SUPPER CLUB - Super Bowl Sunday!

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Feb 01, 2015 3:01 am

It's here! It's finally game day! Seattle, and the entire state of Washington is in a frenzy! Everywhere you go is blue and green. It's so exciting! We'll have our shirts on today, too!

IRISH - your cubby sounds like a great play place. I would have been in there, playing, every rainy day! We have a 'secret passage' in the house I live in now. It's under the stairs in our split entry and the tall end comes out in the hallway downstairs and the short end comes out in the family room. It holds Christmas, luggage, and all the stuff I can't bear to get rid of. The kids and later the grands loved playing in The Secret Passage.

CHICKIE & TINA - did you get your rain? Enough to use umbrellas? CHICKIE - did you get your pick-up back yet?

JANA - Wow! if you 'detest' the Seahawks but are cheering for them over the Patriots, then you must REALLY dislike the Pats! But we'll take it, by golly!

We have quite a menu going today and I need to get cookin' on it pretty soon - brats with sauerkraut & buns, baked beans, potato salad, fruit salad, fresh veggie tray, chips/dips, apple pie `ala mode. What a feast! You'll get tired of hearing about 'leftovers'!

What's YOUR game day feast going to be?

Good morning!

MaryZ—have a SUPER day! Hope you are happy tonight, too! No, my truck won’t be back until at least tomorrow, maybe Tuesday. They had a hard time getting it diagnosed, I guess. Fortunately it wasn’t one of their first guesses—a burned out piston. It’s several things, and they needed to order parts. I miss “Millie” the millennium truck (2000 Nissan)! I’ve really taken good care of her, and she only has 95,000 miles on her.

We didn’t get much rain… just drizzle and wind. No umbrella for me.

Mary—you had me at sauerkraut… I’ll be there! It all sounds yummy! I think I’ll either make a Chinese stir fry with noodles and spinach and ground turkey or turkey tacos. I’ll probably cook my meat and divide it so it will be ready for the “or” meal tomorrow. DH isn’t a sports fan, so no hoopla here… no party, either. I know he would go for the party food, but that’s the price he pays for not being a fan.

Good morning,

Mary - enjoy your Super feast!

Chickie - we too have a millennium car - a 2000 Toyota Solara. She has 120, 000 miles and never given us a bit of trouble - knock on wood! LOL!

Dinner -soup will probably grace the table tonight - with maybe a sandwich too. I am making donuts after church and DH wants brownies with pecans. He is very picky about his brownies, not gooey in any part - so I hope they turn out. Michael is not a sweet goodie
eater, but does want a little something once Iin awhile.

Enjoy,
Jana

Mary, yummy food at your house! Yep we've had rain, rain and more rain, our ground is very soggy! Love it! :-) We even had standing water yesterday :-) great for all my bulbs and trees :-) and should make my rosebushes very happy!
Not sure what I'm making for supper tonight, I'll have to think on it, maybe burgers on the grill and a salad?

Good afternoon from, yet another snowy, cold day in SW. Pa...Gee, guess what, it's snowing...Been snowing since about 7:00 this morning and then they say we might get some rain and then who knows what else...SPRING, 75/80, that's what I want to hear them say....

Mary, you Super supper sounds delish, all my favorites....Isn't it fun to have all those good memories...I lived in a big farm house and we had a clothes shute (that's not how it's spelled, is it?). Anyhow, this thing went from 2nd floor to the basement and it was just big enough for my sister and I to some how manage to go up and down...It was a straight drop and it's a wonder we both didn't end up with something broken...There was even an opening in the kitchen and we'd pop out there...My Mom was grey at an early age.....
I was also thinking of you earlier. I was watching the Kitten Bowl and what a show....So many cute fur balls and they'll all be up for adoption after the show.....Need another furbaby????

Everyone's supper sounds so good but in our house, I think we'll stick with soup and crackers and tea...We both are having a lay around day, not really sick but there's something just not right, lol....So, no Mass this morning (just on TV), no breakfast and for sure no good Super supper for us.....But, this too shall pass....Now if we could just get rid of the snow and cold weather, we'd have it made......

Happy eating...............

Great job guys!

What a fabulous catch in the 4th quarter by Kearse! I have seen some great catches, but that was the best! Game could have been won by the Seahawks, minus the bad decision on that last pass.
