SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Mar 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Mar 03, 2015 4:04 am

Good Morning,

Some of you are getting more snow and yet I think it was Becca who said she will be at 68* today! And we have tulips blooming now. What a strange winter!!

JOANNE - I hope the water stays away from everything valuable!

JANA - glad you are getting 'well-behaved' snow. and also that hope for your new countertops has been resurrected!

CHICKIE - don't think I"m not noticing your "pond fruit" referrals. You are getting check-marks next to your name.. . .

IRISH - I can only picture the scenario going on in your bedroom last night! haha!!

We got our trailer all put back together yesterday and it's just awaiting the couch now. We are pondering a short camping trip sometime this month and think we just might go up to Deception Pass, one of our State parks north of Seattle, about 2 hours away.

My soup yesterday morphed into chicken/veggie/rice soup. I got to thinking - I have 15# of rice I bought at Costco - why should I make noodles?? And, as is often the case with rice, we have plenty left over for tonite. Though I am contemplating another menu instead. It's my LDH #2's birthday today. I always try to remember him in some small, but meaningful way. So I think I might make oven BBQ'd spareribs using his own recipe. (and it calls for a lemon!! I can use up one more lemon!). I'll make mashed potatoes and a VYTBN (veggie yet to be named).

And what kind of delicacy will you all be serving tonite?

Good morning,

Dinner will be chicken in the fryinng pan with everything else to be seen!

Ethan may be here later for a short time. He hasn't been eating, so off to the Dr. Found a ear infection and RSV. In the old days, we called it croup. Sarah has a Dr., appointment as well. Her Graves disease is getting worse, so we are in for a lot of tests to find out why.

Enjoy yourvfeasts,
Jana

Mary, last nights supper and tonights both sounds yummy at your house :-) It's Tuesday here so I'm not cooking, we're going to DD's for supper and she said she's making meatloaf :-) and a salad, not sure what else but the salad and meatloaf will be what I'm eating :-) I might make a strawberry pie for dessert, I need to use up some strawberries before they go bad.

Good morning from dreary but slightly warmer (than yesterday) but getting colder, Sw. Pa...How's that for a forecast???

Mary, As Tina said, both your dinners sound pretty darn good to me...And you have tulips blooming????I don't think we'll even see grass until June.....Just want to tell you, I read when I go to bed and Baby Girl does not like me reading your book while she's trying to sleep on my chest....It's hard to keep from laughing and bouncing her around....

Chickie, you're really getting yourself in trouble with all that "pond food"....You don't want to lose your spot on the list....

Tina, strawberry pie, this time of year??? That's almost unheard of in these parts..I have noticed there are some in a few stores but you have to mortgage the house to buy them....Right now, I need to wipe the drool off the keyboard......

I talked Jim into going with me to get some groceries...We went to a new store near, not Aldi, and I was so shocked at the prices...Darn, we'd be rich if we didn't have to eat...AND we also got take out for lunch...Life is good! But, as Jim stood checking the bags, he said, "no cookies, no donuts, nothing good". And what any good wife would do, found him some apple squares hidden in the freezer..Talk about going to the top of the list (at least in this house)....
But as far as dinner, probably have left over "pigs in a blanket" (stuffed cabbage rolls) and the rest of the leftovers....

Happy eating...............

Pond fruit, pond fruit, pond fruit!!! If I get the most check marks, do I get a prize??? That will definitely make it to our table tonight. We had soup and sandwiches last evening.

Rice would be good as a side with the PF...

Irish--stuffed cabbage rolls and stuffed peppers are a favorite of mine... not so DH's.

Lyn--we had the Dutch baby apple pancake for brunch today. Delicious! DH really enjoyed it. I can see more possibilities for variety...

Jana--hope Ethan is better quickly!

Enjoy!

We are gloomy here again, but somewhat warmer--supposed to get to 50, but snow chances tonight and tomorrow. Crazy weather!

We have a our first baby of the season... a little black calf born March 1. We got to see her stand for the first time. So cute!!!
