SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Aug 28th

Good Rainy morning!

Glad I got the big terraced flowerbed finished yesterday 'cuz the rains have moved in. I wanted to do another, easy, smaller bed but I was too whipped to weed any longer.

As DH and I were just finishing up our outside chores for the day we got a text from my 18 yr old DGS, Alec, asking if we had any work he could do for us. (I know it's not for "US" but for "$$", but he was sweet enough not to word it that way.) Anyway, he will be here next week and we've got our list going!

I never had to cook last night after all. DH had a plateful of salmon fettuccini left over from the restaurant the night before, so I made myself a scrambled egg sandwich. So tonite will finally be cooking for me - The chicken and creamed potatoes maybe. Or grilled burgers and salad. Or tacos. when DH comes home from his gym, I'll let him choose. Makes him feel important.

Good early afternoon from sunny, getting warm, SW. Pa....I knew Mother Nature wouldn't disappoint me, summer is returning...

Mary, maybe some of that rain will help with the fires out that way....But, if nothing else, it gives you a rest from the weeding...Isn't it funny, grand kids must all be the same...Nick would never, ever mention $$$ and would be surprised when we handed it to him but know he was so appreciative..DS, Terry, said, he's going to try to get up from N.C. more often and maybe can help out a little...I think after he talked to and saw his Dad, he feels maybe he should check in more often.....I'll just be glad to have his company, he doesn't have to do anything.....

Today is kind of a happy day..They've finally opened up the road and now we don't have all the traffic coming past the house..I thought it was really quiet this morning and then we realized, no cars...We can actually get out of the garage without a flag man.....But, next week, they will be paving and will be closing the road for a couple of days but that's OK, we'll be gone....

I did make the mistake of sorting through the bills that decided to come our way and in doing that, started cleaning out the desk drawer which was a big mistake...Then decided I'd better get dressed, went upstairs and ended up cutting out 3 more cats for the swap...See how my mind wanders off...But, now back at the desk, cup of tea and maybe just maybe I'll get things sorted....But, I do need to get outside and trim some of the summer plants...

As for dinner, left over Chicken ala king and apple pie (if Jim doesn't get into it this afternoon)...Also picked more zucchini and might bread some...Have quite a few packages of shredded in the freezer so this winter, it's going to taste pretty darn good....

Oh well, back to my mess.......

Good afternoon,

Well last night's tacos morphed into dinner out! I'm good with that! So I will do the tacos tonight.

Beautiful day here - hot, but will cool and be wonderful tonight. It is Food Truck Friday at the farm, so Sarah will be glad for the good weather. Between 3 - 7 different trucks come and so do the people. Sarah has tons of fresh produce in for all the people too.
