SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Aug 25th
Good Morning!
It's dark!! When we left, it was still light in the early morning, and after being so far north, it was light even through the night. Suddenly, we have dark! I guess the fall equinox is only about 3-1/2 weeks away, isn't it . . .
CHICKIE - who's birthday are you celebrating? I love your family celebrations!
JANA - I'm sure Ethan's a huge help outside thinning the forest! I bet if you and TINA got him and Ethan together they could find all kinds of ways to 'help' y'all! I'd love to sit back and watch them!
TINA - It seems the trailer chores are the same whether we are gone 3 days, 3 weeks, or 3 months. Just a few more loads back and forth is the only difference.
IRISH - Did you have a nice birthday? Sorry to miss it. Is there any cake left? . . . .
BECCA - so sorry to hear of your family's loss of your SIL.
Well, yesterday my brother, Jim, wanted to go for pizza, so at 2:30 pm we were at the greasiest joint in town. And there went my dieting vow. The very first day! But it was so good!
Tonite is dinner with Warren at his assisted living facility. We haven't seen him in almost 2 months. He had a heart attack while we were gone but his DD says he's doing well.
So what's on the menu for everyone else tonite?

Good morning! This is still the big brunch bash for DH’s birthday and DGD’s birthday. I started my prep work early, so it seems to have gone on and on. It will be all over on Sunday afternoon and life (hopefully) can return to normal. I’m expecting somewhere around 35 people—usually there are around 20, so I’m amping up my food prep. DH’s brother from Colorado will be a surprise present! He doesn’t know—hopefully we can pull it off…
Oh, the days are becoming shorter here, too. That’s the downside of the cooler weather. I loved heading “north” to Minnesota in summer when we were going to Mayo Clinic for late DH—the days were so much longer than “down here”. Of course, in winter... dark at 4:30 p.m. instead of 5:30 p.m.
Your greasy pizza sounds perfect! I need to come up with something for dinner tonight… pizza sounds good here. I think that works… except I don’t have any mozzarella… hum…. Fiesta blend cheese??? I’m sure I’ll think of something… you know DH doesn’t go hungry here. I have some sweet potatoes. Maybe I'll scrap the pizza and find something to go with the potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon... my meal would be complete, but DH likes MEAT...
Enjoy!

Last night I didn't have time to cook, I was sorting and doing labels, so I asked Frankie if he would....he went into town and picked up something
I'm still working on stuffing envelopes, I have them scheduled for pick up tomorrow
Tonight is something with hamburger. Hopefully it'll be something quick and easy
Our weather has been wet and a little cooler, I'm soooooo looking forward to cool Fall weather, they say we're going to have a wet Winter, I sure hope so!

Good early afternoon from semi dreary, slightly cooler, SW. Pa...You'd think by today's weather, Autumn is already here but I'm sure we'll be warming up in the next couple of days....
Oh Mary, I am so glad to see you back, safe and sound...You know, it was really hard trying to get some of these gals to eat! We needed you to keep everyone in line.....And, sorry, the cake is long gone and it was good....
Becca, so sorry to hear about DSIL...But, just know, she's no longer suffering and probably has been fitted with those wings already....Will be thinking of you and your family during this sad time.....
And speaking of sad, Kathy left yesterday and very sadly back to work today...It was a whirlwind week and from what I'm hearing, the wedding dress shopping was a huge success....I told them I'd like to see a picture of Cari in a dress but not the dress she picked, I want to be surprised...But, she could wear a feed sack and look gorgeous.....
Not thinking too much ahead for dinner...I'm just about to meet the gals for lunch..(Again, as Jim would say).....But, we did have to get a new gas tank for the grill and maybe we'll give it a try tonight....And when I made Dan his birthday pumpkin pie, I also made 1 for Jim so he'll have good afters no matter what we have.....
So, off I go....You all have a great day....
Happy eating................

Good Evening All.......from a very wet and windy Hereford.......
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-
LAUNDRY ROOM.....DROP YOUR PANTS HERE........
Well.....when I went "off air" I really didn't expect to be away for nearly 10 months.......a lot of water has flowed under the bridge in that time......
Our weather has been quite kind to us at times.....rather lovely to see the sun......now and again.....however there has been some rather torrential downpours since the week-end......
As I get my feet back under the supper table will try to catch up on all the news......haven't been able to do much lurking.....life has been rather busy.....and stuff keeps getting in the way......we haven't been able to get away with the caravan so far....BUT....hoping to make it to a "Beer Fest" we usually go to in a couple of weeks time and meet up with all our camper friends......
anyway.....hopefully catch up with news over the next few days and so to todays menu.......oh yes....meals are still ongoing......cant give them a miss......
ttodays menu....Shepherds Pie Runner Beans and Carrots......Strawberry Trifle and Cream for afters.....
take care.......Carol.....

Good afternoon,
We are not starving here. I did a quick ground turkey in gravy over mashed potatoes. Leftovers for today's lunch. I pulled out the rack of ribs for dinner tonight - been trying to get to cook them for awhile. I have tons of fresh goodies to go with them.
Enjoy,
Jana

All of you are so good to plan your meals!!!
It is 3:30 in the afternoon and I just returned from purchasing a chicken breast to be made into foil packets with green and red pepper, pineapple, onion and sauce. I am also making potato salad. I am only making about a pound of potatoes. Should be Delicious.
