SUPPER CLUB - Wed, July 23rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Jul 22, 2015 1:59 am

Good Morning for the second day in a row! we're still in Whitehorse, but just might be on the move this afternoon. We took my DB's motorhome to a different garage and they diagnosed a low fuel pump pressure and they think they have the right part to fix it! This town is nice, but we're ready to move on and catch up with our friends at my oldest brother's house.

ABITA - I'm glad you had a nice time with your visiting, but oh, that heat! Not for me!

CHICKIE - glad you are finding some good RBR's. I have a friend who sent me one from HI. I can't wait to see it.

IRISH - Glad Jim scored well at the thrift shop. With thrifting, some days are stone, but some days are DIAMONDS! Is it the library where your friend asked you to volunteer some hours? Libraries are my third favorite places to be next to home and quilt shops.

BECCA - We really like the pre-seasoned chix breasts from Costco. Though there, you get what their buyer decides to buy. No choices. But they are tasty and tender.

VEL - sorry you have to go to a funeral. But they are necessary rituals of life. And you get a pass on the 'mac & cheese' since I'm not home. Everybody gets a pass! Eat up! Get it all gone before I come home!

IF we are on the move today it will be late when we stop so supper will be a package of frozen homemade chili. I would love to have baked potatoes to put that chili over, but potatoes are one of those things they confiscate at international borders so we haven't bought any, expecting to cross the Alaska border any day. So it will have to be toppings on the chili like saute'd onions, shredded cheddar, and sour cream. works for me!

What's for supper at your house?

Hi Mary :o) I'm glad you all took your DB motorhome somewhere else. And I really hope that fixes it! Wow fabric $16 a yard?! Yikes! I haven't been making it on here very regularly lately, I need a clone or hired help, something! LOL
We didn't have our fish the other night, DD called and asked how to make something and then I got off onto something else that I make and so then I wanted it, I don't have a name for it because it was just something I made up years ago but Frankie calls it my Mexican goulash LOL and we had salad with it, totally meat free supper that night. I think we have just a serving left for each of us tonight and fish will join it on the plate :o)

Good afternoon from partly sunny, warm, wonderful, Sw. Pa....Our weather is really, really nice....
The clothes on the line dried very quickly, makes me want to look for more to wash and hang, lol....Our next door neighbors, with 4 kids, just last night got back from vacation and I'll bet they have scads of dirty clothes they'd give me......

Mary, so good to see you back today...It just seems normal to have you here with us...But, I still think something must be in that air for you to lift the ban...And also glad to hear the problem might be taken care...You really do have one adventure after the other, don't you....And yes, it is the Library that "needs" me but I didn't get to talk to the right person when I stopped....Gee, I don't know if I can fit that into my schedule, lol.......

Frick and Frack were at it again...I decided, some limbs of a very big tree needed to come off...I even told Jim I'd go up the ladder with the chain saw but he just shook his head...Not sure if it was the ladder or the chain saw that gave him shivers...But, he said, he'd help by pulling down on the lower limbs and I could use clippers and trim..Darn, really had my mind set on that chain saw...So, he's holding on for dear life and I'm trimming and you know sometimes, those limbs just jump around and sometimes they go flying back up in the air, before you're ready...Yep, a couple of times....Neighbors on the other side were getting a good laugh...But I am determined to do more trimming!

I just picked more beans and have them cooking and also picked more zucchini...You know the cartoon, I believe Pickles, where they go out at night and leave zucchini on neighbor's doorsteps? Well, that might be me one of these days...We've had zucchini chili, stuffed zucchini, breaded zucchini and also zucchini bread......

For tonight's dinner, beans, breaded zucchini and anything else that's hidden and not green in the frig...I've always liked buffets!

Happy eating...............

Good afternoon!

Mary—hope things are getting fixed today! Oh! I think all the Hawaiian RbRs must be great! I can think of a lot of inspiration for sure! I still haven’t had any pond fruit while you’ve been absent…

Tina—I think your “goulash” sounds like fun! Meat free, too—even better! I need several clones—since they would be older than dirt, too, they would move as slowly as I do, so I need more for —cooking, housework, yard work, grocery shopping… just leave me free to sew!

Irish—I think we could write a cartoon strip, but it’s already in “Pickles”… great seniors laughs, and she even quilts! There’s an old saying around here that when you go to church during zucchini season you had better lock your doors and windows or when you come out, you’ll have a bushel of zucchini in the seat! You should make zucchini cookies with lemon frosting. I used to have a zucchini cookbook and lots of other recipes. We’re expecting rain today… maybe… so laundry on the line will be tomorrow.

I decided on dinner last night… pizza… at Pizza Hut.

Tonight… has to be dinner in. I’ll make DH a steak, and I will have grilled tofu and mushrooms. There will be corn on the cob, baked sweet potatoes and sliced tomatoes.

Enjoy!

Hello everyone,Had a great day with DGD,Sawyer & Tallulah..Tallulah just started walking & she is such a joy.Always smiling & happy. We walked to creek & they had a ball playing in the water.

Irish Your adventures sound pretty risky.Especially the chain saw.I would love the zucchini .Did not plant any this year.I am getting beans & tomatos which are great.I have shared with all the neighbors.lol

Chickie I am with you on no meat.DH gets on me all the time to eat more meat.Ugh.

Tina Your goulash sounds good if not too spicy.Of course you can always leave some out.

We had grilled chicken tenders, green beans ,noodles, rolls, apple pie & oatmeal cookies I made.....Becca
