SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Oct 12th
Posted: Mon Oct 12, 2015 4:10 am
Good Morning. Well, Seahawk Sunday turned into Mournful Monday. At 24-7, we should have had that game in the bag. But it doesn't pay to get too confident - especially in football!
BECCA - glad you aren't having much damage from your rain. We have maple and alder trees which lose their leaves in the fall. But most of our trees are firs, hemlocks, and cedars which are all evergreen. Though cedars do 'shed' a lot.
I texted Carole and asked if her DD and family who live in SC were OK. This is the DD who has the crazy 'ex'. She said the house is on high ground so she isn't flooded, but all around her is and she couldn't get out of the house for several days.
CHICKIE - fajitas sounded like a good dinner to me! And you were making some of your tasty salsa? Yum!! I might have to casually stop by for a visit . . . .
CAROL - When it's so hot, I use my crockpot or toaster oven out on the deck to do the cooking. But that's not usually a big problem here!
IRISH - I hope you found something tasty amongst those cans to feed your hungry man! We are trying to eat up our biggest food from the freezer. Our ice-maker stopped working. Bill says he can see it's clogged with ice up inside but he can't get to it. So we want to turn off the fridge for a night, let it melt, and then hopefully things will fix themselves. We have a garage fridge we can move things to during 'the operation', but it won't hold everything so we have to put it all somewhere. He settled on my hips . . .
As for our supper - we have some leftover soup, though that may be lunch today. I think I'll take out the pork roast. We have homemade applesauce in the fridge, and some salad and a veggie yet to be named should finish us off. and the last of the ice cream. This will make a big dent in the freezer contents! And I also have a loaf of bread to take out to thaw. By golly, I think we'll be able to fit it all into the other freezer now! The fridge contents won't be a problem - they will fit fine. Now we have our entertainment planned for the day as well as our supper!
Halloween is coming - time to dust off that cauldron and conjure up something eye(ball)-catching!
