SUPPER CLUB - Monday, MARCH 23rd!

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Mar 23, 2015 4:11 am

Here it is again - my birthday. Seems like it rolls around about three times a year! But I guess it's better than it NOT rolling around! DH surprised me this morning with a gold cross and a gift certificate to my favorite LQS - who's semi-annual clearance sale is in 9 weeks . . :o)

CAROL 7 - happy belated birthday to your hubby! It was a popular week to be born back in the early fifties!

CHICKIE - you worked hard yesterday. You deserve a day off! I recommend a day in your sewing room with a Do Not Disturb * Doyal, This Means You sign on the door!

IRISH - congratulations to your Nicky! Just be be able to enter the competition is notable enough, but to place 2nd out of 200 teams is amazing!! I see big things in his future! Glad your BB team won, too!

JOANNE - so did your favorite teams win, too? Hope they weren't playing Notre Dame!

BECCA - how was the restaurant last night? I hope it was all it was cracked up to be!

Yesterday I finished my challenge project from my LQS. It was terrible! The theme was "mac'n'cheese". Because we're a fishing town with a fleet to bless in June and everything! I told them we have a lot of cats in town, too . . . . They said maybe next time. I tried to post photos but my computer wouldn't play nice at all. So maybe today.

My 17 y.o. DGS cooked a birthday supper for me last night - all from scratch. Fettuccini alfredo, polenta, Caesar salad, garlic bread, and for dessert - homemade cannoli's. Wow! He's getting to be quite a good cook! Tonite - DH said he plans to take me to a local restaurant called Tanglewood. It's less than 2 miles away. So one more time - no cooking for me! I think it was Carol who said a few days ago - she likes to cook, but just not often. Me, too!

No, Mary, Notre Dame didn't play any of our favorites...YET! If they play Kentucky, though....lol! And Irish, I did watch them play! We've stayed up really late all 4 nights..and watched alot of the games with our eyes closed.

Tonight is Dinner with the Pringles...at Dick's BBQ...we've never been there, so we'll see!

Good morning from sunny but still cold...One of these days, I'm going to change that "broken" record...Won't you all be surprised when I say it's sunny and warm......

Happy Birthday, Mary........

Wow, Mary, no cooking again today...And, you're right, as long as you keep having those birthdays, all is good....
We are very proud of Nicky as with all the kids that competed...It's really a shame, they get no recognition from their school...Now if that was the football team and anything sports related, it would be all over the news.....But, my buttons are popping just the same....

Joanne, I'm not into basketball but do watch if ND plays...But, you're lucky, next game, I believe it's with Witchita ...Going to be interesting because I think our Penguins will be playing at the same time, and the box on the other TV needs replaced, so there might be a slight battle of who controls the remote...

So far today I have done 1 load of laundry and talked on the phone....Had a call from Jim's "slicer and dicer" and he needs more MOHS done in the morning, which could be an all day thing...He keeps saying, when will this be over???? But, I don't want to think about that.....

As for dinner.......The stuffed shells that I had planned for the other night might finally get made...Salad on the side and ice cream for afters.....

Happy eating..................

Maryz Yes the Dinner was delish. It was DHs idea to try it & sure we will be going back.We do love our Favorite The Boiler Room.

I am a big Basketball fan so I have been keeping up & watching a lot of games.Have been some upsets as usual. My DH told me this morn KT lost .I checked & he was wrong like I thought, even though I know anyone can get beat.

We had planned to get car fixed they broke but tomorrow is when they can get to it.So I did laundry & cooked. Now it is off to walk.I ate lite as we are eating out tomorrow again.Soup for me & jello.DH had hot dog & black eyed peas & jello....Happy eating to all..Becca

I guess I totally missed yesterday, but we ate :-) DD brought food over. Yep Mary, the tub has and still is a tuff job. It went through the wall behind the computer desk, Frankie almost has the bathroom wall reassembled, the faucet should get installed today so hopefully I get to take a bath tonight in it but if not I've been using the front bathtub :-)
I think supper tonight will either be chicken or burgers on the grill if it's not too windy and if I don't have to meet Frankie at the hardware store but if I do then it'll be forbidden food, salad and another veggie :-)

Good Evening All.....Its grey and now trying to rain.....
going to try for a full week of attendance this week......aiming for a Gold Star.......

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-NEVER APPROACH A BULL FROM THE FRONT
A HORSE FROM THE REAR.....OR.......
A FOOL IN ANY DIRECTION

I didn't make it here over the week-end.....kept getting e-mails from BT saying I was nearly up to my GB limit and it looked like I would be paying something like the National Debt if I went over my limit....anyway got in touch with them today and taken out a new one year contract.....told her I was ex-BT pensioner.....and wanted something that worked for ME.....(just love name dropping.... don't you?) anyway the new one sounds pretty good so I"ll go along with it.....

Now last year I saved a £1 a day....so in the new year.....while Sir was poorly and I had money to spend.....I bought me another sewing machine.....just a little one..,you understand....and a Tablet....(that's probably where my limit has been used up).....and still have some pennies to spend on our holiday in Spain......oh yes.....and there are 20 fat quarters on the way here......

tomorrow is my Aber day.....will call in the Craft shop and see if they stock the 1/4" foot for my new little machine......will try to be brave and not look at their fabric....says she with crossed fingers behind her back......

anyway......on to todays menu....Roast Lamb....Carrots and Cauliflower and Roast Potatoes......Chocolate Profiteroles and Cream for afters........

Carol.......Maryz....hope today has been a good one.....

Good afternoon! Happy birthday, Mary! Hope you have lots more fun ones!

It's a lovely day here, but not quite as nice as yesterday. I'm trying to work the stiffness from yesterday's work out of my joints. I MUST work inside today, but I really want to sew on my LUB blocks. I still just might work some in with chores.

No cooking tonight again--more re-runs!

Irish--I saw the end of the Wichita State-Kansas game last evening. That was an UPSET!!! I know the Jawhawker fans are mortified. I don't keep up with it like I used to do. One year I picked my boss' teams for the "pool". I had KY, KS, NC and Duke. Needless to say, he won. I think three of his teams were in the Final 4 and two were at the championship. He didn't even give me a cut of his winnings. Wouldn't ya think I could have had a picker's reward for that!
