Supper club, Aug, 15th, Sat......

Post by Irishgram » Sat Aug 15, 2015 6:08 am

Good late morning, almost noon, from a very sunny, getting very warm, SW. Pa....True summer weather is back in our parts of the country or at least in my part....This weekend is going to be steaming.....

Today is going to be another busy day...House is getting a good cleaning and doing a tad of laundry...Kathy texted last night and asked if I'd dig out the beach towels, she didn't want to lug her's from Reno...

My day yesterday was great...The new place was located next to a river and we were able to sit outside while we ate...My friends soon to be new house is really going to be nice...She lives in a 1 1/2 story (put it on the market) and the new one is all on 1 floor and she also has a place in Naples, Florida...The new place won't be done until she comes back north in the spring so now she's worried about selling her house quickly and putting her stuff in storage...Kind of glad I don't have those problems, lol.....

It seems the family has a busy day planned for me for tomorrow..Cari and I will be picking up Kathy and Tim at 6:30 AM, then on to breakfast and then on to the Zoo...Dan thinks we should be there when it opens, something about a giraffe encounter...Then onto one of their favorite eating places and hopefully back home...I have a feeling there will be a few extra at breakfast, Kevin, Cindy and my sister want to see Kathy and this might be the only time this trip, lol.....

And as far as dinner, I'm not going to mess up my clean kitchen! I have a feeling we'll be going to 4:00 Mass today and you know how my car has a mind of it's own...There's quite a few places on the way home so we'll see.......

So, how's your day coming along?

Hope your weather is good, the food delish and the company the best.....

Happy eating..........

Not many around the table tonight. Everyone is so busy with summer activities.

I spent the day sewing, and then cutting the squares for the next top to be sewn tomorrow after church. I am having lots of cotton therapy on these hot days. We were in the 90's today and extremely humid!!!
A/C and sewing. That's the best way to spend a hot day.

For our meal tonight, we are doing two turkey burgers on the grill. Might just add potato chips and call it good enough. No appetite when it's this hot outside.

Happy Weekend, to all

Irish--sounds like you are having fun times with friends and family!

Becca--We have to keep those men happy... mine is crazy about desserts, too.

Vel--I agree about the cotton therapy on hot days! I'm looking forward to seeing your next round of church quilts.

I had my more or less usual Saturday morning. My grocery shopping didn't take as long as I thought it would. My friend was out of town. It was too early to go to Mom's (morning nap time), so I called my sister to see what she was doing. I also had a watermelon in the back of my truck for them. They were having coffee on the patio, so I told her to fix me a cup and I'd be there in three minutes. We had a nice visit, then I went to see mom at my regular time. I fetched salads at Braum's--those grilled chicken, romaine, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, almonds with poppyseed dressing--and had lunch with Mom before coming home to unpack and put away my groceries. I take a cooler with those cool packs, and everything stays frozen/cold until I get home. It beats going shopping in the middle of Saturday afternoon!

Tonight, DH will be VERY happy... jumbo shrimp boil, potato of some kind, and lots of tomatoes (for me--only a few for him). It's about time to start cooking...

Enjoy!
