SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 26th
Good morning!
IRISH - is there an official wedding date yet for Cari's Big Day? And then your DGS got engaged, too, didn't he? Any news there on dates?
LADY CAROL - I've done enough 'caravanning' in the past few months for both of us! Hope you are able to get to your beer fest. Our friends who went to Alaska with us want to go to Eastern WA to go wine-tasting later this fall. We might do that for about 3 days.
CAROL7 - so good to see you here! your packet supper sounds tasty! I was thinking about you yesterday! We still use your pork brine recipe - and even on this past trip, we did it. But as I was going through all my spices, I finally got smart! I made up a mix of the salt/spices and put them into an empty spice jar (with a label!) and put that into our trailer instead. One jar instead of 5 plus a salt container!
JANA - I hear there are congratulations at your house in that you are now Binky-free! It's a rough transition - for everybody! lol!
TINA - what I MEANT to say yesterday that it would be fun to get Ethan and Easton together, but my clumsy fingers and the similiar names got all confused. So what did Frankie end up "making" for supper last night?
CHICKIE - you mean it's STILL Doyal's birthday you're working on? Then I guess we still have time to get there! lol!
Today I will wrap up the trailer work, finish putting away the last few piles of things scattered around the house, get a couple of packages ready to mail, and I might get an hour in on the yard if it's not too hot by afternoon. If it is, I'll be forced to go play in my sewing room. Gosh darn it!
Dinner with Warren last night was good. they changed their menu so Bill had something smelly with chips. I had sweet and sour chicken/rice. Tonite we are going to a Mediterranean restaurant with two other couples that we haven't seen in several months. We try to get together about 3 times a year for supper. Then it will be back to cooking for me.
How's it looking in your kitchen for tonite's repast?

Mary—yep, you still have time to get here!!! The Colorado bro is on his way today. I’m thinking now around 28 rather than the 35… some of the nephews and a niece aren’t making it or Anna Mae’s sister and DH. It will be fun! I love all your dinners out!!!
Tonight will be DH’s birthday dinner, so probably steak, sweet potato, broccoli and salad. I’m not sure if I’ll make a cake or not. I think he’s already sugared up as he took donuts to “the office” (coffee) today.

Mary, Frankie brought home Si Senor
Chickie, your supper always sounds so good
I think tonight will be grilled chicken and salad, not sure if anything else will make the table or not.

Good "lunch time" from slightly overcast, slightly chilly (I'm wearing socks AND shoes), SW. Pa.....If we start to have those white things falling from the sky, I'm going south.....
OH wait, I'm heading west next week and I've been promised blue skies and warm temps....
Our trip to Reno will indeed be a challenge....Finally told Jim about it this morning and 1st it was no, I can't go and then after telling him how much Kathy wants him to see where she lives, he said he'd go...Now, that was today, tomorrow might be a different story, lol.....
Oh Mary, I am so glad you're back, if not back to normal yet, but back...You would not believe how many times your name pops up around here and everyone knows exactly who I'm talking about...AND, it's all good things, well most of the time, lol.....
And, Cari's date is Oct. 1st, 2016 and DGS (also a Kevin) has decided on Oct. 22nd) 2016....So, I now have a little over a year to loose 20 pounds.....(Like that's gonna happen).....
Chickie, I really do think you have more birthday dinners than any one...Well, you and Jana run a close race....Love to hear about your celebrating.....
Lady Carol, you're another one, I'm so happy to see back at the table...You have really been missed...I do look forward to seeing and hearing about your adventures......
Finally, today is a stay at home day...Those lunches just wear me out too much, lol...And poor Jim suffers...Last night, he said he wasn't hungry so it was soup and sandwich so tonight for sure, we're going to try out the grill and see if I hooked up the tank right....If you all hear a loud explosion coming from the east, you'll know I did something wrong.....
Not sure what might be on the grill, could be burgers, could be chicken but will make a big salad to go with whatever....And, I think we're back to the store bought cookies for afters but today would be a great day to bake....Might have to think on that one......
Gotta go, just heard the washer calling my name......
Happy eating................

Good morning!
It is overcast. cloudy and looks like rain sometime today. That will be nice as we haven't had any rain for awhile.
I have been sewing on the last borders - figured out how to slightly disguise my shortage problem - applique flowers over where the meet up - so I did it in the opposite corners - that way it will look like I planned it that way! LOL This is for me, so it will be fine - it will hang on the large staircase wall we have - it is about 12 feet wide and 19 feet tall!
Dinner was good last night and if Michael stays out of it - I have dinner tonight all done. That is a good thing as my activity day girls are today. We finished their quilts - which is also a good thing as I get three new girls this week. We are planning the Daddy Daughter dinner for next month. They will do the cooking - simple - we will bake Stoffers Lasagna's and make a salad. My good french bread will grace the table as well. All things that a 11 girl can handle cooking. This will be the first in teaching them to cook for a large group. We will have about 30 for dinner that night. The activity day was changed from Tuesdays to Wednesdays.
Enjoy!
Jana

Maryz - Glad you are still enjoying brining the pork roast! They really are good. Also glad you thought of a space and time saver! Preparation really does save time.
FarmChick - Enjoy having your DH's birthday dinner!
Irish - Enjoy your grilling!
Jana - Your Wednesdays always are so busy, good thing for leftovers tonight!
Tina - Your dinner sounds a lot like mine!
Last night with the chicken packets I made potato salad, so there are leftovers of both tonight. It is very humid here today, luckily it is only about 80*. I love 80* but not the humidity.
