Good Morning!

And the cat came back!
The very next day,
The cat came back!
She couldn't stay away!

Remember that old song? Well, Riley is back. I found her locked in our travel trailer. DH said he checked in there, but I guess he did't do it very well! I was out with Scottie in the back yard and as we were coming in I thought I heard a faint little meow. I opened the door and there she was! HUNGRY! She was locked up for 2 days without food or water. Or a litter box, but we won't go there.

TINA - your stepping stones will look so pretty there! And they probably won't blow away!

IRISH - I'll keep my eyes on my mailbox!

JANA - I LOVE Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce! I buy the big bottles at Costco.

JOANNE - I think by now Mama ought to have a permanent sign over your table that says, "Pringles' Perch"!

BECCA - You are so good to your DH. I have trouble getting one meal on the table every (well, most) nights. I don't think I could come up with two! You are such a good wife.

CHICKIE - what a fun afternoon you had with all the 'wimmin' in your family! And how was the new restaurant?

Tonite's supper here will be some kind of dish with a rice base because I have leftover cooked rice. We might hit Fred Meyer's (one of Kroger's chains) today because Scottie has a beauty appointment close to the store. DH 'needs' some more red wine and I need some more food. Time to stock up for our company that arrives on Thursday for 3 nights. They have an RV and she's already told me that she's cooking spaghetti one night while they are here. How great is that! Guests that not only bring food, but cook it, too! This gal is Betsy, our friend who had the double lung transplant 2 yrs ago. She is up here for her medical check up at U of WA. You might remember her . . .

Time to go shower and meet my DB and SIL for breakast!

Good morning!

Mary—so glad to hear Riley is back and didn’t meet an awful fate!!! I don’t remember the song… I remember “the cheese stands alone, the cheese stands alone, hi ho the dairy-o, the cheese stands alone.” For the life of me at this moment, I don’t remember the first part…

Betsy sounds like she is doing super! Isn’t that thrilling to have her cooking and visiting after such an intense surgery! Guests who cook and bring food… delightful!

I will report that the steak house was excellent! They are taking a lot of Big Ed’s business—that’s where we went probably the first time you were here. You know I don’t eat beef much, but Carolyn raved about the beef tips, so I ordered. I was not disappointed—they were sooooo tasty and melted in my mouth! We will be going back!!! YUM!!!

The best thing is I have leftovers for tonight… Do I share with DH or do I feed him ham and revel in my beef tips??? That is the question… I’ll probably share and add some “surf” to stretch the “turf” along with a baked potato and salad.

Happy Eatings!

Well talk about weird things happening...I had typed a nice long post and a screen came up and said, calzone and that was it...No x to get out of it just a block that said sign off...I swear that little person that lives in my computer has a hangover or really has a problem....

But, anyhow, Good afternoon from sunny, warmish, SW. Pa...We are having a gorgeous day here in the east at least my part of the east...I guess if you'd ask Kathy in Maine, she's probably having snow....

Mary, so glad Riley is back home and not lost in the woods or worse...Poor little thing to be locked up so close to home, all by herself....Baby Girl loves to go under our front porch when Jim takes the garbage down and there have been times, Baby Girl is there longer than she likes and boy does she come running when you open the door....But, next time that door is open, right back she goes....
Boy, that is special when company brings food AND cooks it too...Lois really is, what you'd call a survivor, isn't she?

We went to early Mass, then breakfast by ourselves...Our friend, the other Jim, had heart surgery this past week and will be "out of commission" for awhile...He had just turned 89 and although he hadn't been feeling up to par, he kept saying, he had too many things to do before he checked out...So hopefully, his heart is fixed and he still has some good years ahead of him....

As far as our dinner, being the weather is so nice, we might just have to fire up the grill...And I might even make some potato salad....While we were at Aldi this morning, a nice box of donuts jumped into the cart so once again, no baking.......

Happy eating...........

Good late afternoon!

So glad Riley is back home or should I say, never left! My kitties would get stuck in the shed.

Well all the family is gone and quiet regins. We have the party /brunch here after the blessing. All went very nice. Not much food left. You see, for the past couple of weeks I was told the other parents/family were not coming. So I planned the food accordingly - well last night after I had finished the last shopping and was prepping everything, I was informed they would be here. I had plenty - the little voice told me they would come, so I planned the extra food.

The hit was the hot ham and cheese sliders. Such a easy recipe - will do it again! The recipe is:

Kings Hawaiian Rolls, deli sliced ham, swiss cheese. Melt a cube of butter and add a dash of worchestshire sauce with some finely minced sweet onion. Cook together for a couple of minutes and then stir in dijon mustard to your taste. Place the rolls in a foil lined 9 x 13 dish. Split the rolls in half and spoon a teaspoon or so,of the butter mixture on the bottom bun, then add two slices of ham, cut to fit the little roll and a slice of swiss cheese. Top with the rest of the roll. Then pour the rest of the butter mixture over the top and sprinkle with some poppy seeds. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 20 minutes, and serve hot. I made a couple of dozen - they were gone in a instant! For a crunchy top on the roll, uncover and bake for a couple of minutes more.

Well I have a after party kitchen to clean up -
Hugs,
Jana
