Fabric in Quilt Kits Safe

Should I be concerned about fabric in quilt kits bleeding and/or shrinking?

I always use color catchers when I wash just to be sure. If the quilt is a gift, I wash first with color catcher and give a couple with the quilt. I generally do not pre-wash fabric. With color catchers, I've not had any problems. They are made by Shout and found in the laundry soap/fabric softeners area.

Shrinkage is generally consistent, so I don't worry about it.
