Our Court system is so flawed.Sorry to say.Too many lawyers get involved & slow the process. My DH would really appreciate all your Mexican cooking skills.
Irish Hope you are healing nicely. And taking it easy.
Jana Your House must be all decorated by now.I am finished except the live greenery I will cut closer to the weekend.
Chickie Know you will get it all complete.I don't do good when it comes to last minute things.Have to have it done as soon as possible.
Has anyone made the ribbon candy ornaments? Did you use the grogain ribbon & how wide?
We have CA medley,cranberry sauce I made,beets & will add tenders chicken...Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Dec 7th
Good early afternoon from semi sunny, a little chilly, SW. Pa...But, I keep thinking, it's going to come, we're going to get hit, but so far, this is great......
I love, love reading about all the new babies....It's been awhile since we've had a new one...I've saved all my baby yarn, just in case someone in the family announces they are in the "family way"....
Haven't been doing too much but decided, enough is enough, need to get with it...Did a little decorating, nothing like before but enough...Just need to get the tree from the shed and into the living room..I did tell Nick, since he won't be here in time to decorate it, I'll leave it up until he comes back in the spring and he can take it down...
My boo boo is coming along nicely, only time it hurt was the 1st time I tried to change he bandage and it was stuck to the stitches, not fun...And to had to my vision of loveliness, woke up yesterday with left eye almost swollen shut and nice black and blue shadows., but this will be better soon......
AND poor Jim has been going through "goodie withdrawal" so I made him an apple pie this morning and for dinner, I made chicken ala king.....So all is good in this household.....
Happy eating.................

Just a quick note - I did make tacos - I ate one, Michael ate three and Ethan ate three as well. Can you say, two stomachs and two hollow legs! LOL He is only almost 4!
