Good early afternoon from a rainy, dreary, chilly, SW. Pa....Not a good day for outside stuff......
Can you believe, here it is a new week AND a new month starting in a few days.....Some how, I honestly think we skipped a month or 2 along the way.....

I had a text from our "Queen" Mary and they are on their way home...Just couldn't talk her (or Bill) into turning east instead of west....But, she did say, she almost picked up another cat along the way, a stray....You know Mary and her pets....

Today, so far as been a lazy, lazy day....Did manage to get to the desk and write some letters and take care of the check book...This afternoon I have a doctor's appointment...How come, the day of the appointment is when you usually feel good and think how dumb to even go...But, I do want to talk to him about Jim and probably get a flu shot......

Not sure what's on the menu....I do have a sort of "meal in a bag" kind of thing...It's Chinese and has those little "mac n cheese" things along with fried rice and veggies....That's a possibility or maybe sliders and the real mac n cheese....

The latest report on my eagle nest in Florida is: Ozzie is back in the rehab hospital...He was found tangled in some wires yesterday afternoon....Last week, the poor thing had lost a talon in his "spat" with the younger male and it also might have been infected...This poor thing has been through so much but he's receiving the best of care through CROW, the rehab hospital....

And on that note, I need to jump in the shower and get on my way.....

What's finding it's way to your table this fine Monday evening???

Happy eating...............

Hi Irish, too bad Mary and Bill didn't turn to go your way, maybe next time :-) that's sad about Ozzie, he sure has been having a rough time. Best of luck at the Dr. I'm going to call this week hopefully and find us a new one, ours retired.....I really dread finding new Drs. Oh well.....
I have hamburger thawing, I'm thinking sloppy Joes and I'll fix Frankie fried potatoes and I'll have salad :-)

Hello everyone,A dreary rainy off & on day here. Not one to be outside.

My day has been consumed with Drs & lab work at Hospital & the ultra sound didn't get done because of a mix up so I have to go back.Ugh!

Tina we went thru new Drs & it is a double pain. Hope you find a good one.
Irish Too bad about Ozzie.Hope he mends well.

It will be light here as I can have very little & no fats which I don't eat anyway.Maybe grilled cheese for DH & soup for both.He has cheesecake.....Becca

Good afternoon!

I thought it was still morning! LOL

Irish - I too have been working at my desk posting my stuff to the computer checkbook - DH gets feisty when it is the end of the month and he has to plan for the new month and I haven't got it done. Well it is done! I still have money left and there is month left too - humm.... LQS run?

Tina - I hated trying to find new Drs here - we haven't had real good luck - found one that is OK for DH and his diabetes, but we are thinking of looking further. Not long until Preston makes his appearance.

Becca - uggh - I hate mixups! Hope that it gets straightened out quickly.

I have two pork steaks and some chicken breasts that I have wanted to cook all week end - but I only have for two, and the kids all show up - so tonight will the the smothered pork chops, taters, and fresh asparagus. Chicken will be tomorrow!

They family was out to watch the eclipse last night. Ethan loved it! Emma watched at her house and sat very quietly on her mom's lap - not the usual for that little girl!

Well time to get a block appliqued for my snowman quilt - only 2 more big blocks to go and then a bunch of small mitten blocks and the piano key border and I can then assemble.

Enjoy!
Jana

Good afternoon! It’s still WARM here—80s and not a breeze to be felt. The dogs and I walked down to Ava’s, my great granddog, to let her out to potty and exercise. Now we are back, and I’ve watered all the plants that need it. We’re so dry again.

The moon was beautiful last night. I kept running in and out as I checked on it and the TV shows DH was watching.

Jana—you mentioned my 52# bag of dog food… it does last several weeks. I just get the biggest one I can lift so I don’t have emergency trips for doggy vittles.

Great news about Cindy’s surgery going well!

Irish—sorry Mary and Bill didn’t have a faulty GPS. Hope you have a good doctor’s appointment. I can always go for Chinese… Poor Ozzie… We have a raptor rehab not too far from here that does good work. One of our friends worked there for awhile.

Tina—I hope we can keep our doctor. I was reading in Parade magazine that the advantage plans (we’re on one) are getting real picky. I’ve already seen it with one of my meds. I may just go with Blue Cross-Blue Shield. I’ll definitely be shopping around in a month or so.

Becca—I try to eat low fat, and my cholesterol is still higher than DH’s who never misses a fat. What gives there? I could use your rain!

Dinner here will probably be steak for DH. I might do soup. I am going to make some fresh salsa, so maybe I’ll have gazpacho or something resembling it. I need to go pick more tomatoes. Finally they are coming on well.

Enjoy!
