SUPPER CLUB - Fri, May 8th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri May 08, 2015 3:53 am

Good Morning!

Yesterday was a purrfect gardening day so I spent 6 hours out there dealing with winter debris, leaves, rogue limbs, briars, and weeds. Got a lot done and the end is in sight. Of me, or of the yard work still remains to be seen.

GEN. LADY CAROL - thank you for the definition of 'varlets'. I guess a VARLET would be one who hangs out with HARLOTS. lol!

TINA - I guess we need to revisit that restaurant and re-sample the salsa! glad you had such a nice day with Carole. And so sweet of her to spend the day teaching you a new skill. And then she learned a new way to do it from you!

IRISH - sounds like you need to throw a party for all the family. A "wear your old work clothes" party. But I'd keep the planned entertainment a secret until they all get there!! I found if word leaks out about that, the only one who shows up is the dog!

BECCA - I enjoy outside, too, in nice weather. Gardening is NOT my hobby though. I'd rather sit out and read a good book, or set up my sewing machine out on the deck .. . hey, that sounds like a good idea!

CHICKIE - did you get to that soup last night? Hope the storms didn't get you too badly.

Today, another eye dr appt for one last little thing to check in my old glasses, which I didn't have with me on WEd. Then to Costco. Then home to work outside again - or sew outside, maybe, now that that thought has occurred to me. . .

Last nights chops didn't happen because I couldn't find any in the freezer. We ended up grilling polish sausages, making some Rice-a-Roni, reheating some baked beans, and tossing a salad. Tonite will be a one dish meal with leftover sausage, rice, and some frozen peas tossed in. With salad on the side.

Food. It's what's for dinner.

Good morning from sunny, warm, summerlike, Sw. Pa...Another gorgeous day, here in the east.....

Mary, you really are getting into that yard work, aren't you? But, so nice when it's done, if ever, lol....We have such plans around here and then they usually fizzle after an hour or so, maybe less....And you idea about a party is a good one, but then I'd have to feed the bunch and you don't know this bunch...And as far as the dog showing up, that dog would be an English Bull dog and they sure aren't known for doing anything except eating, laying around and expelling bad noises and odors....

I did get off to an early start, getting my blood work done but then back home and have done nothing...Jim is getting antsy about getting tomato plants so we'll probably take a ride to Home Depot or one of the green houses....

AND if that happens, that also means I won't be cooking...I make sure I plan these trips so that on the way home, the car just automatically pulls in a restaurant....My Mom didn't raise no dummy....

So that's my day, not too exciting which is good......

Happy eating................

Good afternoon to all,Another hot one here.I did the watering early and my walk too before the heat got bad.

Sitting on the deck sounds good . I am writing from the porch.Nice cool breeze blowing.I planned to do lots more but I too like Irish fizzle out from the heat.

Today has been entertaining looking out the windows.First saw a bunny eating in front. Then in back we had 4squirrels and a chipmunk in a chase. The chipmunk outrun & outsmarted all the squirrels. And two birds were tending to babies in nest in our side garden.Love watching the wildlife.Told DH I saw more here than on my 3 mile walk.

DH wants spaghetti and salad.Crusty bread......Happy eating Becca

Good morning! Barely! LOL

Well the fifth draft of my talk is the keeper - now for some editing and cleaning up phrases - no they are not dirty phrases! This is for Church! LOL

Dinner - I did the chow mein last night and have a leftover chicken breat - so that will get split, pounded flat and made into chicken parm. Salad will accompany.

Now I get to work on the sunflower petals - almost have them all pressed!

Enjoy!

Good Evening All.....weatherwise a few spits and spots and a little nippy but nothing like the beginning of the week.....thank goodness...

today I am quite happy to say.....nothing much has been going on here.......ok....so I know the wireless and the telly have been full of the election results....which I am so pleased about.....I could see us ending up as basket cases if it had gone the other way......but I do like a boring and uneventful day now and again.....

Taken up the knitting needles again.....between a little sewing....Willow is in need of some more cardies....apparently the shop ones are too thin and not a patch on great nannys...so how that for getting the old needles clacking away yet again.....

and now to todays menu.....sorry Mary....but its our Salmon Wellington again today....Creamed Potatoes....Sweetcorn and Peas....
Lemon Cheesecake for afters......

OK, last night was Mama's...and I'm not sure about tonight...I was going to grill, but no propane.

It's HOT and muggy....UGH. No rain either. I'm so crabby..lol!

We visited with the neighbor this morning..and she pulled the weeds that were huge in the little flower bed in front of the porch...I've been watching them now..waiting for rain so I could get them out. Glad they are gone!

I didn’t do soup last night… went with tortellini in red sauce for me and in Alfredo sauce for DH with some garlic bread on the side.

We had rain and some thunder and lightning but nothing serious. It was pleasant listening to the rain as we fell asleep.

Hope you get your glasses Rx correct! We are hot and humid—no outside sewing here. It would definitely be “quilt ‘til ya wilt”!!! And, it would happen quickly!

Tina—love your cathedral windows! How neat to get to meet Carole and feel you had known her forever.

Hi to everyone at the table… hope you understand… DH is off to the woods, and I want to use this time in my sewing room…

Dinner tonight here will be the pork chop and apples for DH and I’ll make a soup for me.
