SUPPER CLUB - Friday the 13th!

Good Morning!
We are having quite the weather system blowing through. No twisters or hurricanes or Texas-sized flooding, but still, very attention-getting for us Northwesterners who are accustomed to generally quite mild weather.
TINA - how did the Zuppa Toscana turn out? Isn't that a lot like minestrone soup? I've had Z.T. in restaurants and it was yummo! My salsa-making marathon is over. Whew! I ended up with 24 pints. Personally, I could wish it were a bit spicier, but since I made it for Christmas and hostess gifts, mild is probably better. Now to cut fabric circles, pink them, and add them to my jars under the ring. Presentation is everything!
CHICKIE - your birthday cake sounds a lot like something I would love! Pineapple, coconut, rum... what's not to like! Hope your day was special! Relieved to hear your mom is doing so much better.
JANA - I love your term, "quick and dirty"! I think I'm going to steal that one! And I know little Tanner is going to love it!
BECCA - I bet you are busy being over the moon over that new baby girl! Love her name - Charleigh Rae! Is it pronounced "Charlie"?
Supper tonite? Hmmmm.. We are supposed to go to a "wine social" at the home of a couple we don't know very well. We've never been to their house before. We have mutual friends, but those friends are in Tennessee right now. So we will know no one else there. which is OK, but it's always nicer if there's a familiar face in the crowd. We're taking an appetizer (cheese and crackers) and DH is pulling out one of his better wines. Personally, I'd rather stay home and watch Last Man Standing, but that would be being a "stick in the mud", or so I was told. LOL! And that's probably true. So, the take-away here is that dinner will be cocktail food, and I will be a good sport!
What will your plate be sporting tonite?
