SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Feb 20th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Feb 20, 2015 4:10 am

Good Morning!

I hear another storm is headed east. Hope you all still have your mittens and mukluks handy!

JANA - sorry about the hiccup in your cabinetry. Could they cut into the wall, make a little 'cubby', to slide your micro back another few inches? Ours sticks out 3". I didn't like it at first but I'm accustomed to it now. We were lucky with our granite countertops - they were the least expensive. But they did assure us the price didn't reflect quality but rather the difficulty in where the granite was obtained. Ours came from a quarry in Brazil where it was relatively easy to extract. I hope you are taking photos along the way! Is Gracie coming home today?

CHICKIE - we love Mexican food. and we like medium heat. In fact, I might make my chili relleno casserole tonite for supper. That Doyal just doesn't know what he's missing! What kind of cake? If it's white with chocolate frosting, I'll be swinging by for a taste!

IRISH - I never think of adding cabbage to veggie soup, but it would be OK, I guess. Do you remember the cabbage soup diet craze about 35 years ago? I did that, too. Never lost anything but friends. All that cabbage- uh - really did a number on my digestive tract! lol!!

Well, now my mouth is all set for Mexican food so I think it will be the chili relleno casserole, refried beans, and rice with a small salad on the side. I could even go all out and make cornbread, too.

What's your supper plan?

Good afternoon from sunny (not kidding, real sun) but very cold, cold, SW. Pa....Right now, we're up to about 4 after being at -11 last night....Do you think we've had enough already!

Mary, you and Chickie's Mexican foods are sounding better and better....I know our Mexican places won't have the "real" stuff but I might just have to talk the girls in doing Mexican one of these days (after it warms up).....

Jana, I can imagine the excitement happening in your neighborhood with Gracie coming home...Nothing like a new baby to give everyone that happy feeling....And the new kitchen sounds fantastic, as I'm looking around at mine...I'm not sure I'd know what to do if I had all the space you're talking about....But, I sure do love to hear about others getting new.....

I'm thinking our dinner will be probably something boring...If Jim decides to brave the elements, I'll talk him into picking up take out but if not, maybe the real mac n cheese or maybe just grilled cheese and tomato soup....But, the high light, I have cinnamon rolls raising as I type...Heck with the rest of the dinner, I might just have rolls and a cup of tea.....

Happy eating.................

Almost good afternoon,

Gracie is doing well at home - Aaron is driving me nuts! LOL Every 10 minutes he calls with another "how do I" question. Love that boy!

Dinner - oh how I want to cook! I think since the weather is nice, something for the grill and a salad.

Matt just came and took the old stove to his house. My old one had two ovens and the one at his house didn't. So his old one will live in his basement as a party extra cooking stove.

I have had a running battle with a mouse for a very long time - well, I saw the critter eating the bait in the trap that is suppose to kill them, the other day - nope my mouse has a cast iron stomach. He came out as we were moving the stove - jumped at me - I screamed - ran between my feet and my mighty hunter grabbed a bucket and finally caught that blankity blank mouse. DH took it outside, over to the horses - a long way from the house and let it go. All the time, my cat, just looked at us and never made a move or flicked a whisker to catch that mouse. I guess he thought that he trained us well in doing his job! LOL

Enjoy,
Jana

Irish, we had -12 deg. this morning...ugh! I think I see a little sun... and about midnight, we will have more snow!

Earl went to Medary's for some groceries yesterday..it was 5 deg. outside...brrrr. But I need some soup and cereal that I forgot. Tonight I will probably make Bob Evans Roast Beef and gravy...and it is yummmy! Unless Earl decides to trek to Mama's Grill.

Oh Jana! I HATE mice! I am terrified of them. If one ran between my legs I'd have a heart attack! Glad to hear that you caught him!!!
