Supper club, Aug. 5th, Wed...

Post by Irishgram » Wed Aug 05, 2015 7:01 am

Good afternoon from sunny, warm, breezy, wonderful, SW. Pa...Yep, another day in Paradise or in a super part of the country.....

Gee Whiz, here it is lunch time and no one is here....I was up early but life is just a tad hectic in this household, lol...But, there was another Mass for Chris (this would have been he and Kathy's 37th wedding anniversary)...We got back home and the fellows started doing all the little jobs that I have mentioned (that list keeps getting longer)...Terry did have some bad news about his car...Will cost a lot more than he expected and the garage will have it until early next week..So, he's in the process of calling his work and hopefully, be able to work from here until he gets back home....Although I love, love having them here longer, just don't like the reason....

We ran all day yesterday so today is a stay at home day, I think...
And as far as dinner, today might be that casserole or could be swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and a veggie.....I asked Terry what his favorite meal was and he said, one he didn't have to prepare....Not sure what we'll have for afters, might have to bake.....

So, that's life in my little part of the neighborhood, what's happening in your's???? Hope you'll be eating something extra good....

Happy eating................

Hello Irish & others.Know it is wonderful having family but do hate about his car. They can be costly.

It is a laid back day here as this sinus mess has me totally wiped out.I did do some laundry but that is it.DH cleaned bathrooms so we can make it fine.
It is hot here with no rain in sight.

Chickie all your melons sound yummy.Brings back memories of my childhood.Dad used to haul in a load of melons.

Will be a burger for DH.Probably soup for me.Everything Taste like wood.
Have a great day to everyone.....Becca

Good afternoon!

Been hibernating in the Batt Cave getting projects done. DH fixed the door bell - had to install a new one, but it now chimes, like Big Ben - Westminster Chimes - all the notes too!

The kids are coming over for dinner tonight - spicy meat pizza, as Ethan calls it - the Italian from Papa Murphys. It is Ethan's favorite and he would eat the whole thing if we let him!

Thunderstorm rolled through yesterday and is building another one right now - just noisy and no rain so far.

Irish - too bad about the car - that happens - once we had a major car repair while we were here visiting - so Michael just flew home for the time that it took and I stayed to visit with my mom. We soon learned that it was better all around to just rent cars for the trip - if they brought, the rental company just brought us a new one.

Becca - hope you are feeling better soon - sinuses are no fun!

Enjoy!

Hello from the steamy plains. I went to walk Ava, and my phone said 72 degrees! Imagine that—I haven’t seen 72 in weeks, even at night! We had rain showers this morning. I went to walk down the road, and when I went out of the house… it was definitely NOT 72 degrees! I looked at my phone again… yep, 72, but with a heat index of 89!!! It felt like all of that!!! No breeze, just steam rolling up from the damp road.

Now I’m working on BC blocks to send to Tina. I just had to get out the seam ripper. Somehow I got to pieces turned around… duh!!!

Irish—too bad about the car. Sounds like Terry is the chief cook and bottle washer at his house. How nice to have a mass to remember Chris’s and Kathy’s anniversary. You mentioned the Swiss steak… I just watched Pioneer Woman, and she made steak fingers and gravy for dipping sauce. I’ll have to make that for DH one of these days. He will think he’s in paradise.

Jana—I like renting vehicles for vacation, too. I always get a kick out of hearing about Ethan—he’s my boy… pickles and pizza!!!

Becca—so sorry about the sinus infections. They never could figure out what to do about mine other than pain meds. Fortunately, after I moved from that town, I got all better. I think that’s why I like spicy food… I can taste it. The year I was so sick blew out all my taste buds and almost all of my sense of smell. Good luck to you!!!

Dinner here… lots of tomatoes (I just ate a bowl for a snack), watermelon and probably red beans and brown rice possibly with some quinoa added and with some jalapeno sausage plus more spicy seasonings. I do like spicy!

Enjoy!

Well, I will add my two cents. It's late, but we have to eat, right??
LOL. I was busy sewing most of the day. Got my Sail boat Row by Row finished except for the border. Will get to that tomorrow, maybe.
So I put all the sewing stuff away and started getting stuff around for our supper ( we call it supper - others call it dinner) ???

Chicken on the grill, Corn on the cob, Potato, cooked in Microwave
Maybe even a salad. I will be adding peaches and a couple of cookies for our dessert.

I am having DH grill extra chicken, then tomorrow it will be salad with left over grilled chicken. That is one of our summertime favorites.
Not many dishes is nice too.

My mouth is watering for all those melons you are enjoying and all those garden fresh tomatoes and other vegi's. Yum!!!

See you all around the table tomorrow.

Hugs
