SUPPER CLUB - Fri, March 27th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Mar 27, 2015 4:19 am

Good Morning! We are having warm, sunny weaather! HOO-RAY! I walked and also did a few hours of gardening. Felt so good! Today - cooler with rain by evening. Sigh.

LADY CAROL - I love your phrase, "put you off the cooker"! I think I'm going to steal it. It will come in VERY handy in this house! lol! p.s. Were going to give you a star for the week anyway!

CHICKIE - I don't know how you say spoiled at your house, but here, we say "Scottie". lol!

TINA - that's a lot of cat-herding! For a time, when I was little on the farm, we had 14 cats and 5 dogs. I LOVED it! and truth to tell, so did my mom, I think. Remember, if you still have the little black and white one our next trip through, he's mine!

IRISH - it will be fun for us to see what color booties you end up knitting! As for eagles - they said the eagles in Alaska have a 7' wing span. Since I'm only 5' myself, I can hardly wrap my head around a bird that large! Do you know if that is bigger than your eagles?

JANA - I don't think I've ever seen pre-seasoned pork ribs at our Costco. But we'll probably be going this weekend and I'll look for them.

JOANNE - where are you?? Dinner's ready!!

Today, maybe a bit more yard work and a little sewing for me. DH will be gone later this morning getting a pedicure. Our friend, Tex, gets them often. and talked my brother, who has advanced Parkinson's, to go with him. It's great for Jim, who's feet need serious attention. Somehow, my Bill got talked into going, too. He HATES anyone to touch his feet and he REALLY hates being in a salon. It's a male thing. Bill goes so Jim will go. I would LOVE to go, but if I went, then Jim probably wouldn't. It would become a 'girl thing' to him. Life is funny.

Such a nice evening last night. We relaxed on the deck for a while - sans jackets! - and then BBQ'd our chicken and also potatoes in a foil packet. Tonite, leftover chicken sandwiches - maybe chicken salad sandwiches - on a bun with salad and maybe some potato tots. I'm not sure how hungry DH will be. Hope you can find some BBQ's weather at your house!

Good morning from a very, "non BBQ weather type, SW. Pa....It's dreary, hint of that white stuff in the air and just plain cold.....
My "ex" daughter called last night to tell me how much she's enjoying walking on the beach and had gotten a little pink from the sun...Doesn't she know, we're still winter here in the east....Not nice to tease your elderly parents, especially if there is a birthday coming up.....

Mary, I am glad to hear you're able to sit outside and enjoy your dinner...I sometimes wish we had a Costco near by but then when I do go, I buy too much so maybe it's best I only visit once a year...We have a Sam's Club and when I need graham crackers, Kevin's wife takes care of that.....I too, was amazed at the size of eagles...The ones in the north are much larger and as we go south, they do get a little smaller...But, the average size of the nest is the size of an upside down volkswagon or close to a queen size mattress...Right now, when the Ft. Myers eagle spreads his/her wings, it covers the whole nest...So they are massive and sure wouldn't want to have one mad at me....Have you seen pictures of their talons????But, as strong and tough, they are so gentle when taking care of their little ones. It is amazing.........

Carol, I also like your phrase....That's a good one and for sure will be using it....You sound like you're really sewing up a storm....When I'm working on a project, I usually say, it's keeping me off the streets and/or out of the bars....

Not sure what's happening today..I still have an invalid clinging to the recliner...But, that Notre Dame win last night sure helped his spirits....I'm hoping to get him to go to the Post Office even if he has to drive the 20 yards to get there, lol.....He is so funny, said, doc said not to get it wet so he really can't help with the dishes...

And for dinner, that might be grilled cheese and tomato soup, just like when the kids were all at home...And remember that "no baking" remark I made...Well, that lasted until I started looking at my recipes....I made a shoofly cake and it is so darn good...Hopefully we will have some left for our afters......

Happy eating....................

Here I am! Last night was Mama's Grill...yeah!! Tonight I'm fixing stuffed pork chops, sweet potato casserole and brussel sprouts! Yummmmm.

Irish, I agree about those two guys! Now they need to get rid of the remaining one..
Is Jim over the moon for Notre Dame now?? What a great game!

Gotta run...dinner calls.

Good afternoon,

I did chicken and rice pilaf last night, with sliced fresh tomatoes. Tonight will be another run with a chicken something - might make chicken chow mein with crunchy noodles.

Beautiful weather here - just a tad chilly by dinner time, but the kids are itching to bbq out here - we will be in the high 70's tomorrow, so we just may cook and eat outside. Our snow is only on the tops of the highest peaks.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good Evening All......another nice day.....but a very chilly evening......

going to have an early night with my electric blanket and my book.......well I have finished the Tea Cosy and the Coffee Cosy.....they wont pass close scrutiny....but they are ready for use....the Tote Bag....has been sent to the darkest regions of the sewing room until I am ready to punish myself again.....I now have the greatest admiration for the Bag Makers of the quilting community....maybe I should see if I can find a course somewhere because there have been some beauties shown here on the photos page.....

Maryz and Irish.....glad you like my "cooker off" bit......actually I quite like it myself......wonder how many times I can get away with it....

Todays menu....well...there is no menu.......we had a late lunch out today which was a lovely treat......so just Coffee and Carrot cake tonight......tomorrow after we have been out for breakfast.....the new equipement has arrived from BT for my FASTER broad band and we have to install it.......so if I don't appear you will know I have made a cock-up.....I say I......because its only me that does that....

Carol
