SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Oct 10th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Oct 10, 2015 3:09 am

Welcome to the Weekend! Any big plans percolating at your house? Our weather is a bit on the "sprinkly" side so yard work is out. (come on, Rain!!) I will probably give this house a good cleaning today. It's been a while since it's seen the business end of a duster. Sunday is breakfast with my brother, Seahawks, and then maybe plant some tulips. I might tackle a block from a sewing challenge my SS sent me - a pattern with paper piecing AND curved sewing! I'm not sure if she loves me or hates me! lol!!

CHICKIE - sorry the frogs got into your sewing room! Could you draw a meander pattern with a frixion pen and then follow it? Or is it pushing all that fabric through the machine that's the problem? I quilt small things like place mats and table runners on my Bernie, but I iron the sandwich first and that helps it glide through. Also, you might try rubbing your machine bed with wax paper. Hey! It helped my DGS's shoot down the slide in the playground. Don't know why it wouldn't work on fabric. . .

JANA - that's right - one possible future GGC is adoption. I knew that. But just let it slip my mind for a bit. Getting easier all the time to do that!

IRISH - another day of carrousing or are you still working on the first day? What a wild woman you are! You make me think of my mom on St. Patrick's Day - she and her aunt would dress up in the wildest, greenest get-ups they could devise, decorate the car in green paper flowers and streamers, and take off for the day, never telling anyone where they went or what they did. But she always came home smiling!

BECCA - your little DGS is a 'corker'! lol! All the best things come from the mouths of babes!

LADY CAROL - the men think they are the ones on vacation, but we women know who is really taking it easy! Enjoy your four days!

CAROL-7 - Glad you were able to join us at the table this morning, Carol! Sure don't have to worry about heating up the kitchen here! We are happy to see highs in the mid-60's. Rain and wind predicted for today, I think.

TINA - I know you're busy either sleeping or snuggling!! How is little Preston doing?

Dinner here will be chicken, leftover creamed potatoes/peas, and salad. Easy Peasy. I might make chicken fingers and bake them in the oven, just to be different. Too wet and windy out there to grill if our morning weather is a harbinger of our suppertime weather.

How are things looking at your house for supper?

Good morning from a chilly but very sunny, SW. Pa....We have no rain in the forecast for quite a few days so you'd think I could get the outside stuff done, right????

Well, I think my "running" is over for a couple of days, well, maybe a day, (unless the phone rings...Guess you could say, I'm easy).....But, we sure have had fun...When my sister calls and tells me her DH is off to camp, we know there is fun ahead....She did tel me yesterday as she dropped me off, there are a few more road trips planned...
We were all laughing, when DS dropped off Cindy at my sister's he offered my sister money to keep Cindy until Tuesday.......MEN!

Today is really getting into the uglies...The washer is humming and the dust bunnies will be dancing in a few minutes...The kids in N.C. have started their robotic season and today is the 1st competition...I've been trying to get the site but can't which might be a good thing, I'd never get to those dust bunnies....

Mary, I keep thinking of planting tulips and know how pretty it will be in the spring but then I get lazy...When I get that new house, it's going to come with a gorgeous yard, lots of already planted tulips, lol.....

Tina and Jana, babies, babies and more babies....Life is really good!

Lady Carol, it is good to be you, for a couple of days...Take advantage of that male free house.....

Becca, yep, my ventures have been lots of fun and tiring...I get home and feel like I've worked a full day, but a good feeling, lol....

Our dinner will be simple...We still have some sauce and meatballs and 1/2 of a Philly steak and cheese sub from yesterday, so microwave will do the cooking today...I doubt if there will be any baking going on so Jim will have to be content with graham crackers and ice cream.....

Just had a text from Kathy's oldest DD, Jackie, and she is coming for the weekend...So, that means another big group at breakfast in the morning...Another fun day to look forward to.....

Happy eating.....................

Tonight will be leftovers. The house did not cool down overnight so it is a very good thing!! I cleaned house the past two days, but, of course, that means my sewing room needs cleaning. I have several projects in the works, and my sewing room is the only air conditioned room in the house. Guess where I plan on staying today?

Maryz - Too warm here, but we may get rain by next weekend.

Jana - You have several new babies coming, Congratulations. Didn't you also say Sarah was thinking of another adoption? Ethan certainly should have a sister!

Becca - Sorry about the cancelled Fall Festival. Wish some of the rain that has been falling in the Southeast could be falling in the Southwest!!

Irish - You do seem to have lots of adventures!
Carol
