Supper club, Aug, 17th, Monday......

Post by Irishgram » Mon Aug 17, 2015 9:30 am

Good late afternoon from sunny, steaming, summerly, SW. Pa....Yep, we're back in the summer mode and I for one think it's wonderful...Of course I'm not working outside and can be inside with the AC (that is if we decide to turn it on)....

So, what's is everyone doing today? Can you believe, we're half way through another month? Lots of kids getting ready or have already gone back to school...Hate to see the months flying by so quickly.....

Gotta tell you about my weekend...Cari got here on Sat. and then bright and early yesterday morning, (5:30 AM) she and I left for the airport to get Kathy and DH..We came back to our "favorite place" and had breakfast, took up 3 tables, lol....Then we went to the Zoo...Everyone should go to the Zoo in 90 degree weather...We spent 5 hours entertaining the animals, even got our picture taken with the elephant and then we went to dinner at Dan's favorite place...At this point, the old broad was tired so Dan brought me home while the rest went to Kennywood (our huge amusement park)..They finally got back to the house about 10:30 and we sat and had a few glasses of wine..Boy did I sleep! Today, we had another semi family reunion and met at Applebee's...From there, Kathy, Cari and Tim, DH, were leaving for Cari's and wedding dress shopping and then onto the beach tomorrow....I have most of the week to rest before they get back here next weekend.....As tiring as these last couple of weeks have been, I'm loving every minute of it.....

As for dinner, I have leftovers from Applebees...And instead of baking, I have store bought cookies and ice cream for afters.....
Of course I am waiting for Mr. Schwan to come....Not sure I can handle all this excitement but someone has to do it.......

Hope you all are having a good day.....

Happy eating..................

Good afternoon! It’s HOT here, too. I’m hoping for rain and will help it along by watering when I leave here.

Irish—sounds like you and your family are having a blast! It’s a GOOD tired. I love hearing about your days! So nice not to have to cook for all of them!!! Enjoy!!!

We will be having re-runs from last evening… stuffed sweet peppers with a side of cauliflower… and… wait for it… tomatoes!!! And watermelon!

Enjoy!!!

Good afternoon!

Irish - oh what fun is at your house! This week and last week! I love having all my family around.

It is not too bad here for heat - hovering around 90ish. No humidity, so it is nice.

Kate, my DDIL, finished her last math class and now wants a book burning. It took her several tries to finally pass - she got a B this time. So next week, we are heading up one of the canyons to a day use campground and make foil dinner - some call them hobo dinners and burn her papers and books. DH is trying to talk her into keeping the books, so we shall see.

Dinner tonight - humm - the freezer is well stocked, so I have no idea - something simple

Enjoy,
Jana.

Hello everyone,
Irish You are on a merry go round but know you are loving every minute of your family fun.It is such a joy to experience family gatherings.

Jana Glad you & DH enjoyed your Anniversary.Going on jaunts are so much fun & adventures.

Chickie Sure hope you are eating.Know you look after mom too along with your duties at home.

Our sweet little baby girl entered the world today out in WA.Her name is Adalynn Faith. She was 9 lbs.so not tiny. Her Mother sure had a long labor. So happy it's over & both are fine.

Today was my quilting for charity so DH had it ready when I got home.We had left over roast beef & gravy .Creamed potatoes, sliced tomatos & fresh peaches......Becca

Irish - Sounds like you are very happy to have family around.

Becca - Congratulations! So glad Mom and baby are fine.

Jana - A belated Happy Anniversary! I am with DH. Is book burning sending a good message to children about higher education?

Tonight we will be having grilled marinated chicken. Probably salad, veggies and potato. I plan on grilling on top of range in cast iron grill pan. It is in high 80's here with a lot of humidity!!
