Post by AbitaQuilterMom » Fri Oct 23, 2015 3:03 am

Hi y'all, I hope everyone has a great day today. Prayers going out to all in need. Have ya been watching NCIS: New Orleans? We enjoy watching them eat and drink local stuff. Speaking of food - we will have fried f*** and all the sides tonight. DS2 is taking his first date to Homecoming Dance. They grow up too fast! Yesterday he was playing in a sandbox;-D Hugs, Abita

Good Morning!

Somehow, I'm late today! Sorry 'bout that!

ABITA - they do grow up FAST. My youngest will be 39 soon. I don't want to think about my oldest!

BECCA - I love picturing your flowers! I dont' have a blossom in my yard right now. After the spring bulbs, the rhodies, and the iris, it's all over for us! We have more of a woodsy look here - big rocks, old logs, glorious ferns, Oregon grape, and blue and red huckleberries. Not to mention our big trees. So I don't miss the flowers. Flowers are a lot more work.

So what's with all this banned food! Let's review the definition of the word "banned": not allowed, not tolerted, not to be mentioned. I suppose CHICKIE will get in on this revolution, too. Sigh.

IRISH - my sister used to live next door to Joe Montana's sister and they were friends (I think it was Joe, at least.) Jim will be happily surprised with his doughnuts - but not as happy as when those apple pies start appearing!

TINA - you're excused from cooking! lol! I forgot to thaw my burger last night, too. So I set it on a lunch plate which I placed over a bowl of hot water. Then I covered it with a lid. It was thawed in an hour. We buy our pet food at pet stores. It's so hard to find grain-free in grocery stores. Snickers was allergic to corn and that's the main ingredient in most foods. We give Scottie the same food as Snickers - Natural Balance, Limited Ingredients.

JANA - sorry about your 'Niners. Did you get the texts I sent you? I was ready to share a FQ of my very best SEAHAWK fabric! lol!

Tonite's supper will be split pea soup and Texas toast. I always like to add some diced potatoes and carrots along with onion and garlic. And in the place of ham, I'll put in diced smoked turkey keilbasa. I think I'll put it into the crockpot so it can simmer all day and I can smell it - twice enjoyed!

Good afternoon!

Albita - good to see you today - love fried anything!

Becca - Mary is going to ban me too - coleslaw - yummy!

Mary - my phone is not charged is is out in the other room - didn't get any of the texts - I knew that it would be a slaughter last night - my very best FQ is on the way - its Christmas, not Niners fabric!

Yes, we are doing banned here too - well, its Friday and my Dad always had banned on Fridays -so it will be banned noodle cassarole - leftovers to feed Ethan tomorrow. Then again, it is Food Truck night at the farm, so maybe we will go there - especially if the noodle truck is there - I will call Sarah later and find out who shows up. Like that idea - no cooking and cleaning up all the dishes!

Enjoy!
Jana

Abita--good to see you! I always watch NCIS-NOLA... love the food! Our youngest grandkids is a teenager next month! What happened there???

I am late to the table, but it has been a busy day. I took Boomer and Tinker Bell to the vet first thing this morning and returned to check the sew in and fix brunch for DH and me. I put a pot of 15 bean soup, plus some more beans, and turkey sausage/kielbasa in the oven for dinner. Great minds---Mary! For once I am on your side... only because they didn't get caught. I had a short few minutes in my sewing room before Odie and I went to see Ava. I honestly think she wondered where the rest of her adoring fans were today.

Came home and found some fabric for a couple more Christmas projects, then Odie and I went to see Mom for a bit. I vacuumed her downstairs rooms and had a short visit. I was a little concerned as she seemed tired and wanted to go back to bed. I checked with her again this eve, and she felt better. Also talked to my sister.

The vet's office called, and Tinker Bell and Boomer both came through their surgeries. Boomer was a very naughty little guy as he chewed and destroyed everything around him. He has been a model "child" here--must have been doctor anxiety. I go pick both of them up tomorrow morning.

It sure is quiet here with only one doggy!

The bean soup and cornbread were delicious! I will take Mom some of both tomorrow.

Becca--I have a few zinnias in brilliant orange and golds.

Jana--oops to the Niners!

ALBITA: You must be new--I am ole--ha. Welcome! I do not get on QIAD as often as I could--I am retired --HA

Great to see you all here this Saturday AM.

Has winter arrived yet in your neck of the woods? Vale, Co. had snow this week, and we in Denver metro area have had some cooler days and nights, but so far, we have had a delightful Fall. Unusual for us. Frost warning issued for northeast part of Denver, overnight Can't complain for having an extended summer.
Have a lovely weekend.
Helen
