SUPPER CLUB - Rainy Monday, Oct 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Oct 26, 2015 4:14 am

Good morning! No yard work here today! It's going to rain most of the week. OK by me! But DH hates rain. Odd since he grew up in a coastal town where he had twice as much rain as we do here.

CHICKIE - Boomer, the little escape artist! He is such a cutie! We have friends whose sheltie had to be in a cone for 2 months. And after about 6 weeks out, she had to go back into one again! She never seemed to have a problem with it. But she was a city dog with a city sized back yard to go into. Not 300 acres to run and explore!

BECCA - your little Sawyer is a smart cookie! Such a cutie!

Today I have to dodge the raindrops and hit the grocery store. We did Costco yesterday and dropped a bundle! But everything can't be had at Costco. The laundry basket is starting to overflow but I think I can cram it down deeper for another day or two. And I'm making a table 'cozy' (20" square topper. The pattern calls it a cozy.) for a birthday gift. Hope to finish that today and make some owl potholders to go with.

Supper tonite? Chili! I'll be filling the crockpot with beef and beans, onions and chilies, tomatoes and garlic. Hmmmm . .. . Can't wait to smell all that Yum! and hot cornbread.

What's going to be smelling up your kitchen tonite?

Chickie Your little doggies found doggie Heaven at your House.Sure they bring a lot of love to you.Your Mom is amazing & so blessed to be close to you & DB.Glad she can still sew.

DD is bringing her Dad BBQ pork his fav.I made the slaw that goes with it.And a big pot of Beef veggie soup. Then this morning I made an apple & blackberry pie.No going hungry here.lol Happy eating everyone....Becca

I am going to call the vet today. I think I may be able to remove his bandages on his legs today (back dew claws). Yikes! 2 months!!! That would be difficult here, for sure!!! Ha, only 200 acres… not 300… well, then there is the whole Corps of Engineers next door… just down the hill…

We can use rain… just sayin’…

Chili sounds good! I think we will have the rest/some more bean soup. It’s been on reserve for a few days.

Becca—have fun with DD! It’s amazing what children who have early education can absorb! I feel so sorry for little ones who don’t have good daycare or pre-school, or even head start. You will be feasting at your house! YUM!!!

I have some cake and apple crisp here for afters. I left half at DS1’s last night and brought some home for DH.

Good late morning from a very sunny but chilly, SW. Pa...So far it's not out of the high 40s and boy we know, for me that's not chilly, that's down right cold!

Mary, sorry about the rain but, maybe you need a break from all that yard work...Not sure if grocery shopping is a way of taking it easy...I do wish we had a Costco near by but then again, I'd buy too much so maybe it's best we don't but I do like their potty paper...
Terry, went back to N.C. yesterday afternoon..Always hate to see him go but he does have a better outlook on things...He's decided,he won't sell the house until after Nick graduates and stars college.....Eventually, he'd like to work back in this area, which will be great....It takes about 7 1/2 - 8 hours for him to get home......

Chickie, sounds like all is going well at your "animal hospital"...I also agree, you are so lucky to still have your Mom and to have her as active as she is, that's a double blessing....

Becca, I've noticed how much smarter these little ones are today...Some of the things they do and say are unbelievable....

As for our dinner, I'm going to Becca's...She's having beef veggie soup and pie! Jim will have to be content with a hot meat loaf sandwich with gravy......Store bought cookies and ice cream for afters.....

Happy eating.....................

Becca - Your dinner sounds really good. Beef Vegetable Soup is wonderful!

Farm Chick -Cake and Apple Crisp - I love dessert, although I decided I am eating too many lately!

Irish - I had a meatloaf sandwich for lunch!

Maryz - You can send the rain! My allergies would appreciate a rest. Chili sounds way to hot on this warm day.

Tonight's dinner will be chicken with mustard sauce, mashed potatoes and broccoli. We have pumpkin spice bars, peanut butter cookies and butter pecan ice cream if we want dessert. Think I will have a pear!
