SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Jan 6th

Good morning!

The 'kids' tried to get us up at 0430 this morning but I yelled "NO!" and they left us alone for another hour. We have GOT to start training them back to Pacific Time. Foxy has never been in Pacific Time, nor has he ever traveled, so we'll see how this all goes next week.

JANA - I can't work without lists. If nothing else, I get such a sense of accomplishment when I get to check things off. My reward for getting things done.

CHICKIE - I'll give you an honorary slot on my 'favorites' list (see?? another list!) because you have a sweet pet cow and didn't make me eat her.

BECCA - you still have cookies?? We may have to make a wide swing in your direction on our way home! We ran out of sweets a long time ago.

IRISH - in all these years, you haven't 'fixed' Jim yet? He still eats that stuff??? I never cook it for Bill. If he wants to eat banned food, he has to go to a restaurant.

Speaking of the devil, he saw another recipe on FB he wants me to try - pasta fagioli in the crockpot. He loves soups, pasta, and beans, and anything cooked in the crockpot, so it will be a winner for him. But I'm subbing chicken for the hamburger in the soup. Then I'll package up meal portions and freeze them for travel meals while on the road. We also have some salad fixin's that I better start using up.

We only have 5 more evenings here before we up anchor, and 3 of them are going to be at restaurants. One of those eateries - believe it or not, specializes in catf--h. Ugh!! For some reason our friends here insist that Bill has to taste this southern dish. He's not as anxious as they all think he is, but he's a good sport. I told them I'll take a sandwich. I'm less of a sport!

I hope your supper tonite is so good you don't have to 'be a sport' to gag it down!

Mary--too funny about Bill and the Southern specialty dish. DS3 and his friend serve theirs at a big "F-Fry" with corn on the cob, sausages, potatoes and sh---p. All the neighbors come. It's a huge treat... for me, anyway! Hope Bill enjoys!

Maybe the kids will just acclimate to the time zone as you roll along and they won't know what happened. Maybe... You need kids like ours--especially Odie... you could sleep until 10:00 a.m. undisturbed. He gets up when DH returns from coffee. Then he acts like he's always been up.

Prime rib was served New Year's Day. Guess who didn't taste it. I know, call me "CRAZY!" I can't eat my cow or any of her relatives. It's hard living on a beef ranch. I'm sure that's partly why I'm anemic. Just can't do it any more than a bite when I have to "be a sport".

Still have more soup, veggies, salad here. I need to do something for dessert.

Mary, LOL I'm not a good sport either :-) I only eat certain banned foods but have never eaten from the sea except tuna....shhhhhhhh
Chickie, that might be why you're anemic, my mom is too and it's the same reason, not eating beef.
Well around here it's beef, it's what's for dinner LOL not sure exactly what or in what form :-) soup sounds so nice and warm :-) I could use some warm :-)

Good early afternoon from cold, snowy, wintery, Sw. Pa...Yep, back to the tundra and not liking it......

Mary, I have "fixed" Jim in so many ways but I do "allow" him to think he's still the boss (once in awhile)...One of his favorite meals is the "mac n cheese"/noodle casserole...

Chickie, I'm with you and the beef...Growing up on a farm was tough, especially when all those calves/cows were my pets...Our oldest DGS also raises beef cattle and actually names them and there is no way I could eat something that had been named....Of course I'm the same way with venison...I have those beauties in my back yard and even though they eat my flowers and garden, I still love em......

And after that, on to dinner???? We will be making a visit to the funeral home this afternoon and there is a good chance the car might just stop some where on the way home, I can only hope....If not, left over ham/cabbage and potatoes......

Happy eating.....................

God morning!

It is shopping day here - we are out of fresh fruits and veggies. We also need paper products. No snow in the forecast so it will be a good day to do all this shopping - restocking the pantry too.

When I feed all the tribe here - my pantry gets gets a little short.

Dinner last night - the steaks jumped out of the freezer and potatoes jumped in the oven - tonight - since I need a Costco run might be banned - never catfish! That is one fish I won't try.

Mary - not many days till you will be where it is warm and sunny - Arizona! Sad that you will be leaving Aut, though.

Need to scoot -
Enjoy,
Jana

Well, I made it back! Mary, I have to confess that maybe once a year or so I will have a cod sandwich at Frisch's...it is so "un-f--hy" though! lol! Earl, on the other hand says it is all "deadly"...he got food poisoning from some a number of years ago.

Tonight is some beef stew that I thawed out...and some biscuits. Wish we had some salad fixin's, but we are not going out in that car that has a dusting of snow all over it, and the temp didn't raise above 20 deg. today...single digits tonight and tomorrow, too.

Irish, whenever we leave the house for any reason, we eat! lol!

Aren't catfish bottomfeeders??? UGH
