SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Nov 7th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Nov 07, 2015 3:07 am

Good morning!

I woke up at 4:28 this morning with a dog tushie sharing my pillow. It's bad enough when it's his face! But that's how herd dogs are - We get his back end while his front end is supposedly watching out for whatever it is he imagines he's watching out for.

JANA - so did the kids spend the night in their new house last night? And did any new trains come home to live with you? And how did your activity girs' brunch go? I most definitely think you deserve dinner out tonite!

IRISH - that's the way it is here, too! Everyone's shopping like it's Dec 24th! (which, by the way, is only 47 days away.) So did you get all your nothing accomplished or do you still have some more to work on?

CHICKIE - did you hear? 47 days. What all is on your 'gotta do' list?

BECCA - good news on the shoes! And the nice-weather walk. On my walk yesterday, we walked through an established neighborhood we hadn't been in for a long time, and found them clearing for 18 new homes. BIG homes! This brings the total of NEW builds to about 65 in 4 developments. With another 30 planned in back of us. Add that to the 40 they've built in the last few years and we've got quite a crowd growing around us! All within a 10-min walk or less of our place.

TINA - pine trees are my favorite trees! Are you transplanting them along your property line? Next time I 'stop by", maybe I'll get some baby pines from you!

I got all my uglies done yesterday and the laundry as well. yay for me! We also finished DDIL's dog quilt and it's all wrapped for her surprise 40th birthday party this afternoon. So no cooking for me tonite! The downside is that the restaurant we'll be at is expensive, is over an hour away through awful traffic, and we're supposed to get wind and rain and dark this evening. But - I'm not cooking!! :o) !!

What's the story in your kitchen tonite?

My gotta do list is longer than the number of days... I am in crunch time!

Tonight... no stress... meeting friends for dinner out!

I''''m on my way to meet my friend and see Mom. Hopefully DD and DGD can come over for lunch with Mom and an afternoon here at the farm... fingers crossed!

Mary, she''''s going to love the quilt!!! I will drive through wind and rain not to cook too!

Mary, for sure you can have some baby pine trees :-)
Chickie, I'm not going to be able to get my quilts done I had planned, my LAer fell too far behind so mine will be next years Christmas and I've already decided what I'm substituting for this year. Oh well, good news is, it shouldn't be a rush for next year :-) I'm a glass half full kinda gal ;-)
I'm not sure what supper is tonight, we have Holly and Easton's birthday today, I know cake and ice cream will be at 3, maybe I could call that supper and then have a salad for dessert :-) sounds good to me LOL

Good morning from a semi dreary, slightly cooler, Sw. Pa....The yard that was so nicely raked and leaf free the other night is once again covered....I kept telling Jim, wait until they all come down but no, he didn't listen, lol.....Even better, wait for the wind to blow them into the next door neighbor's yard, right.......My Mom didn't raise no dummy.......

Mary, I certainly did work on that "accomplishing list"...I took a long nap with BabyGirl and even missed dinner...I had gotten a heated throw, so the 2 of us had to try it out, right.....Works great!

Now today is a different story...Downstairs is done, upstairs needs vacuumed and the laundry is half done...I told Jim I had a list of things that needs done before Thanksgiving and he promptly got that glazed over look and turned off his ears.....
But, I'll let it slide for today....All he has on his mind is the Notre Dame/Pitt game that starts in 45 minutes.....Normally, I take the sports page and mark all the channels next to the games but he said, just need ND today.....You would think this was the Super Bowl, lol.....

And after reading all the posts and seeing that no one is cooking, I'm sure not going to be the odd one (and don't be laughing)....That big dinner that I had planned will be put on hold along with the apple pie that won't get baked.....Jim is big enough to fend for himself and I have my bag of chips, so we're good to go.......

Happy eating....................

Hello to all.It has stopped the rain, just cloudy now.
Maryz They are going to have you surrounded. That is a lot of new homes in a small area. That is the way they make their big bucks.

Tina I too can share pine seedlings with Mary.We don't like them here due to breakage if you get ice.We have only a couple on our 13 acreas.I pull them up.

Chickie Enjoy your mom visit & hope DD & DGD show up.

It has been Laundry morning here.Washer got a work out.You would think we had children with all the clothes.lol Hope to escape to sewing room.
We have ribs leftover.I also cooked fresh turnip greens. And pickled beets.....Becca
