SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Feb 26th

Good Morning!
In case you missed it late yesterday, I sent a note, via FB, to Lady Carol and she answered in FB. It's in yesterday's S.C. thread. She says 'hi' to all of us and says she will be back.
It's a drizzly morning so I think I will skip my walk - at least for now. Scottie, who's beautiful sheltie coat is, in places, 7" long, becomes such a muddy mess as most of our morning route is through muddy woods. I think DH and I will go later, together, and take him to the paved walking trails instead. He gets wet there, but not so muddy.
TINA - we were camped in Quartzsite once in a dust storm. I can't imagine driving in that! Glad you made it home safely!
IRISH - I KNEW we were related! We have a mattress warmer and I've kept my nightie under the covers at the foot of the bed for years. I always turn the bed on an hour or so before bedtime and everything is nice and toasty!
BECCA - your soup sounds tasty - and healthy! And you're so right - when you are a caregiver, you really need to consider that person when you are considering putting yourself at risk. My SIL takes wonderful care of my DB who has Parkinsons Disease. If she got hurt in an accident, I don't know what we'd do.
JANA - I'm trying to visualize you with granite countertops in hopes that will help them show up today! Our carpet isn't finished yet. They are coming back tomorrow and hopefully that will do it. Thankfully, our couch isn't back from the upholsterers yet because we can't put it back in until the carpet is done.
CHICKIE - Jana mentioned using polenta for the tamales. I'm not sure what you use, but I was wondering if you put a layer of polenta in a casserole, topped it with your tamale filling and then another layer of polenta, maybe that would be an easy way to have your tamales - in a casserole. Might shock the purists, but I'm all for easy!
I have just a few more leftovers in the fridge - kielbasa, rice, chicken. If I add in some onion, maybe some veggies, or ?? I think it might be soup, though it could be a scramble. Then we could move on to new food tomorrow - which at this point I think will be meatloaf, baked or mashed potatoes, salad, and carrots.
Do you have a plan yet for tonite?
