SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Apr 06, 2015 2:50 am

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. And that you have another one today! I hope to finish up my Janiac blocks today. Four years of my life (off and on) have been spent on this quilt. Will be happy to see it go onto the quilting frame!

Our dinner was nice at my DB and SIL's yesterday. She finally decided on 4pm. Their son and DIL were there so we were 6. My potatoes turned out pretty tasty, though my SIL didn't care for them and told me my brother didn't either. Sigh . . . (well, he sure ate them down fast enough!)

JANA - that recipe sounds yummy and I'm going to copy it down. I think it would make a terrific dish to take to our RV Rally in June for either our pot-luck supper or pot-luck breakfast. Thanks! Sometimes I use a just a jar of queso sauce, too.

BECCA - I know the feeling when your DD leaves. Mine hasn't been home in four years. But whenever she does visit, I'm sniffly for 2 days after she leaves.

JOANNE - 33 for a family dinner! We don't get that many for a family reunion! What a fun gathering it must have been!

CHICKIE - how was your big brunch? Were you able to sit out on the porch?

TINA - glad you had a great day! Your menu sounded awesome!! I know all your guests had a great time with you! Did the baby bunny get a name yet? when I was little, I had a pet bunny and her name was Mrs. Easter.

We brought honme the leftover potatoes so tonite I'm going to fry sliced smoked turkey kielbasa and onions, make a salad, and call it supper.

What are you calling supper tonite?

Mary, I bet your brother loved em and it ticked her off LOL I forgot to ask if they named the bunny :-) I'll ask Jaz when she wakes up, she slept over :-) we're sewing in a little bit! Woohoo! DS and my younger brother couldn't come for Easter but we had a great day and we ended up with 14 total, 10 adults and 4 kiddos....the best part :-)
I'm being lazy in bed at the moment so I haven't even thought of supper yet :-) I'm thinking it'll be something with ham leftovers though :-)

Good morning from sunny, spring like, Sw. Pa....It's the start of a purrrrfect day....And I can't believe, I'm up, not exactly at em, but was up before 7:00 this morning....It's amazing what happens when the sun shines in the window and won't let you sleep.....

Mary, your dish did sound good and by them not eating too much, just leaves more for you....I make what Jana calls "funeral potatoes" a lot, almost every time I need to take a dish....
And boy do I know what you gals mean about those daughters..Now, Kathy only gets home once a year and that's not good, for me....But, I have her 3 and that helps.....

Our day yesterday was special....We had a bunch here for breakfast/brunch and then we went to Kevin's in the afternoon and ate again..I had to laugh at Cindy, DDIL, she said, she had cut down on her menu..Along with all the usual stuff, she also has a table of dips, shrimp, salads, fruit tray, veggie tray but said, she didn't make the beer dip or the hot buffalo dip....When we got home, I think it was a race to see who would fall asleep first, while watching basketball...

But, today, I need to take advantage of the sun and do something, not sure what but something.....

As far as dinner, I have a feeling it will be ham and macaroni salad...I had made a cinnamon bundt cake and Cindy gave us half of a white cake topped with strawberries (that is to die for)...So, there's no shortage of afters in this house............

Happy eating................

Mary, your SIL sounds a little jealous to me...could be why she never is pleased with what you make!

Tonight is Dinner with the Pringles...and we are supposed to go to Sky Galley at the Lunkin Airport (a fairly small airport). Earl isn't crazy about going there...so we will see! He might convince them to go somewhere else, like Cracker Barrel.

Today is opening day for the Cincinnati Reds..they play the Pirates. It's a big deal here, a big parade and TV coverage from noon on. Then at 9pm the championship game for college...Duke against Wisconsin...Earl picked Wisconsin to win it!

60's but scattered showers today...where's the sun?!!!

Good afternoon,

Tonight's dinner - banned with salsa on top - chef salad for me. The banned is something I do just for Michael. Mix salsa and miracle whip together and put on the banned food - I hate miracle whip!

Our BIL - the one that Michael's ditzy sister divorced will be here for a visit this week. He and Michael were best friends before he married the ditzy sister and they still are. It will be good to see him. He has a business conference in Park City during the week.

Enjoy,
Jana
