Good Morning!
Going to be a nice day today - 70* and a bit cloudy. But the rain we had yesterday is gone! And it was no biggie as we were inside watching the Seahawks lose. I think there was more moisture in and than out! I suppose there will be some discussions in the locker room this morning as the team 'rehashes' some of the low moments of the game. And there were plenty to rehash! lol!
TINA - how was the Klobase yesterday? It sounded like much fun! My great-grandmother was from Bohemia. She emigrated at age 12 and lived in NYC after that. I wonder if she enjoyed your Klobase sausages!
BECCA - how can your hubby not love leftover pizza?! I like it cold for breakfast the next morning. We always get 2 meals out of a pizza.
IRISH - glad you had no sports tears in your house. Not so here! Maybe you should draw some big caterpillar eyebrows on your bandage. you may as well have some fun with it!
JANA - I wish the 'Hawks had played your 'Niners! And don't be so sure your team would lose! Things aren't going so well in Seattle!
CHICKIE - your haircut is darling! And if you watch much TV, you will see that your bob is the up and coming new popular 'do'!
Today, our friends want to go to a winery that is about 22 miles south of here, and also to a honey place. We'll take our truck because we want to take Scottie. He is much better, but we hate to leave him alone in the trailer for several hours when he could still be sick. And most wineries allow well-bahaved dogs, if you ask.
Supper tonite is going to be a chicken casserole. It has crushed tortilla chips in the bottom, then cooked chicken pieces, tomato sauce, peppers, onions, sliced olives, taco seasonings, sour cream, cheese. Those are the main ingredients. Our friends will supply some pasta and I'll make a salad and garlic bread. We go home in the morning and I suspect that we will have enough leftovers for Bill and I to reheat tomorrow night, too.
Bon appetit`!

Good morning,
Mary - our teams play this Thursday. Surprised me yesterday and won.
It is our son, Matt's BD today. Dinner is at his home and I don't have to cook! He is 37 - how did that happen, I am only 24! I stopped my BD's at that age as Sarah was born on my BD, so she took over. Hence, I am 24.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good Morning,
Mary -Have fun with your wine tasting. Are you getting some honey too? A honey farm sounds like a fun place to visit. Your casserole sounds good! Enjoy!
Jana - Enjoy the birthday celebration today! Is today the day for Michael's Bone Density test?
A few of you have said you have trouble cooking for two. I was single until my mid 40s so I had to learn to cook for one. Luckily my DH likes leftovers, but the freezer is kept busy with things I make for more than one meal. There is meat sauce and a few small meatloaves in there right now. (There are also some frozen chicken and forbidden food) I think I adjusted to buying as well as cooking. I bought some ground turkey yesterday so I can cook it and have some ground turkey in the freezer. Tonight's dinner is one I created when I was single and will be Fast Hash, green beans and a salad. (Fast Hash - Ground Turkey and Ore-Ida O'Brian Potatoes.) Couldn't be easier!!

Good morning—well on the West Coast anyway! I got lost looking at International Sunbonnet Sues, last of my laundry, and fixing brunch and drinking coffee with DH. We are sunny today but windy. Too windy to put out my laundry—it would be wrapped around the lines with wrinkles I’d never be able to iron out. I washed my fabric for Sue in that load. We are under high winds, low humidity and high fire warnings today.
Q7-Carol—I like the fast hash recipe! Wonder if I could get DH to eat it…
Jana—always nice not to have to be the one cooking! Enjoy!!! I like how you think about b-days, too!
MaryZ—despite your comments about my hair cut, the scissors came out again. You could plant corn in my brow furrows, so I did bangtox—when you can’t afford Botox, you cut bangs and cover the problem… I like it better now. I do like the bob. I like cold pizza for breakfast, too!!! DH… no!
Irish—I can see you with caterpillar eyebrows on your bandage! Rock it!!!
Dinner tonight… I have a world of leftovers… we did have pizza last night, so DH could have his pepperoni pizza (I ate my veggie one made on a low carb tortilla, but I could make another one tonight). We also have steak for DH or fajitas for both of us… I also have some 3-cheese tortellini Alfredo… It’s too early to decide now.

Hello everyone.Sunny but crisp here.
Mary z I was happy my Panthers won.Sorry you & DGS lost.DH even enjoyed it as I was watching & he started watching too.DH never has any of his pizza leftover.I eat less than half of what he does in pizza.
Carol 7 I have always said if I lived alone It would be horrible what I would eat because I would never want to cook for 1. Guess you would learn.
Chickie I googled the almond joy cookie recipe. When you read the ingredients you can just feel the hips growing.lol You are brave to cut your own hair.I did when I was younger.
Irish hope your team won.
I have my pizza & salad.DH wants BLT.So it is simple here....Becca

Good afternoon from sunny but cold, SW. Pa...We had a dandy frost over night so the leaves will really be coming down.....This morning, I woke up and Jim was still in bed, very unusual for him to sleep past 6:30...He said, it just felt good to stay in bed so I did, until almost 9:30.....My heavens, half the day was gone!
And now I have to play catch up....1st thing, I had to call and get a dentist appointment (chipped a tooth eating that last piece of candy last night) and then I had to call the doctor and get pre-medicated.....So am I sorry sight or what, what can happen next????
I do need to be working on the costume but talked the kids into waiting a couple days to come for that fitting...
Mary, loved hearing from you this morning...Sounds like you all are having a blast....You know, wine is good for you(healthy wise) so just look how healthy you're going to be...And I do appreciate all the sips you've had for me......
We did have a good sports weekend and I did end up watching the last quarter of the Steelers....The 3rd string QB came in and preformed like a pro...It was his 1st game and he was wonderful....Sure hoping he continues and we've seen the last of Vick....Thursday night's game should be good, don't you think?
Chickie, I too really liked your new do...Last week when I had mine cut, I told her to have fun, don't be afraid to snip and she did and it's the best cut ever.....
Carol, I have found, I also have bits and pieces of things in my freezer, sometimes it's a mystery but most I remember....I still love cooking for company....Your hash does sound yummy, might have to give it a try....
And in my freezer searching, found some beef cubes so I have a pot of beef vegetable soup cooking....And as I was cutting up some cabbage to throw in the soup, I also thought, I'd fry the rest of the cabbage and then mix it with noodles....Well, guess who is out of noodles but I have the fried cabbage done.....Also got out some ground beef and might make stuffed peppers....So, our dinner might be stuffed peppers and maybe a baked potato or could be veggie soup and home made bread (if I get it baked)...And for afters, I'm making bread pudding with lots of raisins..............See what happens when I find my way to the kitchen?????
Happy eating....................

Irish, sorry about your tooth. Wow you've been busy in your kitchen :-)Mary, I say have some sips for me too

I keep forgetting to have mine.
Chickie, I must've missed out on those cookies, which is probably a good thing LOL
Becca, sounds like easy fixins at your house

I laid out a steak, don't remember the kind I just buy the cheapest I can find and then we split it

we'll also split a baked sweet potato and that'll be our supper
Just to let you know, just in case you might be interested, International Sunbonnet Sue is posted in the swaps section, they are soooo cute! Come on, you know you want a SBS quilt
