Supper club, Friday, Mar. 6........
Well, here it almost lunch time and where is our "Chief" starter upper????Did Mary have an excuse to be away today???
We are having sunshine, lots and lots of sunshine, still bitterly cold but the sun is bright and the sky is a gorgeous blue.....
I have pies in the oven (requested by Jim and Dan, Kathy's son) and that's about all I'm going to accomplish today....I'm headed out the door, meeting gals for lunch and then doing some long over due errands....
As far as dinner, I might not be back in time, lol...But, no one will go hungry, heaven forbid...Jim did mention getting Lenten "mac n cheese" from the fire hall but Mary, if you see this, I won't be eating it......I'm doing Chinese for lunch and even though they say, you're hungry in an hour, I'll be filled to the gills (bad choice of word)......
So, what's filling your plate for dinner.....Hope it's something good......
Happy eating.............

Good morning,
Irish - I am always in the mood for Chinese - oh, a pie from a real iven! Won't be ling here - I hope!
Becca - ouch! Anything coconut is good here!
Well I have had enough of being the pioneer woman! No more microwave! So after this vent we will be eating out! Olive Garden Chilis or Red Lobster. We will se what I can talk DH into.
Also need to find a new small frying pan. Then one I have is losing its teflon coating. Not good. It is tiny, about 5 inches square. Just right to scramble a couple of eggs. I have had it for many many years and take it when we travel so I can feed DH with his diabetes.
Enjoy,
Jana

Becca, that coconut cake sounds good!
That old sun must be everywhere today! It's been shining here all day...and the blue sky, too. I'm thinking that maybe we will be done with the very cold, snowy days...into the 60's next week! lol!
Tonight will probably be the old standby...Kiebalsa sausage, buttered noodles and Bush beans...the chili was good last night, too.
Joanne

Ha, ha, ha!!!! Irish you made a great funny! I know I'm in trouble... we are going to the big Lenten Feast of my favorite foods. Our friends know to give us a call each year at this time--good food, good friends. It doesn't get any better than that! By the time we drive over an hour, I'm salivating all down my shirt in anticipation.
Poor Chief Chef--she is probably hiding on Fridays now with all the terror we give her. Can you believe, I thought I would have a great dinner for them the first time they came to visit with my special, seldom-shared pond fruit only to find out that it would not have been greeted with exuberance. That's o.k. More for me! I'll give away beef!
Becca--I feel your pain... at least $880 of it this year. I had put tire$$ on it the year before and also had almost $1000 work done on my truck last year, so this year's was a rude shock. You have a lot fewer miles than I do. I think my 2000 with 95,000 miles is pretty low and should have lots more in her. Oh, coconut cake! My grandma made THE BEST ever! She made it and entered it in the county fair when she was young and won the prize. Wish I had her recipe.
Jana--I've been making an egg in the microwave in a small covered glass bowl and having it on an English muffin. No grease! Try a small ceramic skillet. My DD really likes hers. Anything coconut works with us, too. My favorite thing to make for dinner is reservations. Too bad we only have Pizza Hut and a couple of Mexican restaurants around here. DH loves pizza, but hates going to the Mexican places. He does eat my attempts at somewhat authentic Mexican, so guess that's better than never getting it at all.
Enjoy!

Chickie - I use the egg beaters for Michael with pam to keep them from sticking. They toughen up for me in the microwave. I will look at the ceramic.
Thanks,

I'm here! I'm here! I can't tell you how many times I've started toward our Chit Chat section, only to be summoned by my DH. He needed a ride to his gym class. Then he needed a ride BACK!! Then he needed a ride into Tacoma to pick up the pick-up. Then I had to go to the post office, take a shower, eat, eat again. I haven't done a thing all day except drive and eat!
We just had a $400 repair bill with another $1,000 bill coming up when the parts come in. And we just put $1,000 into it. But no matter what it costs (to a point, anyway) it's still cheaper than the new $65,000 King Ranch Ford he's been talking about! That's 3 times the cost of my first house! But no matter what it costs, it's an ouchie!
So as I scanned the upcoming menus (so happy you didn't wait supper for me) I picked up on Chinese (not my favorite), pond fruit (I won't go there), and coconut pie. COUNT ME IN!!
JANA - I saw the cutest 6" square electric frying pan at Camping World yesterday. And it only costs about 30% more for the privlage of buying it at CW! Such a deal! But it was a cutie, as frying pans go.
Tonite for us - blueberry pancakes! I cant' wait!
Eat up!
