SUPPER CLUB - Thurs. (I think), March 12th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Mar 12, 2015 5:30 am

Hi there!

It's another sick morning here. At least I got some good sleep last night - about 10-1/2 hrs! Even as I'm considering if I don't improve soon I might cave in and go to the doctor I received a letter from him announcing his retirement in 2 weeks. Gosh darn it! This happened to me 3 years ago, too.

I took chicken from the freezer. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but it's thawing in the sink now. Chicken noodle soup or casserole probably.

I hope you find something yummy for your supper tonite.

You need to get you a handsome young doctor Mary :-) that way you'll like going to visit him and he won't be retiring hehehe.
I'm going to do chicken on the grill tonight :-) and a salad and asparagus I think :-)

Mary--so sorry you are still puny! You need some of Jana's Jewish Mother's Miracle soup!

We had spicy red beans, rice and polish sausage last evening. I think there is enough for re-runs tonight.

I'm making a Dutch Baby pancake for brunch with cinnamon apples and maple sausage. DH had better get home soon if he wants some! The buzzer just went off... Done!

Enjoy!

Good afternoon from sunny, warming, SW. Pa....Boy, I like those 2 words, (sun-warm).....My favorites......

Oh Mary, I hate to hear you're still not feeling up to par...Maybe you'd better get to that doctor before he retires...And I do like Tina's suggest...We all could use a handsome young doctor...I remember years ago, I needed minor surgery and the surgeon was drop dead gorgeous...At that time, they always put you under but I did tell them, just to let me lay there and look at him, that would be fine....Needless to say, knocked me out! Maybe Jana could express mail you some of that soup.....

Chickie, in re-thinking, maybe your dinner would help Mary get rid of the crud...Don't they say, spicy/hot food, if hot enough, should kill the nasty germs....

Last night I made chicken ala king and that will be on the table again tonight....This is Jim's bingo day and I'm really not cooking, just reheating.....

Being the month of March and we all know what's coming next week, I've had my Irish music blasting for all the neighbors....Getting them in the mood.....
AND Did you Know.......The 1st St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York was held in 1737.....

Happy eating................

CHICKIE Save me some pancake & maple syrup.Yum.Sounds good.

DH had them come get his golf cart to sell since he cannot use it anymore. He only used it to drive up & down drive ,go visit neighbor.I hated to see it as that is one more thing he cannot do.Said he did not feel good enough to use it anymore.

Sautéed chicken breast,roasted asparagus,carrots & spinach salad.Fresh strawberries sliced.....Becca

Irish--I always think hot and spicy is best for "the crud" and any time. Chinese hot mustard clears the sinuses.. on an egg roll or a won ton is even better. Hot and sour soup or even won ton or egg drop soup is helpful too--make it hot and breathe in the vapors. Chili, pico de gallo, salsa and anything else hot and spicy also delivers the healing punch as far as I'm concerned. Of course, I can pour hot sauce on or in about anything.

The pancake was fabulous with the addition of the maple sausage.

Good afternoon,

Maryz - hoping by now you are feeling better - maybe I could just come and mix up a batch of soup! That is the only way I am cooking any! Bill could buy a package - they sell mom's recipe in the grocery store, just add water - voile !

Carol - so glad to see you back - get over that bug too!

Well we just got home after traipsing all over the valley looking for a small frying pan. Finally found one in a unlikely store. But it is just right! Popped a chuck roast in the crock pot for dinner tonight.

They better get my kitchen done quick - I am out of patience - I WANT TO COOK!

OK, enough enjoy!

Joanne, I keep forgetting to ask you if you're watching Survivor this season? I have Jim watching but half the time, he's watching through closed eyes.....
I sometimes wonder, how it could be so hard to be out there on that gorgeous beach....I could do without eating but I would need to have my tooth brush and maybe some ivory soap.....But, gee whiz, tough it up, most of these guys/gals are wimps.....Already yelling at each other.....Going to get good.....

Carol, not you too....Does Jana need to send you some soup? Get lost of rest, feel better soon.....
